ONE LAST TIME
chapter 70:
Tea: I don't know what I want.
[Todd kisses her.]
Todd: I can help make things clearer for you.
[He kisses her again.]
Todd: Let's go to the bedroom.
[He kisses her one final time before pulling away from her and stepping out of the bathtub. Tea turns the water off and also steps out of the tub. She wraps a towel around her body, as a dripping wet Todd remains naked and on display.]
Tea: We're not making love on my grandmother's bed.
Todd: You want to do it on her sofa, instead?
Tea: Is sex the only reason you came?
Todd: You know why I came.
Tea: Because you're horny, and Blair must have rejected you.
Todd: Why are you still jealous of her?
Tea: Because I have reason to be.
Todd: Only if you're hot for me.
Tea: So, there is something going on between the two of you, yet again?
Todd: You know I don't screw around with my wives.
Tea: That's only when I'm your wife.
Todd: The only person I've fucked since that marriage noose went around my neck again is you.
Tea: I don't believe that.
Todd: Do you believe that I didn't come here to talk about unimportant stuff? I came here to get off.
Tea: You want to get off?
Todd: If you insist.
Tea: You've got a hand -- use it!
Todd: You've got a mouth -- use it!
Tea: How dare you?!
Todd: What would Granny think if she knew how much you like doing that to me?
Tea: Are you blackmailing me into being intimate with you?
[Todd takes a deep breath, wanting to reverse the course of their current conversation.]
Todd: I'm screwing everything up because you're trying to screw everything up. I'm too competitive to let you do a better job than me at fucking everything up between us.
Tea: Maybe we should take some time to calm down. Go back to Llanview. I'll bring Valencia to see you in a few days.
Todd: I don't want to just see you every few days, even if we fuck each other's brains out during every visit. If you want to be with me, just be with me. Stop waiting for me to have the perfect words, because you know that will never happen. Stop being scared.
Tea: How do I do that?
Todd: You have to trust me.
Tea: Do you trust me?
Todd: This is a one-way deal.
Tea: I can't do this. I can't risk everything and get nothing in return.
Todd: Not nothing.
Tea: You want me to give everything to you, while you only give me the minimum required to keep me in your life, and not even that much, most of the time. I can't do this again. I can't be that masochistic. Not this time.
Todd: Enough talk...
[Todd maneuvers Tea against the back of the door.]
Tea: Todd...
[Todd brings his body to hers as he caresses the side of her body through the flimsy towel she's wearing.
As he brings his mouth to hers and they share a tender kiss, Tea reaches her hand out and shuts off the light in the bathroom.
Todd ends their kiss and searches for the light switch.]
Todd: Why did you do that?
Tea: I haven't lost all the weight yet.
[Todd finds the switch and returns the room to full light.]
Todd: So, you're okay doing this?
Tea: As long as we're in the dark, and we do this quickly.
[Todd pulls on the front of her towel. Tea again tries to turn off the light in the room. Todd reaches out one of his hands to hers and prevents her from eliminating the light again.]
Tea: I'd be more comfortable in the dark.
Todd: I already saw you, Tea.
[Todd opens her towel and allows it to fall from his hands. He looks down at her body appreciatively.]
Todd: I like what I see.
Tea: That's sweet, but you don't have to say that.
Todd: I never say things to be sweet. You know that about me. I want you, Tea, exactly the way you are.
Tea: Todd...
Todd: Did I get the words right this time?
Tea: If this is all just a game to you...
[Todd brings his body to hers. His naked flesh against her naked flesh forces her into silence as she stares into his entrancing eyes.]
Todd: Tell me that you want this. Tell me that I don't disgust you.
Tea: You could never disgust me, Querido.
[The affectionate tone in Tea's voice gives Todd courage, even as it threatens his internal defenses.
He kisses her again, as they each allow their physical passion to overtake them. They know from past experience that they need a physical distraction from the emotional turmoil loving each other causes them. They intend to pleasurably escape together into the sexual escapism they've used in the past when their emotions became too overwhelming for them. They know that the complications of their emotions will still be there later but for now all they allow themselves to focus on are the physical feelings they're enjoying as they awkwardly make love against the bathroom door.]

chapter 71:
[Todd makes love to Tea as quickly as he can. He knows that their current position is precarious and he doesn't have the patience to delay gratification long enough to change positions. The moans from Tea help spur him on and he quickly releases inside of her.
He continues to hold her against the bathroom door for a few moments longer, as he attempts to return his mind to some semblance of normal.
As he finally allows her to stand on her own feet again and steps away from her, she picks up her towel and wraps it around herself.]
Todd: Delgado...
Tea: That was the last time.
Todd: That wasn't even the last time today.
Tea: Yes, it was. It was nice, but it will never happen again.
Todd: Nice?
Tea: It was very nice. You should leave now.
Todd: Calling it nice is the same thing as saying it was boring.
Tea: I certainly wasn't saying that.
Todd: You're the one who said you wanted me to go fast.
Tea: That's true, I did. It's time for you to leave.
Todd: Now that we got that first one out of the way, it's time for me to do it to you really slow, like I know you like it.
Tea: I'm happy with what we had. I'm very satisfied. Thank you, Todd.
Todd: You can't just use me to get off and then expect me to go.
Tea: Why not?
Todd: Because you love me.
Tea: The status of my feelings for you...
Todd: Stop trying to sound like you're a lawyer.
Tea: I am a lawyer.
Todd: Right now, you're a naked chick. I'm a naked guy. You know what that means.
Tea: It means that we just made a mistake. One we won't be making ever again.
[Tea pulls open the bathroom door.]
Tea: I need to finish my shower now.
Todd: Go ahead. I'll watch.
Tea: I would appreciate some privacy.
Todd: I've seen it all already.
Tea: You won't be seeing it again. Now, please, leave.
Todd: Whatever you want, Delgado.
[Tea doesn't trust his quick agreement, or the gleam in his eyes.]
Tea: What are you up to?
Todd: Nothing.
[Tea watches, enjoying the view, as a naked Todd exits the bathroom.
Minutes later...
Tea, clad only in a towel, enters the bedroom and finds a fully dressed Todd stuffing their daughter's clothing and toys into large trash bags.]
Tea: What are you doing?
Todd: Packing our kid's stuff.
Tea: You're not taking her away from me.
Todd: Do you really think I would do that to you?
Tea: You've done it to your other ex-wife... wife...whatever she is.
Todd: But, I've never done it to you, have I?
Tea: We're not going with you.
Todd: You don't have to worry about packing. I already took care of it for you.
[Tea opens the trash bag Todd points out to her and finds some of her clothing stuffed into it.]
Tea: How dare you?! You don't own me.
Todd: We just did it in the john.
Tea: And, you think that gives you the right to makes decisions for me now?
Todd: You want to be with me. You just proved that.
Tea: You won't be able to charm me with your Neanderthal attitudes this time. I can have meaningless sex with you without it leading to my throwing my life away on you again.
[Tea's resolve to fight Todd's chauvinistic attempt at reconciliation is seriously threatened as he stops what he's doing and approaches her.
He raises his finger to her chest and flicks open her towel, causing it to fall to the floor.]
Tea: I'm not going with you.
Todd: Why not?
Tea: Because I don't want to.
[Todd begins unbuttoning his shirt.]
Todd: Really?
Tea: Yes, really.
[Todd removes his shirt and flings it to the ground.]
Tea: Seducing me won't work this time.
Todd: You're the one who keeps seducing me.
[Todd places his hand behind her head and brings their lips together. As they kiss, their bodies press tightly together as they each enjoy the feeling of the other's bare chest against their own.
Within seconds...
Todd has Tea lying on the bed beneath him as he grinds his still partially-clad body against her naked body. They both enjoy the sensations again building in their bodies.
The sound of Todd's cell phone ringing interrupts the lovers.
Todd removes his body from a disappointed Tea and answers his phone.]
Todd (into the phone): What? [pause] Take the long way.
[Todd hangs up the phone and quickly removes his pants.]
Tea: Was that your wife?
Todd: If you'd stop being stubborn you could help me get rid of that technicality.
Tea: She's your responsibility, not mine.
Todd: We don't have time to talk about any of this junk right now. We have to finish this before they get back.
Tea: Who was on the phone?
Todd: My driver.
Tea: Valencia and my grandmother went in your limousine?
Todd: Yes. Now, are we done talking?
[Todd returns his body to Tea's.]
Tea: Get off me.
Todd: Is that what you really want, Delgado?
Tea: Yes...no...I don't know. You confuse me.
Todd: That's a good thing, right?
Tea: We can't do this.
Todd: We'll have enough time, if you shut up.
Tea: This is the last time.
Todd: Every time is the last time with you.
Tea: I mean it this time.
Todd: From now on, I'll make every time special, like it really is the last time. I'll show you how much you mean to me, how much I need you. I love you, Tea.
[Tea melts at his words, knowing that no matter how stubbornly she tries to fight it, she can't resist this exasperating man.]

chapter 72:
[Todd kisses Tea for several minutes before removing himself from atop her body.]
Tea: Where are you going?
Todd: You said you didn't want to do this again.
[Todd begins to dress. Tea remains naked.]
Tea: That was before you convinced me that one final time would be okay.
Todd: We don't have enough time anymore.
Tea: You told your driver to take the long way.
Todd: Do you realize you're trying to talk me into doing this thing you dread so much?
Tea: I never said that I dreaded it. It just makes me forget, for a brief period, things that I should never forget.
Todd: Like, how much you hate me now?
Tea: I've never been able to hate you, no matter how much I should at times, and you know it.
Todd: If you still want to put yourself through that, come home with me.
Tea: Is that what you're up to? You get me this excited and then you back down, hoping I'll be desperate enough to cave in to your demands this time.
Todd: I just don't want your grandmother to see my butt. I hate watching chicks vomit.
Tea: You have a very cute butt.
Todd: From now on, you're the only person who has to be repulsed seeing that part of me, or the other parts that scare all the chicks away.
Tea: You're not repulsive.
Todd: Only to you.
Tea: What about your wife?
Todd: What about her?
Tea: Why haven't you gotten a divorce yet?
Todd: My lawyer's been busy pretending she doesn't want to have anything to do with me.
Tea: You don't need me to be your lawyer to end your marriage.
Todd: I do if I don't want to end up broke. She's threatening to use that little misunderstanding about Max's kid against me.
Tea: That little thing where you stole her baby moments after his birth and told her he was dead?
Todd: She's acting like I did something wrong.
Tea: Todd...
Todd: Before you start lecturing me, you should get dressed.
Tea: Maybe you'll pay more attention to me like this.
Todd: I'll pay attention, but not to what you're saying.
Tea: We can discuss how cold you've become later. Right now, remind me how warm you are.
Todd: Will you be my lawyer?
Tea: Are you offering sex as a retainer?
Todd: Hell, no! If you want one of those, I'll give you something that's actually worth something so you don't throw the case on me, like other chick lawyers have been known to do.
[Tea gets off the bed and rummages through the trash bag Todd had stuffed her clothing into. She begins to dress.]
Todd: You changed your mind?
Tea: Isn't that what you wanted?
Todd: I want your grandmother to stay gone for decades so I can have as much time with you as I need. But, I also want to see my kid again.
Tea: I miss her. Even when I'm only away from her for a few hours, I miss her.
Todd: I know the feeling.
Tea: Do you?
Todd: You think I don't care about my own kid?
Tea: You didn't care about her when you thought she was Simon's. And, you cared about Jack, until you found out he wasn't yours.
Todd: I can't care about that kid anymore.
Tea: Is your heart really that cold?
Todd: What if I did care about him?
Tea: That would be normal. That would be human.
Todd: Two things I've never been.
Tea: Don't start.
Todd: If I did care about him, if I had ever let myself feel that love junk for him, it would be ripping me up inside right now, losing him to that sleazy, worthless loser, who doesn't deserve a kid like that. I'm glad I'm a heartless bastard, because that feeling would really suck.
Tea: Is that why you want me to move in with you? You want Valencia to fill the hole left in your heart since losing Jack?
Todd: She doesn't have to fill anything, or replace anyone. She's got her own section. It's not very fancy, but I cleaned the place out. I roped it off so no one can mess with that part of my thing but her.
Tea: What about me?
Todd: What about you?
Tea: Do I have my own section in your heart, too?
Todd: That's not what you want, right? You just want meaningless sex, for the last time, once in a while, when you're really desperate.
Tea: I don't want my heart to be broken again.
Todd: Then, stop tossing it around.
Tea: It's difficult for me not to lose my heart to you. After you walk out on me, or push me away, that is how I feel -- like I've lost my heart. It's too painful.
[Their conversation is interrupted as Todd's cellphone rings again.]
Todd (answering his phone): What?
[A few seconds later, Todd ends the call.]
Todd: They're back.
[They stare at each other for several seconds before they both leave the bedroom to greet their daughter and Tea's grandmother as they return to the apartment.]
