CARLOS POLE-VAULTS INTO BRAVE NEW WORLD; BOSCO BORROWS TROUBLE WITH DRUG SNARE -- Self-assured Carlos (Anthony Ruivivar) learns humility the hard way when he falls from the firefighters' pole and must remain overnight in a hospital with a hateful, crazed drunk (guest star Joel Marsh Garland) for a roommate -- and an attractive nurse (guest star Annie Parisse) on duty -- while Officer Bosco (Jason Wiles) lays a trap for a drug dealer and gets the surprise of his life. Elsewhere: newlywed Officer Sully (Skipp Sudduth) regrets ever bringing his invalid mother home with his new wife (Savannah Haske); Doc (Michael Beach) opens up when he chances upon an old trusted friend (guest star Michael Rispoli); and paramedics Taylor (Amy Carlson) and Kim (Kim Raver) find common ground when they are forced to team up for the day.
