..::Nathan Article Snippets::.. From the August 13 issue of Star magazine:
"It's amazing what six glasses of Joliesse chardonnay will do! Nathan Lane, who starred in the Broadway hit The Producers, was reportedly seen enjoying the wine
at Cafeteria in NYC. And the more he drank, the more he whined about his past seven lovers. let's just say he didn't leave out any of the intimate details."
"Nathan Lane, a native of Jersey City, N.J., says his passion for acting started at an early age.
"My oldest brother took me to see my first Broadway show. I was about 11 years old. And I thought, 'That's what I'm going to do when I grow up.'
"That first play was called Black Comedy. Then my brother took me to see a matinee performance of Butley with Alan Bates. I remember being shocked that Bates had to do the performance again.
"My brother said, 'You know, he'll have to go back to the theater and do it again in the evening.' And I thought, 'How can he do that? How can he go through all that again?' See, even then I was rejecting matinees!''
Nathan joked about never having learned to drive, "[In L.A.] you might as well say 'I'm a child molester,' because that's the look they give you. [Or they look at you like you're] part of some Communist plot."
Of his "Mouse Hunt" co-stars: "There were 65 mice bred and trained for the film--they were born to be movie stars. They could be in a lab somewhere, injected with a horrible serum as part of an experiment, and instead they're in a trailer with catering. They were very grateful."
..::Nathan Facts::.. Nathan hosted the 50th Tony Awards on CBS on 2 June 1996. He won a Tony for his role in the revival of "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum."
