Calabro Conversion Part V

Chapter XXXII: The Counter-Strike

Calabro had gone through a radical transformation! Maddas, the evil shadow lord had jumped and made several light strikes on our hero to see if he would react. But it seems the Master of English had gone beyond anything known prior to this day. The Super Scholar power as it seemed was second-class to this new awakening. But as Maddas thought in his dark thoughts, “He may be tougher, but I doubt he has meditated enough experience to properly channel this strength that he needs to be anything of a challenge to me.” He stepped his right leg out partially bent and laid his right hand and part of his leg. “Well Mr. Calabro…cares to finish this.” As he stood up straight and raised his right hand as a signal that he should strike next.

Calabro smiled sinisterly, he dashed with his shoulders toward the evil one and coordinated a perfect uppercut to the demon of darkness. Maddas crossed his arms across his face for defense, but the punch was too powerful for a proper block and he flew up in the air, hit. Maddas, as he flew up, flipped around to control his flight. He flew down fast and collided his elbow to Calabro’s stomach. Mr. Calabro took the hit and went splat on the ground. Maddas landed on him and with his left hand pressed his chest flat to the ground and pinned him. With his right he covered his mouth as if to immobilize. This assault caught our hero off guard and as such he was in a tight spot to escape from it. Maddas stared him down with his dark face and he heard a laugh. After pinning him down for a brief moment he let go and hopped a foot off the ground and fired a rapid attack of the Renzoku Energy Dan to the immobile teacher. Dust and dirt whirl winded itself around ground zero as pummel after pummel of “chi” smacked our hero. Each bright blue flame, which emitted from the evil, tired him out some, so within a few minutes he stopped as not to over do himself. He waited patiently as the dust blew away, hoping to find a dead English teacher in a hole. The dust settled and indeed there was a hole with Mr. Calabro lying down, not moving. Maddas cheered as the other scholars looked on in discomfort.

But Calabro was nowhere near dead. He got up slowly and stared back up to his opponent Maddas appeared to be mystified with how he survived a quick attack. But no matter, he will have to resort to straight combat instead of trick “chi” attacks. He dove down to knock him down with a quick punch, but Calabro deflected and knocked him back. Maddas simply blocked and hit back. With that a string of punches back and forth blew off in a rigorous pace as they deflected and hit and what seemed unending. Maddas was also attempting to trip Calabro with the use of his feet as he punched him. Calabro hopped back a large distance, again, and again toward the weight room. Maddas hopped as well following him and he halted at the small cabin termed the weight room. Maddas sweep kicked Calabro, but the Mystic Professor hopped and stood straight on the wall of the weight room and spun around as Maddas attempted to kick him again as he was in transit. Calabro jumped from his spot and front flipped tightly behind him and roundhouse kicked Maddas through the weight room window and inside.

“Don’t you see, you are nothing compared to what I have become!” he commented as he waited for his archvillian to regain his stance and out of the mess of weights and machines thrown carelessly in the collision. But the shadow monster leapt through the mess and toward Calabro. Calabro predicted a punch from his opponent and ducked down as he swung his fist, and as he pulled away from the punch, Calabro slowly back hang sprung with his left hand back away from him. He landed facing him with his hands on the ground and nearly flat on the ground in a “spider-like” stance. Maddas dashed to hit him as he was regaining balance, but Calabro immediately zanzoken out toward the right of the dark lord in his crouched position. He reappeared in his crouched state as Maddas predicted his appearance to be and dashed to the spot and swung his arm to hit him. Calabro got up quickly and zanzokened out through him as Maddas’ power nearly made him fall forward from not hitting. He followed Calabro as he reappeared hopping away from him, in his mind waiting for an open spot to hit him hard.

But Maddas quickly understood his attack pattern and got in close enough to try to hit him, Calabro blocked and the two began exchanging fists in a lightning speed mortal combat with fists and feet flying around. Maddas being on the offensive was forcing Calabro to run backwards as he was defending Maddas’ push on his fists. The two kept disappearing and reappearing from zanzoken maneuvers, amazing the senior class and parents.

The scholars began watching in awe as their once English teacher had out done himself more so then any of them had every dreamed up. “Mr. Calabro, hang on…you can do it...” Whispered Zuk as the others watched with mouths hanging open. There was chitchat amongst the seniors crowded together in a small perimeter, as they all embraced tightly hoping this was a dream and remembering that Graduation Night was supposed to be fun and beautiful.

Maddas locked his fist into a cross arm block from Calabro and pushed him several feet against him as he slid. Finally with his other fist he punched Calabro in the face. Our hero jerked his head away and let go of his block as a result of the hit. Maddas saw this window of opportunity and began pummeling him with a furry of fists to the face and chest as Calabro was too uncoordinated and couldn’t react properly with a good block. Maddas switched to his right hand and randomly punched boxer style across Calabro’s face as he readied his left arm to give him a strong gut punch to know him out cold. Calabro waited for the brief intermission of attacks for the powerful attack and as it came he flipped down on his back and kicked both feet up in the air and caught Maddas’ chin and knocked him upright and Calabro rammed him with his shoulder and sent him flying. Calabro zanzokened out and appeared behind him to roundhouse him again and play “tennis” with him with kicks and punches. Maddas’ felt a premonition of that was to occur and regained his speed and disappeared as soon as Calabro swung his leg. Our hero swore as he missed only hitting the after image.

Maddas appeared to his left flying toward him, ready to strike him with a “superman” maneuver. Calabro dashed toward him and the two collided with arm to arm and a large sonic boom crashed across their collision. They disappeared again and from the sights of the viewers several sonic booms appeared randomly up and down across the field. Until they finally appeared again in real time with another collision with a sonic boom, where they paused their action for a brief second. Maddas punched at him with his free arm, but Calabro disappeared in a flash. He reappeared and did punch at Maddas who in turn disappeared as well. Frustration rose from each fighter over several of these missed hits, until Maddas flew backwards away from him in a zanzoken and Calabro saw him and dashed toward him and a foot of the air spun around in a deep roundhouse and struck Maddas deep in the jaw, sending him flying down the field.

Maddas regained himself and zanzokened back and with his shadow abilities split himself into 4 entities of himself (known as Shinyoken.) Each surrounded and began to gang up on our hero, who in turn was blocking each very well, as they can only fight at ¼ total power due to the split. Then they each rammed together into Calabro down on the ground and reformed as one Maddas. Calabro quickly kicked Maddas in the shoulder, as he was ready to punch him. The punch missed as Calabro zanzokened out, and it struck through the ground. Calabro flew toward him with an airborne flying kick to the brief moment between the missed punch, and Maddas in turn zanzoken out and reappeared in a form to Calabro’s face. Calabro had also blindly kicked in the general direction he believed Maddas would appear in and they both kicked each other in the face simultaneously. The both took a brief second to get back together as each barrel-rolled tightly in the air from the strike. Maddas landed on all four limbs on the ground. Calabro landed on his feet facing away from Maddas.

Each stopped for a moment, “It seems that we are definitely equally matched, aren’t we?” asked Calabro to his attacker. “Maddas flew down slowly back to back to him, “You are correct. Let’s liven things up, instead of fists, let’s use our blades of steel and iron and strike down.” Calabro jumped a head of him a bit and turned around facing him. He reached behind him and removed his mighty sword and held it with two hands with the blade glistening in the dark. Maddas mimicked Calabro’s maneuvers and removed a dark bladed scimitar sword.

Maddas dashed first with his sword up high, ready to slash over him. Calabro rushed toward him too with his blade up high as well. As they got closer both swords clung together with a sharp noise. They each spun their blades around in a circle and began slashing and slicing toward each other and each defending perfectly. Over heard slashes came from Calabro to catch the blade in the shadow’s head, but also some low blows to damage his leg to give Calabro an opportunity to hit him while he is disabled. Maddas was striking to the middle, where in a human the vital organs of survival reside. If one were to be punctured, the chance of death would be very high.

Calabro leapt up high with his blade pointing down to the ground as he attempted to puncture a very deadly hit into Maddas to ensure victory. But of course Maddas reached and grabbed the sword by the blade, unharmed and tossed Calabro aside on the ground. Calabro fell flat on the ground with sword in hand. Maddas ran to his body and sliced toward him on the ground. Calabro avoided the sword’s blade and kneed Maddas in the stomach and with his own sword took a swing and luckily caught a piece of Maddas’ shoulder. He slowly began to ooze blood. “Damn Mystic Professor power!” As he backhanded with his non-injured limb, Calabro dodged as he was getting up. Calabro flipped back up on his feet and dashed where the two collided with crossed swords.
