Part 5

Destiny

My love for you

is constantly growing,

as I grow as a person.

You have brought out things in me

that I had never known were there.

You have taught me how to love

and how to express my feelings.

Being a part of me,

You are an essential piece of my life.

Loving you has

enriched my life

more than any words can say.

I love you, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

It is,

Although I never believed in it before,

Destiny for us to be together.

Todd is lying in his bed, asleep, clutching a picture of Tea. The only light in the room is from the moon, shining through the window. For once, his sleep is peaceful, with pleasant images filling his dreams.

"Hi," he says as he approaches the goddess sitting alone on the beach.

"Hi," she replies.

"Mind if I join you?" he asks.

"No."

"I'm Todd," he says extending his hand.

"I'm Tea."

"Nice to meet you. What are reading?"

"The Pilot's Wife," she answers.

"What's it about?"

"A woman whose husband is killed in a plane crash. Actually, he was the pilot, thus the title. Anyway, she investigates his death, and finds out quite a bit about the husband she thought she knew."

"Sounds interesting."

"So far, it is."

"You married?" Todd asks.

"No. Are you?"

"Nope. Do you think a person can truly know another person?"

"I think everybody has their secrets, that's what makes life interesting."

"Hum, that's not the answer I expected."

"What did you expect?"

"I don't know, something about complete honesty or whatever."

"I do believe in honesty, just not telling everything," Tea says as she puts down her book and stares into his eyes.

"So what's your darkest secret?"

"That's something you'll have to discover for yourself."

"Will you give me the opportunity?"

"Do you want to opportunity?'

"You are so beautiful," he says as he takes her hand into his own.

"Am I?"

"And sexy," he begins to kiss her hand, and moves up her arm.

"Go on."

"And desirable."

"Todd, what do you want from me?"

"Everything," he answers as he slowly removes her bikini top.

"But what can I give you in return?"

"Your heart, that's all. Is that too much to ask?" he stops long enough for the question to escape his lips.

"You had it from the time you sat down."

"Tea is it alright, for me, for me to do this with you? Is it okay for me to want you like this?"

"It's okay."

"I won't hurt you. I promise. I will never hurt you."

"Todd, just don't leave. Please don't leave me."

"I won't," he hungrily kisses her neck, moving downward toward her breasts.

"I won't leave you, I'll never leave you," he says as he wakes up. Todd looks around the room, searching for her. Once he realizes that he is alone, he gets out of bed and goes to the bathroom. He takes a long look in the mirror, runs his fingers through his hair, and stares into his eyes.

"What have you done to me?"

Walking back into the bedroom, he searches for his laptop, and turns it on.

Several Hours Later

The morning sunrise peaks through the bedroom window. He opens the patio doors, and steps onto the terrace. Taking a deep breath, and a morning stretch, he walks back into the bedroom. Reaching for the telephone, he dials Vicki's phone number.

"Vicki Carpenter."

"Yeah, Vicki, it's Todd."

"How are you?"

"Good," he says as he starts to pace.

"Quit pacing, and tell me what's wrong."

"I just had a dream about Tea last night, that's all," he says as he stops pacing.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not really. Have you checked your e-mail?"

"Not yet. Should I be expecting something?"

"Uh, yeah. I wrote that letter thing we talked about."

"Okay."

"Yeah, and I want you to run it in the evening edition. I want you to read it first though, make sure it doesn't sound too stupid."

"I'm sure it will be fine. I ran into Tea yesterday."

"Yeah?" he asks trying to hide the excitement in his voice.

"Uh, huh."

"Well, what did you talk about? Did she mention me?"

"You name did come up."

"And?"

"She really didn't say too much. I did get the impression though, that she still has strong feelings for you."

"Did she say that?"

"No, but as you well know, she has very expressive eyes. She doesn't have to say anything, her eyes tell it all."

"So you think she still loves me?"

"Yes, I do."
