How I Met the Guys

Hi, I am Kaitlyn Williams from Santa Rosa. I love Townsend very much and I hope I can see them again sometime soon. Just to let you know this is my story of how I met the guys and where. I hope you like it. There are also pictures with the guys and me.

Townsend. . .The most down to earth guys I know. The first time was June 23, 2001. Aaron Carter concert at Great America. I was with two of my friends, Heather and Danelle. Heather got hooked up with the tickets, which included park admission. We got in line for the concert about an hour early. When we got inside we saw four very cute guys sitting next to the Radio Disney Booth (Nick was gone at a wedding). We got in line and someone told us that they were Townsend. At some point during the school year we heard that Justin Timberlake’s cousin was in the group. But we found out that it wasn’t true. Then Heather had a great idea. She wrote her name and number on a piece of paper. Danelle and I went the extra step and put our email address down. After awhile it was our turn for the autographs. Dom was really out-going and sweet. Matt was kinda shy but had the cutest smile. When he said his name I thought he said Brian (don’t ask). We realized that he was really shy. By the time I got to Todd he was rapping to "Tonight is for you." We got a picture with them and went to our seats. We were talking about the guys till after the opening acts. The only opening act I remember is Myra; who happens to be from my hometown and dated my crush. Moving on. . .We decided to go back to the guys and talk to them. By that time the guys were standing up and talking to people. Heather slipped Dom the papers with our name and emails. I am pretty sure that it was Danelle that noticed Matt passing out some CDs. So I went over and got one for each of us. After standing around for a few minutes Danelle and I heard Heather screaming about something. Danelle and I went over there and found out that she was spazing out about Matt being on "Making the Band." I felt so sorry for him. He was REALLY scared. After a while Heather, Danelle and I were standing around talking. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Todd come out of the bathroom and got a drink from the water fountain. We went over there and of course, got a drink from the water fountain. We were acting like the guys were really famous. But who wouldn’t? We weren’t in the mood for watching Aaron so we decided to go out of the stadium. My friends and I were talking and Todd came up to us to say goodbye. Then we saw each of the guys leaving separately. We got tired of standing there so we went to hit one more ride. We headed for Stealth since we didn’t get to hit it earlier in the day. We were standing in line for about 15 minutes and I noticed that Matt was about 20 people ahead of us. He was with some fans. My friends were spazing out since he supposedly kept looking at us. I ended up getting sick before I got on the ride so I went to go get my stuff. Danelle and Heather came off and we headed for the parking lot. We went to Heather’s mom’s car and put out stuff in. Then we saw three of the guys, Matt, Ryan and Dom. We decided that we should go over and talk to them since they didn’t have any fans with them. Danelle got their attention. The guys turned around and stopped and waited for us to catch up. We got out of the middle of the road, stopped and started talking. After a while the guys said that they had to go. Dom came up to me and gave me a hug! I almost passed out. Then Matt gave me a hug. Ryan was being really quite and I asked him if I could get a hug. He smiled and said sure. Then Matt and Heather were talking and Heather said she wanted to keep in touch with him. He needed a pen so he could give her his email address. I whipped out a pen. He ended up on handing his email to me instead of Heather. After Matt left I started running with the paper so Heather couldn’t take it from me. Heather yelled after me. I got in the car. Then came Danelle and Heather. She got the paper from me but by that time I already memorized it. We headed home listening to the CD. We didn’t get back till about 1 in the morning. Let’s just say the Monday after, Dom emailed me!

The second time was the second time was the second NSYNC show. I got there really early. On the pictures of the website I can the twins apart; but in person I couldn’t. So I went up to one of them handed him a flyer to sign. I saw it was Nick and ask for a picture. But I guess he broke my camera since my camera didn’t take that picture. I went to the rest of the guys ,except for Dom, and got pictures. Right when I was going up to him he had to go to the table. I got in line and he signed my stuff for me and got the guys to take a group picture with me. I moved on and stand there for several hours. Let’s just say that I am their official paparazzi. I have so many spontaneous pictures it’s crazy!!! Right before the NSYNC concert I was able to get a few more pictures and said good-bye to them.



The third time was in Santa Cruz. My parents planned a four-day trip for me, but the condition was that they were going to be there with me. But it evolved Townsend so whatever it takes!!! We got there about 3 hours before it started so I went shopping and then waited for them. We saw about three acts before Townsend. Then they had this contest to have Townsend sing to you. You had to scream for Townsend and then Radio Disney took you on stage to hula- hoop. Well I was one of those girls. Lets just say that my Official Townsend Club Pass got in my way (Thanks Joy…j/k) But at least I had my 2 minutes of fame.

So I watched the show taking a million pictures. I got in line for autographs while my mom bought me a shirt. Since Nick wasn’t doing anything my mom was able to get him to sign it. I waited in line for an half an hour . I was the next person in line and they had to go to let the next singing artists to do autographs. I was really mad. I handed my mom my camera and went up do Dom before he left. I was able to get a picture with him and an autograph. I was happy to get that much. Before that happened someone was passing out flyers about the former member Jayden. I saw him after I talked to Dom, so I go a picture with him and an autograph. He was really nice.




The latest time was at the mall in Milpitas. It was great since they had posters. I got one and I had some pictures for the guys to sign and the lovely Demo-CD. I went through the line twice and my camera took pictures both times around. Ryan had the hardest time remembering my name. Nick and I were able to talk. Todd had the bluest teeth ever. Dom was his normal self, being sweet and asking how my Christmas went. And Matt actually smiled in the pictures. At NSYNC he didn’t. . .at least in most pictures. After they were done doing autographs I went up to Matt to see if I could get a group photo. He said sure so I was about to go behind the table and their security guard had a fit. ( Which I can kinda understand. ) So the guys came out from behind the table and took one with me. Ryan by that time had my name down. I went to the stage area and waited for the guys. I was able to get in the front so I had my camera ready. I wish that I had saved 1 picture!!! During "Tonight is For You" all the guys were touch all the fans hand. I put out my hand when Nick came around. . .the smartest thing I have done my whole life. Nick knelled down, held my hand and sang to me!!! I had teary eyes when he was done. When the show was over I was in the best mood ever. Plus I got at the mall at 10 and got some shoes and T-shirts.

I hoped that ya’ll liked it if you read it all the way. Maybe if I write another one it will be a fan fiction story. When I write those the end up being really hilarious. Later…….
