Your Weekly Townsend Fix Column 28
Hey Everyone!
Well, Saturday was great.
Yes it rained and yes we did get kinda wet...but did
it damper our spirits??? NO! Ok shall I retrace the
steps so you get a better picture? Here's my diary of
Saturday, December 29....
I got up early, everyone
was pretty surprised to see me awake before
lunchtime. It was probably because I wanted to get there
BEFORE lunchtime. Anyways we left on schedule and got to
the mall around 12ish. I walked into Gloria Jeans and
saw some nice familiar faces. I also saw Tami, Todd's
younger sister. Courtney of the Official Club, Kaitlyn of
the Dream Team, and Amber of the Promo Crew were
there when I got there as some of the very many
representatives of other clubs that would soon show up! Over a 24
oz. Vanilla Iced Latte from Gloria Jeans (as
suggessted by Courtney) I got comfy for a wait surrounded by
people I either knew or was getting to know. At first
there was conversation and then we played a road game I
play with my cousins. It's called "Never Have I Ever"
well the game goes so that whoever loses gets to bring
an accomplice to do the dare given by the group.
Well Amber and I squealed "OMG TOWNSEND IS COMING IN
ONE HOUR!" In the middle of the Ship Court. We had a
couple people look at us but others kinda figure that we
were a bunch of Teeny Boppers. Partially because I
looked like one. I had my "I Love Townsend" T-Shirt over
my long sleeved shirt and totally had a shoelace
belt that said "I <3 Boys" all the way down. It
actually was amusing to a good group of people. Including
Amy who showed up with Tamara and had noticed it. And
that's what I"m here for...sheer amusment right? Well,
welcome to my life.
After we played we had a
couple scenario questions from a book Amber brought...we
decided after about the 5th question that the words were
too big and that Nick who uses the phrase
"Potentially Hostile" would benefit from the book. We looked
out the door to see the Bowl by the Bay Store putting
up Townsend posters! So here's the merchandise list.
We got 2 colors of shirt, grey and white, same
picture in sizes small, medium, and large $25 per
T-shirt. They also had $7 posers of the guys. I actually
figured I'd get one for the guys to sign. As in line I
hear my name being called. I looked around and saw
Mary & Holly!!! Holly had given me some pictures from
the airshow...which I love! Thank you Holly! They
were from the "Just Say Goodbye" performance...to this
very day the song makes me, mom, and Mel all
misty...to even watch the tape makes me bawl. I took some
random pictures to finish the roll and then exposed
it...whoops. Well...what can I do? Really...besides pray that
I hadn't messed up the ENTIRE roll. Well amongst Courtney, Amber, Kaitlyn and myself,
we decided we'd flip out when we saw the guys. So we
did...kinda...I think we were kinda tired from talking so much.
Well the guys sat down after their special ways of
greeting. They sat Ryan, Nick, Todd, Dom, and Matt. You
should've seen them, they were the most adorable guys in
the world. And I had missed them a lot. I hadn't seen
any of their performances post-airshow. Well Rye was
a sweetie when I saw him...I asked him to sign the
shirt from halloween...and he did. Nick laughed...a lot
actually. I looked at Todd and saw the blue Ring Pop he was
eating was quickly getting smaller...but the color and
size of his lips and teeth...well that just got
bigger. He gave me a big hug. i almost didn't want to let
go! But I did, eventually. Dom was his usual charming
self, and Matt..the most smiley guy I had ever seen! He
was all smiles and I loved it! He gave me hugs and I
was happy despite the rain...which normally makes me
a grump. After all the guys had signed the shirt
and Matt wrote a heartfelt message...I had proceeded
with Court & Amber to leave the line since mall
security was kinda bossy...they think just because they
have handcuffs they can push us around...geez people.
Things went kinda fast so we took a break. We
talked to Bob and Amy for a while and then the three of
us sat down in three chairs. They were those wooden
kinds, you know the ones people sit on while they visit
the beach in movies. I gave Court & Amber and myself
a penny and we all made a wish and threw it in.
(Let's just see if they come true!) Then we decided to
be boppers and get in line again. We met Amanda
("Spaz") from Reflektion in line, I also met Lisa, and ran
into our Crazy Meg. The line took about 8 hours to
move once but we didn't really care we were keeping
occupied doing stuff kids do when they're antsy. We got to
the front and met a guy who no joke...could've been
related to Cullen Stack. Long story, no mention. Well we
finally got back up there again. I think Rye kinda looked
at us like "Weren't you here?" Well Nick said that
my shirt (the one they had just signed) looked like
it was blinking and I revealed my walkie
talkie...which apparently is a cool thing to guys. Todd, well
Todd's mouth was blue. REALLY BLUE. I'm talking little
kid, ICEE Blue BLUE. I loved it though, how can you
not love a guy who is proud of something like that?
He has a smile to die for so he took a shot full on
smiling for my camera. Dom was next. I don't remember
what he told me but I remember laughing and Matt asked
if he could write the same message again on the
poster that they were currently signing. I told him no
and to be creative. He gave me another hug. Ok so we didn't get in line again but we saw Meg
in line again. I of course had to be a ham and I
recorded a message. Something tells me that the camera and
I aren't on the same level because I'm always
caught doing something stupid, funny, just non-serious.
It was fun though we talked to Bob & Wendy who had
showed up and socialized with them. Bob & Wendy are
great people...I hope all of you get to meet them! We
stood around and decided that it was time to go to
Century Theaters where the guys would be performing (not
pending rain any more I heard). So I headed off with Meg,
Court, Amber, Amy, and Tamara. We passed Jerry
Rice...can you tell we are girls? None of us cared and even
bothered with a second glance. The Michigan State band was
playing and that was pretty loud. There was a lot of
noise but I seemed to not really care...surprisingly.
There was already a group of girls...a layer of girls
in front of the stage. We didn't get in line but
rather passed the time looking for something fun. Well
thanks to Tamara...aka "RaRa" from the Street Team...I
attempted my first "Grab" picture...well things didn't go
according to plan. And if you don't believe me I have,
Amber, Court, Meg, Amy, RaRa, the Saber Kittens, some
Townsend fans, and the entire Fresno football team to
vouch for me.
Well we were told Townsend
wasn't going to perform till the end...Fresno still had
THEIR side of the rally to do...so Sheerin, Stella,
Jackie, Court, Amber, Dad, Mel, and I stood against the
wall (my mom was MIA). Bob (TRex) told us to go stand
in the middle because Townsend fans were acting as a
median to the two teams. We figured we'd play it safe
since we didn't want to get bombarded in a crowd. We
stayed put and before you could say "help" we were
cornered by the tubas of Fresno State's band. They seemed
phsyced out. Eventually we started to migrate and moved
towards the stage. Blah...the band kept playing. Don't
get me wrong...go band...but I was only feelin' it
for so long you know? I looked at Pam (Kaitlyn's cool
mom) and we both kinda looked around for a clock.
Showtime came...THANK GOD and the guys were about
to go on. I was on the left side of the stage with a
video camera. The dancers came on...it was actually the
first time I had seen the dancers perform so I was
kinda interested by it all. The guys took stage and
besides the sound cutting out (I think the rain might've
gotten to it since it was kinda wet outside) the guys
did a great job. Matt's parents were there for sound
and Jacob...Matt's little brother...is seriously a
mini-Matt. So cute! Good looking family, I hadn't seen them
before. The guys did their "Just Say Goodbye" song and
Matt and Rye totally harmonized a duet part! Bestill
my heart I tell ya. Finally "Tonight is for You"
blasted. This song kept me going, after "Just Say Goodbye"
I was kinda misty and was trying to wipe whatever
visible tears there were under my eyes. The song got me
going and made me smile. They all did an awesome job to
the song...Todd came up and got up in my camera and
Matt was all up in Meg's. It was great and I was all
smiles. After that we all kinda dispersed. I saw Bob &
Wendy and took a picture with them and talked with them
for a bit. We heard "Pour Some Sugar On Me" while
standing around! GREAT SONG! I thought my family had
planned on leaving so I agreed to leave. I missed "Just
Close Your Eyes" and was bummed but oh well. Well we
did some more shopping and I just kinda sat around. I
had a lot of time to sit and think about the past
day's events. I went in thinking "Ok whatever goes down
today is a testimony to some of the things I've been
hearing about the guys since I haven't seen them in
forever." It was a testimony...to everything I thought. The
guys are the same, they're still great, and still have
the ability to make me miss them more than an arm's
length for a hug. I was saddened that they had to leave.
They're still the same and I can't stress that enough.
The day came to an end and I was tired. We went to
the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner in Oakland and I
nearly fell alseep waiting to be seated. I think my dad
took a picture of me falling alseep next to my mom in
some big chairs.
All in all, a perfect day.
The rain didn't damper anyone's spirits. Everyone was
great! And I enjoyed seeing everyone, Amber, Court, Meg,
Bob, Wendy, Tami, Holly, Mary, Kaitlyn, her mom Pam,
Sheerin, Sheerin, Stella, Jackie, RaRa, Amy, Amanda, Lisa,
and the list really goes on and on. Among the faces
missed were Joy, Andrea, and Katie. I have to say that
it doesn't matter where I am but the "Townsend
community" makes everything brighter and a lot more
fun...inlcuding rainy weather! I hope that everyone that goes to
the football game and Radio Disney events have a
great time and I want pictures! The performance was
great! No need to review since it was on television! I'm
really proud of the guys and couldn't be happier for
them! Congrats on a wonderful peformance guys...and
congrats for your TV premire Courtney!!! Have a safe and
fun New Years. Remember that things can get dangerous
around this time of year so play it safe! Happy New Year
to you and your family from Rye's Party Crew
Club.
Stay SAFE & Stay You!
Love
Always,
Kristen
