An insider's look at Townsend...Chapter Eleven

Yesterday, Saturday August 21st, Townsend participated in Radio Disney’s promotion at the *NSYNC concert in Oakland. As I am writing this column I’m preparing myself mentally for today’s promotion. The guys signed autographs for nearly four hours straight.

I want to thank all of you that helped the guys with the Radio Disney and Townsend promotions yesterday. I find it so rewarding to work with so many wonderful young people. Joy, as usual, did an excellent job coordinating all of the fans, the Street Team, the Official Townsend Club and all the other fan clubs. I also want to thank Julie Tittle, and Mr. Torres (Ryan’s dad) for being there and for everything they did to help. I was thinking, maybe I should relinquish my Mr. T Rex title to Mr. Torres. Drop the "or" and the "s" and add an "x" and wala. I especially want to thank Wendy for preparing the new fliers on such short notice. She was able design the photo card (flier) and have 20,000 of them printed in less than a week. I received lots of very favorable comments about the new photo card from the fans, and the cards have been invaluable in spreading the word about Townsend.

Not to take any of the limelight away from the guys, but it was nice to meet so many T Rex fans yesterday. I’m slowly gaining on the guys. I figure that they have about 5000 fans at this point and I have about 15. Of course, Wendy, my daughter Tami and four of the Townsend guys are included in the 15. Todd still refuses to be a T Rex fan. Of the 5000 or so Townsend fans I bet a 1000 of them live in Oregon. I think that 200 or so of the fans are current or previous girl friends of the guys. At least that’s what I am guessing based on what they (the girls) tell me.

For all you new fans that are checking out the site for the first time, I’m Todd’s dad. I’m also Townsend’s manager. If you have 30 minutes or so I recommend that you read the previous insiders columns. Start with the first. You will learn an awful lot about the guys that way. Usually after an event like this I get all kinds of questions (emails) about Townsend. Please, please, please read the early insider columns before you send me a bunch of questions. It will save me several hours in responding to your emails. If you can’t find the answers that you’re looking for, by all means, ask.
For the Townsend fans that have been around for a while, the following comment is directed at you. No!! We have not selected a winner for the last contest yet. We have so many that are so close. I must say that I am very disappointed that we did not have a "fan club" winner. And, I do not want to hear any fan club whining. We were going to have a special Townsend party for the fan club that won. Oh darn! Don’t ask! I will not cave and do it anyway. Sheerin and Stella, I’m especially referring to the both of you.

Okay, now I must get ready to go to day two of the *NYSNC concert and Radio Disney/Townsend promotion. My ears are still ringing from last night. I’ll be real happy when I can turn the management of Townsend over to someone who at least likes this kind of work.
