Everything I've Known
Damned into darkness,
never to see light.
Always to understand wrong,
never to understand right.
Trapped is my soul,
in a prison of dreams.
Leading me to believe,
nothing's ever as it seems.
Tearing, grasping, reaching,
for something to stop my fall.
As if I'm dropping from a mountain,
and no one hears my call.
Desperately searching for a hand,
a way to escape despair.
I know you see my struggles,
Yet you don't seem to care.
You've left me here stranded,
I've never felt so alone.
You've taken away my life,
and everything I have known.
No longer shall I reach,
for help I won't receive.
I take in shallow breaths,
as I watch you turn to leave.
