LATEST NEWS:

Heath recently reuknighted with Shannyn and Brian Helgeland to film a movie called 'Sin Eater' in Rome. This movie will most likely be coming out the end of this year or the beginning of 2003. More... As far as who Heath's dating right now, I never give out this information because it is highly mis-told, and I'd rather have you find that information out at a different site where I can't be criticized for having wrong information. Sorry! Check other Heath Ledger websites, and good luck finding the truth. :)

BIOGRAPHY:

His name is Heath Andrew Ledger. He's 23 years old, born on April 4, 1979 at Subiaco Hospital in Western Australia. Heath grew up in the town of Perth, Australia where he first became interested in acting at the all boys school he attended, Guilford Grammar School. He began at the Guilford Theatre Company, and was soon appearing on substantial Australian television shows. His mother named him and his older sister after Heathcliff and Catherine from Emily Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights.' Heigh has naturally light brown hair that he recently dyed blond, and brown eyes. He is 6'3". At age 10, Heath's parents, Kim Ledger and Sally Bell split up. He now has a stepmother named Emma Ledger and a stepfather named Roger Bell. He also has two stepsisters, Olivia Ledger (born in 1997) and Ashleigh Bell (born in 1989), along with his older sister. Heath attended the Guilford Grammar School, an all boys school, where he excelled in hockey and drama. Heath's older sister had done a lot of acting, and she was what inspired him. At the age of 15, Heath's hockey coach gave him a choice: hockey or the silver screen. Aren't we so glad he chose the silver screen!

Heath graduated at age 16 and drove off to Sydney with his best friend Trevor DiCarlo (the two have been close ever since they were "knee-highs") in search of a career or at least a few bucks. And Heath did. In 1997 he got a role in an Australian TV series, 'Blackrock.' Soon he moved on to 'Sweat' and played Australia's first gay teenage role. Afterwards, he took off for the United States (Hollywood) and got a role on the show 'Roar' with Keri Russell on Fox comedy. The show didn't get many reviews, however. After refusing many offers because of the lack of depth in the scripts, the role in '10 Things' caught his eye, and that was what made him the popular heart throb he is today.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

* WHO IS HEATH DATING?: Read above.
* IS IT TRUE HEATH HAS A PET KANGAROO?: Yes. It was rescued after it's mother was killed.
* WHAT ARE HEATH'S HOBBIES?: Tennis, surfing, poetry writing, photography, snowboarding, and horseback riding
* WHO ARE HIS FAVORITE ACTORS?: Gene Kelly and Judy Garland. And at one point he quoted that he wished he could get a role opposite Mel Gibson. Well, looks like he got that wish!
* HEATH DANCED REALLY WELL IN AKT. DOES HE REALLY DANCE?: Sure. In high school, Heath co-ordinated a team to take part in a nation-wide high school dance competition.
* IS IT TRUE THAT HEATH SMOKES?: Occasionally. He has tried to quit, but he still smokes once in awhile.
* DOES HEATH HAVE ANY TATTOOS?: Heath has one permanent tattoo on his right bicep of the center of the universe (sun, moon, earth) that he designed himself. If you see other tattoos in pictures, such as the rose on his chest or the ying yang on his left bicep, they were temporaries for a movie.
* WHAT KIND OF GIRL DOES HEATH WANT?: Heath is a big fan of honesty.
* WHAT WOULD HEATH BE DOING IF HE WASN'T ACTING?: "I'd probably be walking around the world in a pair of sneakers with a backpack, searching for something to do. I'd probably paint, or have something to do with children. I'd like to be a teacher.. Or paint with my hands or something."
* IS HIS FULL NAME REALLY HEATHCLIFFE ANDREW RUFUS GREGORY FITZPATRICK PETER BOB LEDGER?: No. Some people believe this because in an interview, Heath once stated that this was his full name. The host said, "Really?" and Heath replied, "No, I just made that up."
* WHAT'S UP WITH THE DIGERIDOO?: When Heath was interviewed by Brian Helgeland for 'A Knight's Tale,' Heath had a little instrument with him. When Helgeland asked what it was, Heath said it was a 'digeridoo.' Helgeland asked if he could play it, and Heath said "If I couldn't, why would I be carrying it around?" So he began to play it right there in the restaurant at the airport. Right then, Helgeland knew Heath was perfect for the part. "Anyone who would play a digeridoo for me in an airport restaurant definitely has something going on."
Another cool fact...when Heath was trying out for a part in a TV show, one of the requirements was you had to know how to horseback ride. Sshhh, don't tell anyone, but Heath fibbed a little bit by saying he knew how to horseback ride. He had to go out and learn...fast! Ever since, he's liked it.
