508 The One With All The Thanksgivings

After Thanksgiving dinner at Monica's, the gang tells stories about their worst Thanksgivings ever. In a series of flashbacks, we see Chandler learning of his parent's divorce (1978). Phoebe losing an arm (twice) in past lives (1862 and 1915). Joey with his head in a turkey (1992). Chandler hurting Monica's feelings (1987). Monica getting a little more revenge than she planned, when Chandler loses a toe (1988).

• We learn that Chandler and Rachel met several times at the Geller house during Thanksgiving breaks while Chandler was in college and Rachel was in high school. But in The One With The Flashback, they have absolutely no idea who the other one is when they see each other for the first time at a bar. Not to mention that they didn't know each other in the pilot.
• In this episode we learn that Chandler has a toe missing, but the writers could have made it a tad less obvious that he hasn't. In The One With The Jellyfish we see Monica and Chandler lying on a beach and Chandler is barefoot and we see he has all ten toes intact. About Chandler's toe, in this episode, they mentioned only the tip was cut off. Theoretically, in The One With the Jellyfish we could have seen the part of the toe that was left.
