~*How We Met*~




My friends lived out in the country in a beautiful log cabin that looked out on a meadow. They loved having friends out for get togethers & I was there so much I had my own room. As I showed up one saturday for a party with a group of friends I noticed some new faces. I put my things away in my room & went to the kitchen to see if I could help with anything. My friend asked me to take an ale out to the guy cooking so I did. I walked up to him & he had his back to me so I asked him where he would like his drink. He turned around & I was looking into the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen on a man!! I couldn't even speak!! He gave me huge, gorgeous smile and said thank you. When our fingers touched it was like I had been hit by lightning!! I could tell by the look on his face that he felt it too but by then people came between us & I ended up back in the house. My friend didn't seem to know who he was but I watched him all afternoon & noticed he was watching me too. As is was getting dark I wandered outside to watch the sunset over the meadow. I was standing near the railing of the deck when I heard a voice behind me say"I have been waiting to find you alone" I turned & Sam was right there. We just fell into each others arms & watched the sun go down and we both knew without saying a word that we would be together a long time....

~*How Sam Proposed*~

I woke up one Saturday morning to the smell of coffee brewing & the feel of Sam's strong arms around me. We were once again at our friends house in the mountains, all by ourselves this time. Our friends were on vacation & we were watching the house for them. Sam gave me a squeeze & asked if I was ready for some coffee, & a walk in the hills. I said "not quite yet" ...as I hugged him back, & kissed him.... I could have stayed like that all day but he had plans I didn't know about.... After a wonderful breakfast, we headed out the door & down into the valley. It was a beautiful, warm & sunny day. Sam had a smile on his face that made me think he was up to something. We walked for a couple of hours, talking, enjoying the beautiful scenery & each other. We decided to stop for lunch by a little stream. Sam had made sandwiches & some fruit, while I was still sleeping that morning. we sat near the stream & ate, Sam was leaning against a tree and me leaning against him with my head on his shoulder and his arm around me... After we ate, we talked a little more (or less) then he asked me if I was ready for dessert. I didn't see anything else around to eat, but I said yes. He got really quiet & had a look in his eyes that just melted me... I said "what are you up too???" he smiled and looked at me and said "will you marry me?" as he held up a handful of wild flowers with a ring holding them together!!! I started crying, & fell into his arms saying "yes,yes,yes,...." It was almost dinner time when we made it back to the house for a romantic night around the fireplace.... back Dana
