Calabro Conversion
Episode III: Victory... or Defeat?
As
Joe the Powerful charged up his energy to finish the fallen Zuk and Calabro, he
felt a sharp pain as a katana blade sliced his hand off of his arm. With a
scream of pain the clone backed to view the fool who had harmed him. Before him
stood Joe Philibert, garbed in a black long sleeve shirt with a Chinese Dragon
that snaked around his chest and baggy jeans. He sheathed his blade, which was
crossed across his back where the other sword was already stationed. “What’s
the matter? A big Joe party going on and you didn’t invite me, Joe I’m hurt.”
stated Joe Philibert. He helped Zuk get up and handed him a small chocolate
chip cookie “Here Joe, take this. Bastedo gave me some before today, he told me
these had magical healing powers after I freed him from the aliens.” Joe then
consumed the cookie and was instantly revitalized! He got up and felt
great. But the other Joe whispered
something into his ear. It seems as though Philibuster (Joe Philibert’s
appointed nickname) had viewed the battle and had an idea of the power of these
two clones. Zuk agreed to this whisper with a nod. Then the two real Joes stood
next to each other and performed a reflexive dance which looked more liked an
aerobics routine with simple arm and leg movements. During these steps, they
began to chant, “FU-S-IO-N…HA!” Each syllable was a step in this dance.
Five steps
later, they both twisted their bodies toward each other and grabbed their
hands, when suddenly a great white light enveloped them and the two molded
together into one single entity. When the light disappeared, there stood one
all-powerful fighter. With frosted blondish-brown hair, which was gelled and
combed toward the front. His gray eyes reflected his power, and a black tight
T-shirt with tan cargo pants that had black stripes running down the sides. The
clothing style reminded Calabro of styles that were typical to each scholar; it
was as though they had been combined. “Behold, we were formed for the
benevolent purpose of kicking your ass! We have the strength because we are two
good things in one! We are known as…Joe-squared.” stated the combined being.
His voice was spoken in stereo since he was two people combined as one. Both of
the Joe clones looked little nervous about what would happen, but they stood
their ground and prepared to fight. Joe-squared charged toward his opponents
and nailed a strong, swift punch to Joe the powerful, “That’s for kicking Zuk’s
ass earlier,” he said with a grin.
Both Joe
clones assembled together and began to get into a seriously fast fistfight
against the new ultimate Joe. Joe-squared merely blocked all the shots with
ease, it seemed he was only playing with them. Then Joe the mighty teleported
behind him and it seemed that Joe-squared would have trouble fighting with a
man in front and back, but he didn’t… He was able to quickly block all the
shots in front of him and behind him, by tilting himself sideways and raising
his arms in a curl and defending at the proper moments. Joe-squared performed a
handstand, very quickly and spun his legs like a helicopter and knocked both
clones away. He quickly spun up and dashed to the armored Joe. He grabbed his
hands and slammed him to the ground. He angled his hand over him and fired a massive
energy blast, which enveloped the clone followed by a large explosion, which
sent dust flying everywhere.
The clone
screamed out in pain and vaporized leaving only his sword. While this occurred,
Joe the powerful got up and prepared to attack Joe-squared. He made a small
energy ball close to his chest, as large as a basketball, shouted aloud, and
fired the ball to our newly formed hero. Joe-squared barely had a chance to
react and was afraid of getting hit, but before it hit him, Calabro dives in front
Joe-squared, crossed his arm in front of his face, and the ball collided into
his arms.
The block
held the ball in his arms, ramming his power into his flesh. Calabro screamed
in pain and with the might of only him he motioned the ball into the air, where
it dispersed. “Thanks Calabro, We owe you one.” said Joe-squared. “Don’t worry
about it, it was just a payback for saving my life.” answered Calabro. The
disgusted clone was very angered that his last ditch effort did not work as
well as he hoped. He shouted, “That’s it, I don’t care, you all going to die,
just you all wait.” He flew into the air, his body burst into a bright blue
flame of energy. Then he cupped his hands in front of him and aimed to fire a
large beam at them all. He shouted, “HAHA! REMEMBER THIS JOE! TAKE THIS…FINAL
FLASH!” The familiar blue beam that Joe had used before blasted toward them.
This time the beam was the size of a typical classroom. Calabro ran and dove
behind a hill hoping to avoid the blast. Joe-squared stood there, knowing that
a simple block couldn’t stop this beam. He cupped his hands together
vertically, moved them to his side, and began to charge his remaining energy
into his hands. “KA…ME…” the cupped hands then gave birth to a brilliant blue
ball that fit perfectly in his hands, “...HA…ME…” he continued with his chant.
After the
beam was ten feet into the air, Joe-squared threw out this cupped formation in
front of him, and shouted, “…HA!” A huge beam, the exact same size of the beam fired
by Joe the powerful, was projected toward his dangerous beam. The beams then
collided, they were of equal strength, and so they remained motionless, trying
to drill their power past one another. Then, Joe the Powerful’s beam began to
eat away at Joe-squares beam, “Uh oh, we’re in trouble, better try the ‘extra
power-up’, we kind of need it.” said Joe-squared. He shouted, “KAIO…KEN!” A
pinkish-red flame burst around him, and his muscles dramatically increased in
size. This painful power-up also doubled the size of the beam fired, and in the
scream of pain from Joe-squared, his beam ran through Joe the Powerful’s beam
straight into him, and he instantly disintegrated, leaving only a cloud of
dust.
Joe-squared
let go of his beam, falling to his knees and panting. The light enveloped him
again, and the one figure split into two separate entities. Joe Philibert and
Joe Zukoski were once again their own selves. “Dammit Joe, I’m never going to
do that again. You know, if we were any more worn out and did that, we would
have blown up from the overwhelming power that we got from it. What I mean is,
we lived this long, why die now?” Philibuster said as he smiled.
Calabro got up from his hiding
spot, ran toward the pair and praised them for their work. “You get ten extra
points for that one kids!” Calabro gushed. Calabro picked up his blade from the
ground, sheathed it, and asked the pair if they would join him on destroying
these aliens. “No Calabro, we have other business to attend to with these guys,
we’ll see you later. Stay frosty.” they then flew away over the horizon and
disappeared into the sunset. Calabro walked onto the metallic floor of the
teleporter and dissolved into a beam of yellow light, then reformed in a large
chamber aboard the alien spacecraft. Two guards saw him, and readied their
Automatic Rifles.
Before
they fired, a large hand grasped their heads and slammed them together,
knocking them out. One of Calabro’s other scholars Nate Ernst was the owner of
those hands. Then, another guard turned and prepared to fire at Nate but he was
jumped a shadowy figure. That figure jumped to the wall, and then crawled onto
the wall upwards. The guard began to fire randomly, but the figure was too
fast. He flew downward, landed on his hands, performed a front flip to the
guard and he wrapped his legs around the guard’s neck, he twisted his legs and
tore off the guard’s head. The mysterious warrior then stood upright, revealing
himself as Bryan Galer, a good pal of Nate and another of Calabro’s scholars. “What’s
up sir? How’s it going?” inquired Brian. Both guys stood together, and it
seemed that they had been fighting as a pair for some time. Nate said “Yo,
Calabro, we saw you come here, and so we came up the other way, that’s how we
got the drop on these dumb asses.”
Calabro
could only shake his head, as he muttered to himself, “Stupid!” The three then
began to walk through the spaceship and into another adventure, when suddenly a
loud scream was heard, echoing throughout the hallways of the ship, “That must
be Caitlin, we’ve got to save her.” said Bryan. The party ran toward the
scream, and saw her, being tantalized by a Zeal warrior. The commanding officer
of the aliens had a lower body that was nothing more than a long snake-like
tail that was s-shaped vertically and used for locomotion. The upper body was
human-like with a large cranium. They are scaly and reptilian like creatures
with a strong instinct to fight as well.
Bryan
concentrated hard, and his arm began to mutate into a large metallic blade. He
ran towards the Zeal, who turned to see Bryan rushing toward him, the Zeal,
sensing the appending attack grabbed his blade with ease and slammed him to the
ground. Bryan was out for the count! Caitlin, behind the commander, smiled,
“Gotcha!” she said, as she pulled a bottle of moisturizer fluid and sprayed it
into the Zeal’s face, the deep brown demon covered his eyes and screamed in
pain as the moisturizer began to eat away at his skin.
Then after a minute his
body disintegrated, and a small piece of paper fell from the sky, where perhaps
the commando was holding it. Calabro grabbed it and said, “I know what this
does,” and place it onto Bryan’s face, where it molded into his face, and
instantly healed him. “HA, and who says the reading journal is useless.” Bryan
got up and the large party quickly assembled and began walking toward the large
door that was the gateway into the next chapter of their adventure.
