Jc was on a red eyed flight over to L.A., where his fiancé was. *NSYNC had just wrapped up a seven month tour, and all five of them were exhausted.
Right after their last performance earlier that night, Jc had gotten a call from one of his fiancé Jenna's best friends, Annette. The call was to let him know that Jenna was in the hospital, and was going to have their first baby at any time.
Jc told the guys he'd have to miss the after tour party and took the soonest flight out from Orlando as he could get. He hoped and prayed that he would make it there in time to see his baby be born.
Once they were clear to use electronics, he took out his cell phone and dialed up Annette's cell phone number. When she picked up he could hear Jenna in the background, and felt terrible knowing he wasn't there.
"Hey Annette, how is she?"
"She's... in a lot of pain, but she's alright otherwise," Annette replied, looking over her shoulder at Jenna. "She's having a contraction right now."
"Can't they give her something for the pain?"
"I think they're going to. I just don't have an idea as to when."
"Can I talk to her?"
"Yeah, I'll hand you over," Annette said, walking over to the bed and handing the phone to Jenna. "Here, it's your almost hubby."
Even with all the pain she was having, Jenna's face lit up with a smile as she took the phone.
"Hi Jc."
"Hey honey. You holding up okay?"
"I'll make it. Where are you?"
"On a plane heading to L.A., praying I'll make it in time."
"You might. All depends on what your son or daughter wants to do."
"Can't they just... push it back?"
"Yeah, I 'bout imagine. Once this thing's out, it's staying out," Jenna said. "It's been evicted."
"Fair enough," Jc laughed.
For the next few hours of Jc's flight, he talked on the phone with Jenna, coaching her through her contractions. She was getting closer and closer, and Jc was beginning to think he might not make it in time.
Jenna's contractions were three minutes apart when the plane touched down. The only thing Jc had brought with him was a small bag, so he didn't have to wait for luggage. He hopped into a cab and headed straight for the hospital, talking to Jenna the whole way.
By the time Jc reached the hospital and paid the driver Jenna's contractions were one minute apart. He hung up with her as he booked it inside and made his way up to the maternity ward as fast as he could. Annette was waiting for him in the lobby when he jogged in.
"How is she?" he asked, taking a deep breath to calm himself.
"She's doing great. You made it just in time, Jace. Come on in."
Annette smiled, turning and heading back to Jenna's room. Jc followed her anxiously. Once he walked into the room he went immediately to Jenna's side, holding her hand.
"You made it..." Jenna breathed, closing her eyes as another contraction hit.
Jc coached her through it, watching as the doctor and two nurses prepared for the baby.

"She's so beautiful..." Annette said as she carried their baby across the small room, gently handing the seven pound two ounce baby girl to her father.
Jc looked down at the small baby cradled in his arms, tears in his sparkling blue eyes. The baby had fallen asleep, and Jc smiled as he watched her.
"Hello, Maya Leigh..." he said softly, holding one of her tiny hands in his own.
Jenna smiled as she watched Jc hold their first baby. She was exhausted, but she wanted to stay awake a little longer. After a few minutes of watching Jc, she asked to hold Maya.
"Here you go, honey," Jc smiled, placing the baby in Jenna's arms.
He laid his head down on the pillow next to hers, kissing her cheek softly.
"She's so beautiful... Just like you."
Jenna smiled and gently kissed Maya's forehead. Maya moved her little arms for a moment, then lay still once more. Both Jc and Jenna laughed softly.
By the time the doctor came back in to bring the baby to the nursery, Jenna was fast asleep. Jc was holding Maya and talking to her softly.
"I can stay here overnight, right?" Jc asked as he handed Maya to the doctor.
"Yes, but we won't be able to get you a bed," the doctor responded.
"That's fine, I'm all set," Jc assured him as he stood up and kissed Maya's hand.
"Goodnight, sweetheart," the baby wiggled in response, making both Jc and the doctor smile.
"Congratulations, Mr. Chasez," the doctor said.
"Thank you," Jc smiled, and watched as the doctor walked out with Maya.
Jc settled down in the chair on the left side of Jenna's bed and sighed softly. He figured he would call the guys when he woke up, because he was exhausted. He kissed Jenna softly.
"Thank you for my baby girl... I love you, Jenna Marie."
