CHAPTER 4 |
Tea: I really wish you would come forward and leave the shadows behind.
Todd: The shadows are my friends.
Tea: Fine. I give up.
Todd: Good. Are we eating or what?
[Todd and Tea eat dinner in silence.]
***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****
[After dinner, Tea is cleaning up the debris from their meal. Todd steps outside. Several minutes later Tea joins him.]
Tea: Todd?
Todd (startled out of his thoughts): Yeah? (looking toward her) What?
Tea: Are you okay?
Todd: I'm fine.
Tea: Do you want to be alone?
Todd: You want to leave?
Tea: Not yet.
Todd: But you won't stay the night?
Tea: Is that why you're out here brooding?
Todd: I have things on my mind.
[Todd watches as Tea approaches him. The light escaping through the open door of the motor home along with the light from the moon allow him a wonderful view of her. Todd is sitting on the edge of a picnic table and when she reaches him she stands directly in front of him, placing her body between his legs.]
Tea (moving her hands along the sides of his arms): Do you want to go inside?
Todd: The sooner we go in there, the sooner we do that, the sooner you leave.
Tea: Why is it so important to you that I stay?
Todd: Why is it so important to you that you don't?
Tea: It isn't.
Todd: It sounds like it is to me. You got somebody waiting back in Llanview, is that it?
Tea: You know that I don't. (pressing her body even closer to Todd's) You're it, Todd. You're all that I want.
Todd: But you don't want to spend the night in my bed? Why is that, Tea?
Tea (kissing his neck): I want to spend the next couple of hours in your bed. Isn't that enough for now?
Todd: Do you have to work the day after Thanksgiving?
Tea (still nuzzling his neck): No. Will you still be here? I could come for a visit.
Todd: You won't need to. You'll already be here.
Tea: Todd...
Todd: Tonight you can stay or not but starting tomorrow night you'll be here until the end of the weekend.
[Tea pulls back from Todd slightly to look at his face. Todd places his legs around her lower body, keeping her body close to his. He doesn't use enough pressure to prevent her from moving away from him if she really wanted to, just enough to let her know that he wants her body to stay where it is.]
Tea: I don't know, Todd.
Todd: Consider it an experiment. When I go back to Llanview on a permanent basis you'll have to put up with me full-time again.
Tea: When you go back? Just a few weeks ago it was if.
Todd: I can't stay away forever, right?
Tea: We could go back tonight.
Todd: I'm not ready yet.
Tea: Okay.
Todd: So, what about it? We don't have to stay here for the whole weekend. We could take a trip together.
Tea: We've never done this before, Todd. We've never been together all day and all night.
Todd: We lived together.
Tea: In separate bedrooms...separate beds.
Todd: We could still do that, if you wanted to.
Tea: I don't want that. I want you in my bed right now.
Todd: Oh, really?
Tea: Either that or this picnic table is going to have something different spread out on it than food.
Todd: It's a little cold out here.
[Tea begins unbuttoning his shirt.]
Tea: It feels warm to me.
Todd: Does it?
Tea: You don't feel the heat? (placing her hand on the front of his pants) I feel heat.
Todd: Maybe I feel something.
[Todd pulls Tea's sweater over her head and tosses it on the table behind him. Todd's hands instantly move to her back and begin caressing her skin as his lips make contact with her neck and shoulder. Tea has his shirt fully unbuttoned and raises his T-shirt up so that her hands can also caress his back.]
Todd: Think about it, Tea. We could do this for the entire weekend.
[Todd unclasps Tea's bra and moves it out of the way so he can touch her breasts unrestricted. Tea gasps at the contact.]
Todd: Would you like that?
[Tea brings her mouth down to his and kisses him deeply, showing him what she likes.]
