Your WeekLy Townsend Fix Column 77-The Finale

Hey Everyone,

Ok well, I know i've been in hibernation a while. I'm about to come out of it and now I"m back. Why haven't I been posting? Well for one Holly and myself haven't had any relevant and current material to run this club on. We're waiting on Rye for news. Second, this is the very last and I mean very LAST YWTF. In fact i don't think i'd even consider it a YWTF...more like "The Final." (I'm sure the word "final" is in a lot of our vocabularies.) I've gotten enough emails asking me plenty of things so I'm going to take care of EVERYTHING. So you might want to read this in doses. I just got the last email from Shelly, who posted too, and now I think it's time that I finally speak up.

First things first:
The future of this club has been questioned within the last week or so with the introducing of Ryan's Fan Club (the other new one). Let's get one thing clear AS OF NOW WE DO NOT INTEND TO SHUT DOWN. And no, the two parties ARE NOT the same Co- Founders/Founders/Creators...however you look at it no Holly and I did not create it. As far as I have been informed, it's serving STRICTLY as a mailing list and nothing more. It has been created by Courtney, who ran the official townsend club. The both of us for the past 2 years were under the impression that RPCC is THE OFFICIAL CLUB. But then again, P. Diddy has changed his name plenty of times too. So once everything clears up with the confusion for us, we'll let you know. We appreciate all of your continuing support. As soon as Courtney gets a hold of us we will attempt to work something out ASAP. We have been working hard (whether you can see the effort or not) for the past 2 years, we will only shut down if we feel that RPCC has exhausted all efforts to remain a productive group.

Now, the big part:
Yes Townsend broke up. A few of you have asked me to pass a message along to this Townsender or that and asking if an email or PO Box still works. I honestly cannot tell you because I don't know anymore. Their private ones work for those of you who have that address and not the old townsendmusic.com ones.

So what do I think? I think it's been a long ride. I do believe that the people I have meet and built friendships with the past 4+ years have been fabulous. I love everyone that I've met and will continue to keep in touch with them. The friendships we have had go far past the guys. People like Amber and Amy and the Dream Team have been there for me constantly for advice and friendships like theirs i truly cherish.

Can I tell you the "real scoop"? The real scoop is this, the guys just didn't work anymore. Townsend didn't work anymore. Good things do have to come to an end...you know, like a rollercoaster ride. You could have never expected us to be riding this one till we were 30. You have to understand that Townsend was more than a music group, they were 5 human beings with 5 individual personalities that were all different. They worked hard and explored every avenue that their careers offered them. They loved what they did, they loved who they met, but most importantly they loved being able to be themselves and people accepting them for doing so. Yes a piece of us died last year when they called it all to a hault. And yes, coming to terms with it was unbelieveable for them to stop when they seemed to be unstoppable, Dom's knee didn't even keep him from performing. NOT ending Townsend would be postponing the inevitable of them doing so.

My dad has ALWAYS said, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." The thing is, Townsend was too good to be true. Look at it, 5 VERY attractive, straight, smart, intelligent, funny men who loved talking with the ladies. If that's not too good to be true then God never created Chocolate and McDonalds. How do you expect for them to be working round the clock for their careers and never get tired? They aren't Superman, Spiderman, or the Hulk, they were simply, Todd, Nick, Dom, Matt, and Ryan. They were born from normal families with normal parents and were raised with as much love and affection that any child could ever ask for. But no where did they learn that there are 24 hours in a day. The five of them made 25 hour days and 8 day weeks. They worked with so much effort and perfectionalism the whole time they were Townsend. Eventually, the extra of everything set in and enough became enough.

I remember when my Grandfather was diagnosed with cancer for the last time that he wasn't tired of it not getting better, he was tired of waiting for it to get better. He taught me that one of the worst things a human being can do is wait for what you know is to come. In this situation this was bound to happen, and it did. Maybe it happened at a time when you were a new fan, or maybe it happened at a time when you were following every step and was just looking forward to the next. Wherever you stood and however you knew the guys, you had to have known how hard they worked. All avenues were exhausted and like an old car, nuts and bolts just weren't working anymore, it had traveled many miles and now it was time to retire the car.

It's been a while since I wrote one of these, and it's been more than a while since the last time i really wrote about the guys as "Townsend." I've been past it, a lot of us have been trying to cope w/ it but even more so, carrying on with our lives. I have found a lot and have welcomed it w/ open arms. There are 5 main parts to my life, family & friends, this very club, acting, working, and "tweek work" with some very "ExQuisite" people. While I wish i could manage more, i cannot spread myself so thinnly and will refuse to compromise the role i play in any and everything i put my heart, soul, and work into. I have made many new friends and have kept the awesome ones i have met already. One important slogan i always carry with me, "The end isn't a period, it is merely a comma." Life goes on, as will the all of the fans, the amazing clubs created over that time, and the friendships we have made.

Stay Safe & Stay You
Love Always,
