Calabro Conversion Part II

Episode IX: Heroes Again!

Zuk had lifted off the landing and sped off to the pair standing in the middle of the soccer field. Upon reaching, he flipped forward in mid air and landed with a light thud. Caitlin was awed from seeing Zuk flying and landing with his ever so popular “chi” powers. In a stutter, she muttered to him, “Has...has is happened again? Have those...things returned to get us?”

Zuk had to admit the slight fear from the tense of her voice. The whole thing was a nightmare to her, a dark moment when the hero won’t always pull out in the end. “Yes, the clones are resurrected for vengeance against our intervention, so we have been gifted with our new found abilities, again.” answered Zuk to Caitlin’s question. From that conversation, Tara had begun to become a little frightened from that moment, her memory of that evil clone leader, how he nearly killed them all.

From that moment a small group of five figures piled from the school and ran down toward the party of three. Joe had examined closely to realize that they were indeed the powered up clones, the fire fighters. Armed with axes and armored fire vests, these basic enemies were more advanced then the typical guard clones. At the back of the parade was the obvious leader of the brigade. Zuk stepped in front of Caitlin and Tara, for he feared a fight would break out, and since neither girl had good experience in fighting, nor gifts in the fighting field, he decided to have them try to stay out of it as much as possible. The army halted a short distance away from the heroes and the leader flew toward the front and landed with his arms crossed. A devilish grin and a deadly stare proved to the heroes that they would meet their match.

He was a high lord, no doubt, similar to the last leader Zuk defeated but instead of the brown hide of the last, he was silver, almost metallic in color.  “I am Vechsurk, leader of the alien armada from the Planet Arlia, and am here to colonize your world to build our divine temples to our gods.” quoted the metallic figure. “I am sure you remember my brother, Li Eclud, the fool, who tried to overtake this world for his own plans. But lets get down to business, I have given orders to capture the healer behind you.” Vechsurk then pointed to Caitlin, who was astonished to realize he was right, she had her powers again, the sensation rushing to her memory after the fire drill a while ago.

Zuk stepped forward, “Not on your life...punk, I’ll take you on and wreck you.” he shouted to the leader. “Well, as much as I am not the fighting person, I’ll take your request. Prepare to die, mortal.” replied Vechsurk. Zuk had checked out his opponent for basic strengths and weakness, he realized that he might be a problem that is if was stronger then his brother as he said is. At that moment, Zuk removed the Cape from around him with a swift pull and chucked it to his left side, which it landed with a rough, thud. “Weighted clothing, great for speed.” said Zuk as he began to rub each side of his neck and crack them for comfort.

Vechsurk cracked his knuckles and was ready for a battle. Zuk gripped his hands together and strained his body with a loud shout and burst into his magnificent Super Scholar self, his golden hair glistened in the afternoon sun and his green eyes looked upon the villain with great anger. Caitlin and Tara could do nothing but stare at Zuk with awe and question as to what he was.

Astonished by this transformation, Vechsurk shrugged his shoulders and was not at all impressed by this upgrade in power. Zuk dashed toward his opponent and was immediately engaged in a fast paced fistfight, as Zuk was close enough to the metallic leader. They began to slide across the field from each hit, block, and so on. That is, until Vechsurk performed a swift kick to Zuk’s stomach and he fell back a little as the alien leader high kicked him and Zuk was slightly airborne, Vechsurk swiftly punched Zuk and sent him flying across the soccer field, past the hill toward the track.

The leader smiled, knowing that he has probably defeated his opponent, so easily. That is, until a huge burst of golden “chi” exploded from across the horizon of the hill, which followed a really angered Zuk speeding across the ground to beat up Vechsurk. He gave him a swift left hook to his face, which caused the leader to lose some concentration and Zuk high kicked his opponent into the sky. Vechsurk regained his stamina from the blow and stood in the air, he stuck a hand out and he charged his bodily energies to fire a projectile. He shouted, “Big Bang Attack.” and out formed a huge ball beam, twice the size of the six-foot bandit himself and fired it at our heroes.

Caitlin and Tara ran behind to the softball field to miss the shot. Zuk leapt up and shouted, “KAIOKEN” and his gold “chi” turned to a reddish color and he tried to perform a reverse kick, while Vechsurk was taking a breather from the attack, which impacted onto the field and caused a huge crater. Zuk was about to kick the villain, and Vechsurk was about ready to defend, when Zuk quickly teleported behind him a lengthy distance away. The leader sensed this and threw a small flame ball at Zuk, who immediately teleported again and rammed into the fighter with a rough smack, which sent him flying into the guard booth near the “Walk of Fame” to the track. A small hole was the only damaged part of it.

Then a large flame like aura of “chi” blasted the whole thing apart, showing Vechsurk twice as pissed as Zuk was originally. He stopped for a second as he looked at the girls near the softball field. He smiled as he wondered just to kill the girls off, and then finish off Zuk, he would lose either way. He brushed his index and pointed fingers across his forehead while it gathered energy. He held the fingers straight toward girls and shouted, “Makenkosauppo” and fired two beams, one was a straight beam and the other coiled around it, like a screw type coil. The beam was about to hit the girls directly and kill them both. Joe saw this to happen and flew as fast as he could down to protect them.

Realizing he had no chance he properly block a penetrative attack as that, he made a decision to take the hit. He landed in front of the frightened pair and spread his arms out to defend them. The beam struck him very hard and began to drill into his flesh, almost trying to penetrate him and hit the girls. But Joe had other plans, he clenched his fists and a small barrier formed at his back, which the beam couldn’t penetrate. Vechsurk let go of his beam and the rest buried itself to Zuk’s body. Zuk stood there, a bit fatigued, he shook a little, fell to his knees, then flat onto the ground in a passed out state. Caitlin rushed toward his beaten body and stuck out her hands, a wave of green energy enveloped Zuk in a way to heal him, but when she stopped her healing, he wouldn’t get up. He opened his eyes slightly, titled his head toward her and whispered to her, “No Caitlin, it’s not going to work this time, maybe some other, not now. Fight hard and don’t that him take over us, we beat them all once, we can do it again.” He closed his eyes and fainted, where he passed onto his immortal sleep.

Tara went over to examine his body, she felt a pulse, but then it died, nothing was left of him. His body faded from this world and disappeared into the next world, leaving only pressed grass and a little blood from his defense of the two girls. Caitlin was wide eyed, that he was gone. He saved Tara and her life, in sacrifice, how noble! Caitlin started to cry a little as well as Tara, until Vechsurk interrupted them, “How touching, but oh well, what foolish, he deserved to die for being so...noble risking his lives for people who will join him shortly.” he stated.

Then from behind him he felt a breeze, then the pain of a sword stab across his arm, as a figure dashed threw his arm and landed a few feet in front of him. It was Calabro, with his blade of truth and honor. Then he felt a swift blow to the head and he landed very hard as Philibuster landed right at Calabro. “Where’s Joe, I saw him fight earlier, that’s when I ran into Calabro and we we’re going to help you guys.” Caitlin and Tara couldn’t help but shake their heads. “Well...Joe, he is...gone. He tried to save us, and he did, but he sacrificed himself for our sake.”

Joe stood there, an angry look upon his face as he turned toward the killer, who was getting up with his only arm. Joe clenched his fists and he breathed heavily, “You son...of ... How dare you...” Joe felt his power reach a potential peak, his rage built to a high rate. He felt his hair stick straight up and shifted to a golden color then to his normal dirty blonde. His eyes turned from the hazel color to an emerald green, and then back to the hazel. Then, he shouted, “Ahhh. I am going to rip your head off and use it for a sponge to wipe your dead carcass up.”

Then Joe exploded into a transformed state, identical to Zuk’s. He stood looking at his opponent in great anger and disgust in his transformed state. Yes, Joe was also another Super Scholar.
