Collaborative Interest-Based Conflict Resolution – This is a type of conflict resolution that rebels against the more commonly used Adversarial Bargaining. It doesn’t look at the outcome as having one “winner” and one “loser”. It looks to find the best solution for both parties. It is also a more permanent solution because both parties leave feeling that they are “winners” instead of having a “loser” that may later seek revenge. Unfortunately I see this approach as idealistic and conflicting with the selfish nature of humanity. I could not see Osama Bin Laden and President Bush sitting down and actually hearing what the other has to say.
