Your Weekly Townsend Fix Column 47

Hey Everyone! I don't know why that last column was so bad. I'm more relaxed now, even though spring break is drawing to a close...I'm relaxed. I'm listening to Michael Jackson: Greatest Hits History Volume I. I'm absolutely in love with this CD. I highly reccomend it for any of you who can remember the early to mid 80s era. I got it today when I went shopping, it was at this discount CD store. I also found Def Leppard's greatest hits. The first track was Pour Some Sugar On Me. This particular day I found all this we were on a long road day trip. We went to St. Helena, Napa, Yountville (yes it's a place), Sonoma, and Vacaville. My mom had a lot of noise in the car, my dad trying to figure out where to go on the trip, my kid sister babbling about God knows what (probably something interesting but I just didn't pay attention), and then there was me, I was singing into a lint roller to every song that was on whatever CD was in the player. I sang everything from PYT to Jessica Andrews to yes Townsend. My mom got fed up with me being a mini-rock star in the backseat and turned off the music mid "Tonight Is For You" I continued to complete the song acapella...trust me, it's a good thing you weren't in there. It was fun though. When my mom hid the lint roller in the front seat I started singing into a sunglasses case....haha I turned that and a Peach Snapple bottle into a microphone. So, I went to Chevy's for dinner and there was the cutest waiter. I just wanted to share that with you, I just want to say there was a cute waiter. lol. I hadn't seen a attractive guy all day and seeing an attractive waiter guy made me happy at the end of the day, I bet you he wasn't even really attractive he was just on the more attractive end of guys I've seen all day. Speaking of attractive guys. Do you share pictures of Townsend with your family? No I'm not talking just your sister or mom or something, I'm talking cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents? I do, first let me talk about the cousins. My 23-year old cousin (which makes him Todd's age) thinks it's funny that I've found interest in a group with a guy as old as my cousin. He jokinly says stuff like "Oh look I'm 23, better get in a boy band!" In fact a couple of weeks ago he called up just to say hi. I had no idea who it was! It sounded kinda like Todd but then again when I miss one of the guys any guy can sound like Todd. So I go on to ask who it is an he goes "Oh one of your Townsend boys gave me your number and they said you were cute so I thought I'd give you a holla." I almost hung up on the guy and called one of the guys to scream at them for giving some stranger my number. But then I realized that they wouldn't do that and I got suspicious. He's like "Kristen it's your cousin." It had to have been Travis because the rest of my boy cousins haven't gone through puberty and even though I said that any of them could sound like Todd...sounding like my younger cousins is a pretty long stretch. My other oldest cousin (I'm third oldest) has a thing for Nick. She's 19 and we've grown up best friends. We haven't had one fight but whenever we have a fight with someone else we lean on each other. She thinks Nick is cute and hasn't found the guts to come to any of the events I want her to go to. She planned on going to Tracy with one of her friends (since she gets lost easily) and then she said "My friend's prettier than I am." And used that as a way to get out of it. I'm sorry her last boyfriend (Bryan with a Y) was one of the hottest guys in Concord. If she wasn't my cousin and practically my sister I"d hate her for being able to have whatever guy she wants. I'm glad she hasn't realized that yet too. But yeah she think's Nick is cute. I'll send her a picture I took of him and she becomes a 5 year old. My younger cousins don't quite get the concept of it all. Except for maybe the next youngest cousin I have. I think she's 9 or 10, she gets the concept of "hott." The fact that I know a guy who knows O-Town and was almost in O-Town...haha that's such a trip for her. That's just my mom's side. On my dad's side all my cousins are younger than me. I'm the oldest. The next oldest is Melanie. The oldest cousin I have on that side is in second grade and he's a boy...he still thinks I have cooties so I don't think I'll even try to conquer that route of educational teaching Kristen 101. My aunts and uncles think it's "cute." My aunt, the mom of the two oldest cousins think that all of them are cute boys, especially Nick, like mother like daughter. My youngest aunt on my mom's side think they're all "handsome." My dad's sister and brother all have fun listening about the latest "Townsend Expedition." I can go on with my aunt on that side for a good hour on Ryan's hair pending her 2 year old baby girl doesn't cry or hurt herself while playing with her brother. My uncle on that side has got to be the coolest uncle ever. He's the kinda guy that I share CDs with. He asked if he could borrow my NSync CD, in return I borrowed his Limp Bizkit CD. When I talk about Townsend with him he gives me a hard time but thinks it's cool. I can't go wrong with him. My grandmothers. Oh man, my grammy bear on my mom's side thinks that Dominic's cute. My Lola on my dad's side thinks Rye, Todd, and Matt are cute. When she saw a picture of me she asked me who he was and I said "My big brother." She had to recount all of her kids lol. Her fave is Rye it's really funny...she has a Philipino accent so when she says "he's very handsome" it comes out "he's berry andsum." My grandmothers are adorable, sometimes they talk to me about finding boyfriends and husbands after I hear about how they met my grandfathers they'll start name dropping possible "suitors." If I had a nickel for everytime I heard "one of those band boys" I'd be rich. I know that this probably in no way interests you. In fact I'm almost sure it doesn't but I think that if you don't have a really close relationship to someone in your family, talking about Townsend would be a good barrier breaker. If you can't talk about how hott they are then maybe how Nick and Dom are firefighters, or how Matt has had a busy life, or how Todd's dad and step mom work for NASA and how he went to space camp. Townsend has a very universal way of working. I know I've been avoiding talking about the one thing you probably want me to talk about. I've gotten plenty of emails since Tuesday about the shutting down of the Townsendboys.com site and the Townsendmusic.com site. I've been asked what my opinion is, to clarify the situation, and so on. I've been dodging this topic for a long time because for about 72 hours (even before I was aware of the sites deletion) I've been trying to prepare myself for the emails and what I might say. Well here's the thing. I was expecting the site to come down for a while now and even to now I'm speechless and at a loss for words to how I'm reacting to it. I mean I know that a big work load has been taken off of Bob & Wendy but still, you can't help but miss it you know? Let's face it, how many sites have what that site had? The environment that the site had was EXTREMELY different than any other site. It had kind of a half informational half family type of vibe going on. We went there to get informed on the latest but also went up in there to share the trials, tribulations, and happiest moments we had personally, that didn't include the guys. Bob and Wendy truly united all of us. I think we owe it to them to why all of us are so close. We would have to rely on IM if that message board wasn't there. Do you have any idea how hard it is to maintain one of those things? The site was a big part of all of us and even though townsendmusic.com will be up (whenever that may be) it will never ever compare to what townsendboys.com was. I know I'm partial to that site because of everything but it's true. The new webmaster could add every single visual feature possible but nothing will compare to the memories we've had on that board. I think it was because we interacted with each other and something better than any webmaster, a parent, friend, and fan all in one. I am just thankful that I was given the oppertunity to be a part of that site because it really meant something to me. Now, a couple of emails have brought up how the deletion of the site have confused them and such. Well, I'll make it plain and simple for you, every thing became more complicated than Bob and Wendy deserved for it to become. I truly think that even though the site is down that it was in the best interest after a long run that was longer than expected. Bob and Wendy have strong mental health to deal with the upkeeping of that site. So that's just what it was, everything got complicated. Now I'm not saying that they gave up. In fact that's the last thing they did. Just when they thought that they could pass the torch to the next webmaster they were asked to keep up that site some more and they did. They gave it everything. Bob wrote, Joy wrote, Wendy keep the site as clean and family oriented as the sites come. Do I think they did the right thing? Yes absolutely. If I could give them some sort of award for all they did, I would. They handled everything past human sanity. They have done so much and deserve 100 times more recognition for it all. With the site gone, yes a bit of all of us have died. But they did everything the could possibly do. Townsendmusic.com hopefully will be up soon so we have some sort of informational link to the guys. My sources have been townsendstreetteam.com and word of mouth. Hopefully I can find information on the next appearance I can make so I can schedule it in. Well, regardless of what happens I'm sure townsendmusic.com will be good. If it can be at least half of what townsendboys.com was, the webmaster will have succeeded. Stay Safe & Stay You Love Always, Kristen xoxoxo
