"Uhh, Jc?"

"What Justin?"

"Are you sure you're doing that right?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Oh I don't know. I just thought she'd be more comfortable if the part where her head goes was up there instead of down there."

Jc paused for a moment and looked at the little outfit he was attempting to put on his daughter, Maya. He let out a yawn and cursed under his breath, then took off the outfit and started to put it on the right way.

"You know, Jace, you look awfully tired... Maybe me and the guys could watch Maya while you get some rest."

"But you don't know how..."

"Chris does, and I'm sure he'd love to help us out. You really need to sleep."

"Fine... Call Chris, ask him first. If he says it's okay then I'll get her packed up."

Jc watched as Justin pulled out his phone and hit speed dial. He turned his attention back onto Maya, who was now crying. He picked her up and gently cradled her in his arms, bouncing her slightly.

"Shhh, it's okay..."

Justin slid his phone back into his pocket and walked over to Jc, sliding his finger into Maya's tiny hand and watched as she grabbed a hold of it.

"Chris is gonna come and pick us up. Joey and Lance are already there."

"All right. Could you start getting her things together? I'm gonna take her for a walk, she likes those."

"All right Jace."

Jc shifted Maya and started to pat her back gently as he walked down the hall with her, pointing different things out to her along the way.

Once they reached the room with *NSYNC's various awards and other things, Maya quieted down and looked around. Jc smiled and walked around the room with her, telling her stories about everything he showed her.

Chris stood in the doorway for a few minutes, watching Jc tell Maya the story about a picture they were looking at. He smiled and walked across the room, glancing at Jc with a smile.

"I remember that. That's where you met Jenna," Chris said, giving Maya a kiss on the head.

"Yeah... If I only knew what a horrible, awful woman she was..." Jc grumbled.

"Horrible? Awful? Jace, she just left for the week with her friends. She'll be back in a few days..."

"I know... I just don't think I was ready to handle Maya by myself."

"Well, that's what we're for. You're supposed to pawn her off on us and we're supposed to spoil her in an attempt at bringing some truth to that saying parents love to say."

"And what saying would that be?"

"You know. 'I hope someday when you grow up you have a kid just like you.'"

"oh yeah... Well, I think I've more than paid for what I did as a child, now."

"Awww... But you love her."

"Of course I do. I don't see how anyone couldn't love their baby. They give you that look and your hooked."

"Yeah."

"Chris, do you think I'm a good dad?"

"Jace, you're a great dad. Just remember to loosen the leash when she's older."

"I shudder at the thought... You'll be a good girl though, won't you?" Jc looked at his daughter, receiving a brief giggle in return.

"Hey, she giggled!"

"We knew you had it in ya, kid." Chris said, patting Maya gently on the back.

"We gonna go now, or what?" Justin asked, walking into the room.

"J, Maya just giggled." Chris said, smiling at Justin.

"Her first giggle? Dang, I missed it..."

"You know what, guys? I think we need a change before you go anywhere," Jc said.

After Maya was all changed and set to go, Jc said his good-byes to her, and thanked Justin and Chris again. After they left Jc dragged himself upstairs to his room and collapsed on his bed. Before he fell asleep he thought back to when Maya giggled and smiled to himself, then curled up with his pillow and fell asleep.
