[Tea begins her search for her ex-husband at the old abandoned war bunker he had staked claim to when they had previously been stranded on the island. She finds it empty.
Next, she searches the interior of the island, even looking up into the trees, knowing he enjoyed watching her from above in the past.
When she doesn't find him, or any evidence of his return to the island, she begins to walk back toward the beach where she knows Del is waiting for her. Thinking about the less than sympathetic reception she'll probably receive from her brother upon her solo return causes her to search one final location, even though she's certain Todd won't be there.
As Tea nears the back entrance to the cave she had spent many hours in, bonding with her fellow castaway, Ross Rayburn, during the previous summer, she's surprised to find the entrance crowded with many large metal containers.
Tea is now certain that Todd is on the island, and waiting for her in the cave, clearly having planned something elaborate for her return. She considers retreating and entering through the front of the cave as he most certainly had planned, but she's too anxious to see him again to wait another moment.
She quickly squeezes her way through the small amount of space still available through this entrance, her excitement rising. In a moment she'll see him again.
Just before turning the final corner into the largest area of the cave, she stops and takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She wants to enjoy this moment of reunion, as she has all the others, while still maintaining her resolve not to become too emotionally attached, knowing that a long-term future with Todd is never to be.
Inside the cave, Todd had been sitting on a plush patio chair, his eyes closed, his imagination entertaining him while he awaited the arrival of his tardy guest. Noise in the back of the cave caused him to jump out of his chair and now the sound of breathing is causing him to panic.]
Todd: I have a gun! If you're an animal, I'll eat you. If you're a human, I'll eat you.
[Tea takes one final deep breath and moves around the corner and into view of her ex-husband.
Todd's harsh facial expression, and defensive body language, soften as he stares into his ex-wife's eyes.]
Todd: You came!
[Tea smiles, reveling in the look of adoration she knew she could count on him to offer her.]
Todd: I knew you would, Delgado.
[As his familiar smirk begins to adorn his face, Tea's smile fades. Her moment has ended.]
Tea: I came to tell you that no charges are being brought against you for shooting Cristian.
Todd: That was an accident. Don't listen to any of those Llanview losers. They're all out to get me.
Tea: Try listening to me, for a change, instead of the paranoid voices in your head.
Todd: Those voices kept me company while I was waiting for you. What took you so long? Did you get lost? You never were good with directions, Delgado. I should have brought you here myself.
Tea: Why didn't you?
Todd: I wanted to surprise you.
Tea: Here's a surprise for you -- I'm leaving!
Todd: You just got here.
Tea: I only came to tell you that no charges are being brought against you so you can go home now. That's where I'm headed.
Todd: You're back in Llanview again?
Tea: My home, not yours. Good-bye, Todd. I'll send you a bill for my services.
Todd: What services?
Tea: As your attorney...
Todd: Did you get my kids back for me? Did you get all my money back from my greedy ex and that guy who used to be dead?
Tea: Carlotta told me about Victor Lord faking his death and then bequeathing everything to some sadistic man upon his real death. Clearly, you didn't give back all your money, like you were ordered to.
Todd: I earned it, unlike some people.
Tea: I earned every penny I got from marrying you.
Todd: I was talking about the Llanview leeches that bled me dry.
Tea: Clearly your not poor. You could afford that plane ticket you sent me, the boat rental, all this stuff.
[Todd proudly struts around the cave, his arms outstretched.]
Todd: Do you like what I did with the place?
Tea: From now on, how you choose to live your life is your business. It's no longer any concern of mine.
Todd: I did this all for you.
Tea: You did this for yourself. You're selfish to the end, aren't you?
Todd: This isn't the end. This is the beginning. A new beginning...for us.
Tea: There is no us.
Todd: You came.
Tea: And, now, I'm leaving.
[Tea slowly walks toward the front opening of the cave, wishing she didn't want to stay so desperately.
Todd jumps in front of her.]
Todd: Where are you going?
Tea: Back to my life.
Todd: Your life is here...with me.
Tea: For how long this time?
Todd: Enough talking.
[Todd surprises Tea as he puts his arm around her and pulls her into a passionate kiss.
Tea angrily pulls away from him.]
Tea: How dare you?
Todd: Do I need to brush my teeth?
[Todd moves further back into the cave.]
Todd: I brought toothbrushes for both of us, and shampoo and soap and everything else we'll need while we're here. I thought of everything.
Tea: Apparently not.
Todd: What did I forget?
Tea: How to treat a woman.
Todd: I never knew how to do that. You always said you were okay with me being me.
Tea: For the record, I'm not okay with my ex-husband stranding me on an island...
Todd: You're not stranded.
Tea: I was last year.
Todd: That wasn't my fault.
Tea: It most certainly was.
Todd: Rayburn...
Tea: This has nothing to do with Ross. Don't bring him into this argument.
Todd: We're not arguing.
Tea: Oh, yes, we are. It was because of your stupidity that we were on that boat last year.
Todd: Is it stupid to want to spend time with my kids?
Tea: When you kidnap them, yes, that's the definition of stupid, Todd.
Todd: This is good. You're defining words for me again. Everything's back to normal between us.
Tea: If, by normal, you mean that we're back to having separate lives, I agree, this is a good thing. Good-bye, Todd.
Todd: You're not leaving.
Tea: Don't you dare try to stop me.
Todd: I won't have to. You still love me. You're not going anywhere.
Tea: You think I still love you?
Todd: That's right. I brought booze. What kind do you want?
Tea: I want you to go to hell, Todd Manning.
Todd: I can't do that, not even for you. I'm never going back to Llanview again.
Tea: I don't care where you go, just stay away from me.
Todd: Why are you so mad?
Tea: Why? Shall I make a list for you?
[Todd stretches his body out on one of the matching lounge chairs he has facing the pool of fresh water. He opens up the small battery operated refrigerator next to his chair and takes out a can of beer.]
Todd: Okay, I'm ready. Go ahead and do that talking thing you're so good at. I'll do that pretending I'm listening thing I'm good at.
Tea: You can't take this seriously, can you? You think this is all a joke. I'm serious, Todd. When you abandoned me on this island...
Todd: I invited you to go with me. You turned me down. That's not my fault, either.
Tea: Nothing is ever your fault. I learned that painful lesson a long time ago. Despite what you believe, it was your fault that I was on that boat. It was your fault that I almost died...twice. It was your fault that I was left behind when you rushed off this island, risking your life, because you couldn't wait for the storm season to pass before going back to a life that excluded me. It was your fault that you waited weeks to send anyone to rescue us after you reached civilization.
Todd: When I woke up in Guam, I couldn't remember who I was. You can't blame me for that.
Tea: Somehow you knew your own name when you boarded that plane on your way back to Pennsylvania the very day you woke up in that hospital in Guam. Lying to me won't work this time. I know everything.
Todd: This is all ancient history.
Tea: What about more recent events? You send me a plane ticket to Hawaii without even bothering to include a note.
Todd: My penmanship sucks.
Tea: You lure me here, knowing this is the last place I ever wanted to come back to.
Todd: You loved it here. You were always talking about how beautiful the dirt was.
Tea: I need more than a beautiful beach.
Todd: Like what? Name it! I probably brought it with me.
Tea: I need a man who, when he purposely hurts me, doesn't consider shoving his tongue into my mouth to be an adequate apology.
Todd: I don't have anything to apologize for.
Tea: Then, I don't have anything more to say to you.
[Tea turns and leaves the cave. Todd takes another swig of his beer before slowly following her, not expecting her to actually follow through with leaving him.
On the beach, Tea returns to the raft and is surprised to find that Del is not with it.
Todd swaggers up behind her.]
Todd: Come back to the cave, Delgado. I'll brush my teeth. Everything will be okay between us again.
[Tea turns toward him, anger blazing in her eyes.]
Tea: I'm not upset about your breath, you moron.
Todd: What are you upset about?
Del: I know what I'm upset about.
[Todd and Tea both look in Del's direction as he walks toward them.
Todd quickly looks back at Tea, his eyes showing her his hurt and disappointment.]
Todd: You turned me in? I trusted you, Delgado. How could you do this to me?
