"Mommy! Daddy! Wake up!" Alan yelled as he bounded down the stairs and jumped onto his dad's lap.

"Owww..." Chris groaned, opening one eye slightly to look at his five year old son.

He and his wife Becki had been up most of the night hiding Easter eggs and a few little toys around their house, and it seemed like only a minute ago that they had sat down on the couch.

"Happy eather daddy!" Alan said happily, grinning.

Chris couldn't help but smile. Alan had been showing off the brand new space in his teeth since the week before, when his tooth had fallen out. It had also caused him to have a hard time with the letter S.

"Happy Easter, Alan," Chris replied, shifting to a more comfortable position.

"Why don't you go look on the kitchen table while I wake up mommy?"

"Okay," Alan nodded, sliding off of Chris's lap and running into the kitchen.

Chris stretched and let out a yawn, then turned and nudged Becki gently.

"Becki? Becki time to get up baby," he said, giving her a soft kiss on the cheek.

Becki opened her eyes and smiled up at Chris.

"Awake already?"

"Yeah. He's in the kitchen."

Becki stretched and sat up, Chris put his arms around her as she rested her head on his chest. They listened for a few moments as Alan went through the basket they had set up on the table, and got up when they heard him call for them.

"What is it buddy?" Chris asked, walking up to the chair that Alan was on.

"Read it daddy," he said, holding up a piece of paper.

"I couldn't fit everything into your basket, so I hid the rest around your house. Have fun looking! Happy Easter," Chris read allowed, trying to hide his smile as he watched his son's face light up.

"Wow! Can I look Mommy? Can I look right now?" Alan asked excitedly.

"Yes sweety, you can look now," Becki smiled.

"Yay!"

He watched as his mom emptied the basket so he could put the things he found in it and handed it to him.

"Daddy, you help me?" he asked, looking up at Chris.

"Sure buddy. Lead the way," Chris said, winking at Becki and giving her a quick kiss before following Alan into the other room.

Chris and Alan spend the whole morning hunting, and came back with a basket full of treasures just as the doorbell rang.

"I'll get that," Becki said, knowing Chris was still busy with Alan.

She walked over to the door and opened it.

"Hey Becki!" exclaimed Kelly, Joey's girlfriend, hugging Becki.

"Hey Kelly!" she said, hugging Kelly back.

"Hey Joey. And hello to you, too," Becki greeted, smiling warmly at their little girl, Brianna.

"Hi Becki. Where's Chris?" Joey asked, shifting Brianna to his other hip, also holding a bag containing Brianna's Easter finds.

"He's in the kitchen with Alan, sorting out the candy and things they found."

"Alan! Uncle Chris!" Brianna squealed, hearing the familiar names.

Joey laughed and carried her into the kitchen, setting her down next to Alan. The two kids began talking excitedly about the letters they had gotten from the Easter bunny and all the candy they found. Joey walked over and sat down by Chris, letting out an exhausted sigh.

"I hear ya, man..." Chris said, leaning back in his chair.

"At least they're happy..." Joey smiled, watching Alan and Brianna, who had now started to trade candy with one another.

"Joe I never thought this would happen. And now I have a beautiful son, a beautiful wife... It's like a dream."

"I know Chris, same here. It's amazing... Especially the feeling you get when your kid calls you daddy."

"I wouldn't change it for anything in the world."

"Neither would I."

"So the guys are with their families?" Chris asked after a few minutes.

"Yeah, I asked if they wanted to come, but they all said they were going home to spend today with their families."

"That's good. I'll call them later to see how they are."

"Daddy, will you and uncle Joey tell us a story?" Alan asked.

"Sure, Kiddo. An Easter story?"

"Yes daddy."

"Okay, come on munchkins," Joey said as he picked up Brianna.

Chris picked up Alan and they walked into the livingroom.

Chris and Joey spent the afternoon making up their own Easter stories and acting them out for the kids while Kelly and Becki started to cook. After they were finished they all sat down and ate a beautiful Easter dinner, followed by another story from Joey and Chris. By the time bedtime came around and it was time for Joey, Kelly and Brianna to go home, both kids were exhausted.

Chris kissed Brianna on the forehead and gave her a hug.

"Goodbye sweety. Gotta get your daddy to bring you around again soon, okay?"

Brianna nodded and yawned sleepily.

After all the good-byes were said and the three guests left for home, Chris picked Alan up and carried him upstairs, Becki right next to him. They both helped Alan get ready for bed, and they both laid down with him for a little while. Chris sang to him until he fell asleep, and then they got up quietly and moved into their own bedroom. They both got ready for bed and laid down, snuggling up to each other under the covers.

"I love you, Chris," Becki whispered, giving him a kiss.

"I love you too, baby," Chris replied, kissing her back.

"Alan sure had fun today. I think this was the best Easter ever," Becki stated as she started to drift of to sleep.

"Just wait until next year..." Chris whispered as he to fell asleep.
