Todd: Come on, Delgado. Just once this century, I want someone to tell me the truth. You're my best shot. On second thought, don't bother. You'll just end up lying to me, too.
Tea: I won't lie to you.
Todd: You won't answer my question, either. It's okay. I know the answer. You think I'm scum, just like everyone else does.
Tea: I'm not everyone else, Todd. I have my own mind, my own feelings. You can't judge me based on the choices others have made.
Todd: Can I judge you on the choices you made? You ditched me. You ran, the first chance you got.
Tea: That's not true.
Todd: Lies!
Tea: I did leave you. I won't deny that. It certainly wasn't the first chance I had, though.
Todd: So it was the second chance. Whatever! You still took off on me.
Tea: I was scared.
Todd: Of me?
Tea: Of my feelings.
Todd: Not this garbage again.
[Todd walks to the other side of Tea's small living room. Tea stands up and approaches him.]
Tea: This isn't garbage. You wanted the truth. This is the truth. I was scared. I was terrified of what I felt, of how much I felt...for you. When I'm with you, you make me feel so...
[Tea pauses for several seconds, searching for the right words to explain her feelings to him.]
Todd: You're lucky.
[Tea looks at him with a questioning look on her face.]
Todd: The limo's back.
Tea: How could you possibly know that?
Todd: My pants are vibrating.
[Todd pulls his cell phone out of his pants pocket and shows it to her to explain what he's referring to.]
Todd: I'll be right back.
[Todd walks toward her door and opens it.]
Tea: Are you really coming back?
Todd: Do you want me to leave something with you, to prove it?
[Todd tosses his phone in her direction. She catches it.]
Todd: Let it ring...or vibrate...or whatever. Enjoy yourself, until I get back.
[Todd leaves her apartment. Tea looks down at the vibrating phone in her hands and laughs at the dirty thought she's almost certain Todd meant by his comment.
The minutes pass, in a painfully slow manner, as she waits for his return, uncertain if he really will return. She knows that their conversation entered an emotional territory that he probably didn't wanted to venture into. He may stay away because of it.
Finally, Tea hears a loud pounding against her door. She opens it and immediately begins to laugh loudly. Before her is Todd Manning, wearing a silly paper birthday hat, carrying a large birthday cake in his hands.]
Todd: What's so funny?
Tea: You are.
Todd: Don't laugh. This hat's going on your head, as soon as you get out of my way and let me in.
[Tea steps aside, allowing Todd to enter her apartment. She closes the door and joins him in the living room, as he places the cake on the coffee table.]
Tea: Todd, you didn't have to do this.
Todd: This is all part of the big birthday fest I've been planning this whole time.
Tea: I know you forgot my birthday, if you ever knew when it was to begin with. It's okay. You don't have to pretend.
[Todd removes the hat from his head and approaches Tea. They both feel nervous as Todd enters her personal space and places the hat on her head.]
Todd: There. Now you look like an idiot...a very old idiot.
[Tea places her hands on his chest and pushes against him playfully.]
Tea: Watch it, Manning.
[They both linger in their current physical position, neither wanting to break contact from the other. They both want this moment to last, and to expand into something more.]
Todd: Do you want to eat this thing, or what?
Tea: I'll get some plates and utensils.
[Tea begins to pull away from him. He quickly grabs her arm to stop her, not wanting her to leave his presence right now. He wants to take hold of more than her arm. He wants her whole body in his grasp. He wants her underneath him, as naked as she was when he caught her coming out of the shower earlier.
Slowly, his mouth moves tantalizingly closer to hers. They both desperately want him to kiss her in this moment. Neither gets their wish.
Todd lets go of her arm and pulls away.]
Todd: Go ahead. Get whatever you want.
[Tea quickly leaves the room, leaving a frustrated Todd behind.
In the kitchen, an equally frustrated Tea leans against the sink, trying to compose herself. Her body is so electrified right now, just a touch, or even a look from him, could cause her to completely lose control.
When she returns to the living room, she finds Todd sitting on the sofa, dipping his finger into the frosting of the cake and sucking it off his finger tip.]
Todd: This isn't as gross as these things usually are.
Tea: Good.
[Tea clears her throat, knowing that her voice sounds strained.]
Todd: Where's the plates and stuff?
[Todd takes another finger full of frosting into his mouth and sucks it off. Tea quickly leans forward and closes the lid on the cake box.]
Todd: You don't want any?
Tea: Not right now.
Todd: I thought you were hungry.
Tea: I am. But, not for cake.
Todd: I sent the driver home. He was whining about needing sleep, or something. I can call for another limo. We can go wherever you want.
Tea: I don't want to go anywhere.
Todd: You want to cook?
Tea: No.
Todd: Delivery?
Tea: No.
Todd: What do you want?
Tea: This...
[Tea surprises Todd by grabbing the back of his head and pulling him into the most passionate kiss anyone has ever shared with him.]
