The World Of Giovanni & Sebastian

Giovanni & Sebastian have been together now since 1996 and have released three albums, all of which were prominent in the Balkan hit parade.

Giovanni, from Gjirokastra, a city in southern Albania with an ancient history, that lies on the hills of Mali I Gj’r (The Wide Mountain), on the eastern side of the valley of Drinos, is the lead singer and also farms over 40 acres of land on Mbishkodra, next to the Shkodra lake (Liqeni I Shkodr’s), between the rivers Drin and Bun, the mountain of Tarabosh and the Rozafa Castle.
He has a notorious reputation which precedes him – in 1990 he was arrested for the infamous "buggery incident" he now rarely discusses it in public, "I loved every moment" he laughed in a recent interview. His singing has been described as a cross between David Bowie and Katherine Hepburn.

Sebastian was born in the city of Butrinti (Bothrota) one of the frgments which form the fabric of Albania’s ancient cultural landscape. Throughout his childhood he nestled in the highlands in the far south of the country and was surrounded by dense vegetation.
His multi-instrumental talents are renowned throughout Albania, performing on accordian, banjo, pianola and castanets. Once described as ‘the Balkan Demis Roussos’ he is currently working on his latest book of photographs "The Dirty Kaffa Shitting on the Flaming Cross of Justice" - a polemic on racial intolerance in the southern states - but still puts his music first. "I need more property, I need more holidays so I must make more music for the fucking fans" he commented recently.

Their unique live performances utilise the services of a dwarf, Tattoo, who’s jobs include dancing, tumbling, light wrestling, being kicked and serving Rich Tea biscuits on a solid silver tray.
