Calabro Conversion

Episode IV: Reunion at Last!

The students in Calabro’s new party looked nervous, despaired, and worried. They had wandered through the docked ship, which they had managed to stow away on.  “Pretty empty in here, what should we do about finding the students?” asked Caitlin. “Who knows?” Calabro answered, “But we may stumble onto something that can help us out.” They walked through a doorway, which echoed a loud noise when it opened upwards. Upon entering the party observed a large assortment of various weaponry and armor from the medieval and futuristic ages. Nate picked up a pistol-like weapon, “hmmm, this could be something fun to play around with.” He muttered, knowing that this was a blaster-type weapon that fired laser-like projectiles. Bryan picked up a mace, swung it around a few times, grinned devilishly and strapped it to his side. Caitlin observed a whip, which was beautifully hand crafted. “Hmm, this is the lightest weapon, and it looks easy enough to use…” She said to herself. All the party members began to choose light armored fabrics made of a stretchy and soft material that covered their chests. They wore the armor underneath their clothes and locked and loaded their weapons and moved out.

After the group finished “borrowing” the necessary equipment for their battle, they exited the room and walked to a large door, opened it and walked blindly into the walkway ahead. At that moment, three berserkers flipped out from the darkness above the shadowy dark ceiling. Calabro quickly drew his blade, the other members quickly following suit. One rushed toward Nate and pinned him to a nearby wall, the dark, evil look in its eyes meant certain death if Nate didn’t do something quick. He slammed his head into the berserker; the small agile creature reeled back in pain, as he placed his hands to his face for comfort. Nate rushed toward him, gave a strong punch to his stomach, then an uppercut, and finished him off by grabbing his neck and pelting 2 pistol shots into its head, killing him instantly. Nate threw him off to the side and readied for more.

Meanwhile, as Nate fought, Bryan had met up with another berserker. He made a strong swing with his mace toward the cloned being. The swing missed, and the recoil of the stroke left him open for a hit and he was unable to control himself. The scaly creature kneed Bryan’s face, but he was too quick for him. He grabbed the knee before impact, twisted it with a loud snap, and pushed him away. After taking a second to recuperate, Bryan grabbed his weapon, rushed toward the helpless victim and smashed the poor fool to putty, leaving a large pool of green blood, which quickly disintegrated.

Calabro took on the third Berserker as Caitlin ran to hide. She was smart enough to know she doesn’t have enough courage or fighting experience, however she would try if she needed to. Calabro struck the berserker on the arm hard. Even as he defended, his arm flew off in an agonizing scream. In a wild rage, the basic trooper gut-punched Calabro to his stomach and knocked him down. The armless trooper then stopped, gathered as much energy as possible from inside him and regenerated his arm back from the stump it was before. The bloodied, newly grown arm was as perfect as before. The veins of the berserker’s body burst and his muscles increased as he rushed toward the fallen Calabro. However, the master of English flipped into a handspring and rolled backward, narrowly avoiding the attack. He got up quickly and rushed his attacker with his sword in a drill position. The creature was overwhelmed as he was impaled through his lower stomach by the mystical blade. “Mess with the best, die like the rest.” Calabro quoted. He sheathed his blade with a devilish smirk.

All the members of the Calabro Crew moved onto the unknown. Where they came upon a large elevator floor designed for ten. All of them stepped onto it and the elevator moved upward to the next room above them. The room was massive, its walls were scaly and felt strangely alive… It gave an eerie chill with a very bad feeling. From this dark area, the elevator locked up as well as the four large doors on each wall in there, all were barred up from the inside. The lights blared onto the heroes, like from those visions of people when they see aliens. Troops from the ceiling fell down and quickly picked a hero and took him/her away. All was taken, except for Nate. He was left in the lit arena as the others were taken to a prison-like area to wait...for their turn. From the catwalk above entered a Zeal, which was more muscular and taller than the typical one. He spoke in perfect English to Nate and all the rest.

“This is for your bravery in your trial. You have made it this far, we underestimated you...humans. However, your skill with the abilities we gave you only proves the logic of our choice of you as our new source of slave labor…I’m sorry, permit me to introduce myself, I am Li Eclud, High Lord Master General to the Zephlin race. I have been most impressed with your improved skills and your ability to get here. So I propose it is time for a tournament, where you will battle the gladiator of my choice in a free-for-all. The winner will be released from capture and maybe if you win, you possibly could return peace to your world…” It said.

Nate stood in a powerful stance, slammed his fists to his chest, and shouted, “All right, bring it on, you alien bastards.” Li Eclud smirked, “Let the games begin.” The large door north from Nate opened, and out popped a big warrior. His mantis-like appearance was contrasted to its reddish armor and battle weapons, comprised of axes and other tools of war.  They disgusted our lone scholar. Nate drew his pistol and ran toward the beast, firing three shots toward the beast. The cricket creature that was in fact the Champion Reltih was far too agile for Nate thanks to his race’s abilities. Reltih jumped in a flying motion over Nate and pounced onto his stomach, pinning him down. He attacked Nate with claws to his cheek and chest in various slashes and bites. Nate screamed in pain, it was overwhelming and his energy was slowly leaving him. Recovering all that he had, he coiled his arm as fast as he could, and slugged the poor sap onto his mouth, which sent the bug flying; he landed with a hard ‘thud’. Nate wiped the blood from his cheek and rushed toward the beast and he began to rapidly punch his fallen opponent in the face, leaving light bruises on his mouth pore. The beast kicked upward, knocking Nate away, and his shoulders unsheathed small spikes. Then Reltih ran toward Nate, who barely got up and smashed him into the wall. The spikes began to tear into Nate’s body and blood flowed from his chest from the attack. Nate then slipped to the floor, defeated. The beast roared a victory growl and raised his arm to finish Nate.

But a figure flew from above in a black trench coat, and wielded a chainsaw for a right hand, and something else across his back. The new comer slashed his industrial blade onto the arm of the attacking mantis’ arm, and sliced it off like a knife through butter. The beast shrieked in pain and recoiled back. The figure, side kicked the beast and he fell heard onto the floor. He pulled an item out from behind him, which was a double-barreled shotgun. He cocked it with one hand and pointed it into Reltih’s bug eyes. The figure muttered, “Suck it, bitch.” as he fired the gun and blew the creature’s eyes through his head and out onto the ground. The figure turned toward the fallen Nate and the capture Calabro crew and he blew the ends of his barrels. Caitlin frantically said, “It’s a clone! He’d never save us!” The figure was Mike indeed. He sheathed his mighty weapon, and rocketed back to whence he came. He returned, accompanied by three shadowy figures. He said with a smirk, “Look who I brought.” The three figures stepped into the light, they were none other than Mr. Farrell in an arm sling, a little bit roughed up from combat, another scholar of the two, Ross Carrigan, also a little beat up, wearing twin Sub Machine Guns at his sides. Along with them, was a timid freshman girl, a happy look on her face at the sight of her hero, Mike in action.

Li Eclud was not pleased, he shouted on with the games. “I doubt that these mere boys and girls can defeat a race as superior as outs.” Join us next time as the battle continues in Episode V, The Fight to the Finish!
