ANOTHER JOURNEY

CHAPTERS

151 - 155

PREVIOUSLY... Tea returns to the bedroom, leaving the balcony door open. She picks up one of the bags she had left on the bed earlier and takes out her purchase. She's about to go into the bathroom to change into her new dress when she looks up and catches sight of Todd's reflection in the mirror panels on the wall in front of her. She's surprised to find him standing in the same position, staring straight at her. She's not certain, but she has a sense that she's discovered what was odd about him a moment earlier.]

chapter 151:

[Tea slowly begins to take off the jacket of the pantsuit she's wearing. She wants to offer Todd a chance to look away in case she's reading the situation wrong. As she places her jacket on the bed in front of her, she glances at the mirrored panels again and realizes that Todd has moved closer and is now standing in the doorway, still staring at her.

She unbuttons her blouse and slowly removes it. Todd's eyes watch her, captivated as the material moves down her back, exposing more of her skin to his gaze.

As Tea's hands move behind herself to unclasp her bra, she is surprised as Todd steps toward her and places his body close to hers and replaces her hands with his own at the back of her bra.]

Tea: Todd?

Todd: Yeah?

Tea: I know that you wanted me to wear a bra under my T-shirt last night, and I could wear one tonight but I don't think I need to. I think...

[Tea is distracted for a moment as Todd lowers the straps of her bra and removes it from her body.]

Todd: What do you think, Tea?

[The soft, seductive tone of his voice sends thrills throughout her body.]

Todd: Well?

Tea: I...

Todd: You don't want to wear one tonight?

Tea: No. I mean, I could. I don't think I need to. The material of the dress should be enough to cover my...

Todd: Your what, Tea?

Tea: My...uh...

[Todd's breath on her neck keeps her mind from fully focusing on their discussion.]

Todd: Do you not want to wear one because you want to turn guys on?

Tea: There's only one guy I want to turn on and he's standing right behind me.

Todd: If I ask you to wear one, will you?

Tea: Yes.

Todd: Will you do anything I tell you to do, without question, even if it scares you?

[Tea turns toward Todd and smiles.]

Tea: No.

Todd: Good.

[Some of the overt sexiness is gone in Todd's voice and body language but Tea still feels excited to be so close to him while only partially dressed.]

Todd: Try it without your things in a thing and I'll inspect you.

Tea: Oh, you will, will you?

Todd: Yeah. Hurry up. I'm hungry.

[Tea reaches for another bag on the bed. She nervously pulls out the items that she had purchased in the lingerie shop downstairs.

She sets aside the brassiere that she hopes she won't be needing this evening. Her fingers play with the material of the skimpy panties that she had also purchased.

She's not certain how to handle this situation. Todd is giving no sign of leaving the room and she doesn't want him to think that she's uncomfortable exposing her body to him by going into the bathroom to change her underwear.]

Todd: Is there a problem?

Tea: Well...

Todd: It's okay. I'll take care of it.

Tea: You will?

Todd: I have strong teeth.

Tea (confused): What?

[Todd grabs the panties from her and brings them to his face. A moment later, the plastic strip that had attached the price tag to the panties is obliterated by his teeth. Todd hands the panties back to her and looks at the price tag in his hand.]

Todd: You paid that much? I could get ten pairs for that price.

Tea: Women's undergarments cost more.

Todd: They shouldn't. They hardly use any material.

[They continue to stand close to each other, awkwardly waiting for Tea to continue changing her clothes.]

Todd: Do you want me to go away?

Tea: If you're uncomfortable...

Todd: Tell me to get out, Tea. Tell me that you don't want me to see...whatever...

Tea: You've already seen all of my...whatever.

Todd: Why are you so freaked now?

Tea: I don't want to go further than you're ready for.

Todd: Since when has that stopped you from charging ahead anyway?

Tea: I mean it. I don't want you to leave.

[Tea's body shakes slightly as his hand touches her lower back, caressing her. He speaks to her quietly as his hand moves lower.]

Todd: I'm not leaving. I know where those things go. I know what has to happen before you can put them on.

[Todd's hand reaches inside the waistband of her underwear. He moves his hand lightly over her skin and places it at her side while his other hand enters her underwear on the other side of her body.

Tea closes her eyes, uncertain where this will lead, and having no intention of stopping it.

Todd places his body against her back and brings his mouth to her ear.]

Todd (whispering): Tea...

[Todd's hands move toward the front of her body. Tea leans back, resting her body against his as she feels her excitement increasing as she ponders the possibilities of where his hands may touch her next.]

Todd: Tea...

[Todd kisses her ear as his hands pull her lower body tightly against his. She's disappointed when his hands leave her underwear and move up to her stomach. She's not disappointed, however, when he turns her around and kisses her passionately.

They quickly find themselves falling onto the bed together, Todd's body pressing down onto Tea's. They each allow moans to escape as they again allow their passion for each other to take over.

After several minutes, Todd moves his kisses down to her neck.]

Tea: Todd?

[Todd stops his movement toward her breasts and looks up at her.]

Todd: Do you want me to stop?

Tea: No.

[Todd returns to kissing her upper chest.]

Tea: We have to promise each other that we'll never go this long again without doing this.

Todd: You missed it?

[Todd's mouth envelops one of her breasts. Tea gasps at the physical sensations overwhelming her body.]

Tea: Yes. We can't fight like we've been doing anymore, okay? We can never go this long again.

[Todd moves his mouth over to her other breast. Tea squirms slightly underneath him. She can feel herself moving extremely close to the point of losing all control.

Tea caresses the back of his head as his mouth clamps down on her nipple.]

Tea: Oh, Todd...

[Todd lets go of her nipple and kisses down her stomach. As he reaches the top of her pants, he stops and looks up at her.]

Tea (barely able to speak): If you say you want to go bowling right now...

Todd (smiling): What will you do? Huh, Delgado?

[Tea leans her head back and closes her eyes. This is too much for her. She wants this too much. She needs it too much. She knows that they can't have sex right now but her body is screaming in desperation for it.

She keeps her eyes closed as she feels Todd opening her pants. She doesn't know what he has planned. She doesn't know how far he's willing to go in this moment. She knows that having sex right now would probably lead to the end of their relationship but she also knows that she wants it more than she ever has and if Todd told her that he wanted to make love to her in this moment she would absolutely agree.

Todd places his hands at her sides and pulls on her underwear and pants. Tea finally opens her eyes and watches him remove the last of her clothing. As he toss her clothing onto the floor, he looks up at Tea's face.

For more than a minute they stare at each other.]

Todd: What do you want to do, Tea?

Tea: I want to make love to you.

Todd: You do?

[They both feel more emotions than either feels prepared for.]

Tea: It's not the right time.

[Todd begins to speak but stops himself. He doesn't know what to say. He's confused by the conflicting signals his body and mind are sending out.]

Todd: Tea...

Tea (interrupting): I want to. I swear, I do. I love you. I want...

[Tears form in her eyes as her emotions continue to overwhelm her.]

Tea: If it was just this moment, I would ask you to make love to me. I would ask you to touch me, and kiss me, and...

[Tea pauses. She feels like her heart is breaking because she can see their relationship ending. It may happen in this moment because they have sex, or because they don't have sex, or it may not happen until tomorrow, or the next day. She is certain, though, that their relationship is ending and it's more painful than anything she has ever felt before.]

Tea: But, it's not just this moment, is it? It's every moment before and it's every moment after. And...

Todd (finishing her sentence for her): ...it's not the right time.

Tea: I don't think it is. Do you?

[Todd looks down for a moment and then looks back up and into her eyes again.]

Todd: No.

chapter 152:

[Todd and Tea silently stare at each other for what feels like a long time.]

Todd: Tell me the truth. Is this over?

Tea: I don't want it to be.

Todd: But, is it?

Tea: I think it will be.

Todd: When?

Tea: Soon.

Todd: What about right now, Tea? Is it over right now?

Tea: Not for me.

Todd: Well, then it isn't over. Because, it's not over yet for me either.

Tea: But...

Todd: No buts...except yours.

Tea (confused): What?

Todd: Lift your butt this time so I don't have to do all the work.

[Tea continues to be confused until Todd picks up her new panties and kneels down where her legs are draped over the side of the bed. He lifts up each of her feet and places the panties onto her legs. He slowly lifts the material. As he raises the garment beyond her knees, Tea lifts her lower body off the mattress, allowing him to bring the panties further up her body.

After the panties are in place he stands in front of her and stares at them on her body.]

Tea: What do you think?

Todd: They're even smaller looking on your body.

Tea: Do you like them?

Todd: They're...you know...whatever.

Tea: Todd...

Todd: We should finish this and get going.

[Realizing that their passionate moment is definitely over, Tea sits up. Todd offers her his hand and she stands up in front of him. He grabs her new dress, quickly rips the price tag off with his teeth and hands it to her.]

Tea: Aren't you going to help me with this, too?

Todd: I might put it on you backwards, or sideways, or something.

[Tea hands it to him so that it's the right way and he helps her into it. After it's properly in place, Tea steps back from him and turns around so he can fully see her in it.]

Tea: What do you think?

Todd: Does it have to be that short?

Tea: It's not too short.

Todd: It shows your knees.

Tea: Just barely.

Todd: Couldn't you pull it down a little.

Tea: Fine, but that will cause more of my chest to be exposed.

Todd: Oh, yeah, I was supposed to inspect that.

Tea: You forgot?

Todd: Please! I'm a guy. Guys never forget a chick's chest.

Tea: Believe me, I've seen many men having conversations with women's breasts rather than with the women.

Todd: With some chicks the only conversation worth having is with their breasts, or their...

[Tea laughs. Todd smiles with relief. He stops talking before this conversation leads to Tea becoming angry at him on behalf of all men.]

Todd: So, are we ready to go?

Tea: I still have to put on my shoes.

Todd: You bought shoes, too?

Tea: I had to. I didn't have any that matched this dress.

Todd: Where's the jewelry?

Tea: What jewelry?

Todd: The jewelry you had to buy to match the purse I bet you also bought, that matched the shoes, that matched the dress.

Tea: I didn't buy any jewelry. I controlled myself.

Todd: Yeah, you only spent hundreds of dollars.

Tea: Actually, I charged it to the room.

Todd: So, I guess that means I spent hundreds of dollars.

Tea: Do you think you got your money's worth?

[Todd closely scrutinizes her.]

Todd: Turn around again.

Tea (laughing): Todd...

Todd: Come on. Do it.

[Tea turns for him again. As she stands facing him again, he brings his body to hers. Tea is surprised when his hands reach for her breasts, seeking out her nipples.

After spending several moments manipulating her nipples, he steps back from her body.]

Todd: I'm satisfied.

Tea: Well, I'm not. Get back over here and continue.

Todd: I was just checking to make sure you didn't have to put one of those things on. That was research, Delgado, not hanky panky.

Tea: I was enjoying thinking it was hanky panky.

Todd: We don't have time for that. We have to go to dinner.

Tea: Do I get to dress you now?

[Todd laughs and begins to walk away.]

Tea: Wait a minute, Manning.

Todd: You've already been in my pants once today, Tea. Or, did you forget?

Tea: I haven't forgotten.

Todd: But, you want another chance?

Tea: Do you want me to...

Todd: Of course.

Tea: You do?

Todd: Of course, I want you to hurry up and do whatever other chick things you need to do. I already told you I was hungry.

Tea: I'll be ready in a few minutes.

Todd: Great.

[Todd leaves the bedroom. They both are feeling very sexually frustrated, but each is determined that they will have a nice evening. If sex has to screw everything up for them, it will have to wait until after they have this evening together.

A few minutes later Tea enters the outer room of their suite.]

Tea: I'm ready.

[Todd looks at her. His determination to spend an evening out with her is in serious jeopardy, if certain parts of his body have their way.

Todd steps towards her.]

Todd: We're going out tonight.

Tea: I know.

Todd: We're not staying here all night.

Tea: I understand.

Todd: We're leaving...

[Todd places his arms around her body and brings himself tightly against her.]

Todd: ...in a few minutes.

[Todd instantly kisses her. Tea's hands move into his hair as she whimpers as she feels herself quickly losing the control she had spent the last few minutes trying to build up within herself.

After several minutes of pleasure, administered by his tongue, Todd suddenly pulls away from her body.]

Todd: Okay. Let's go.

Tea: Into the bedroom, I hope.

Todd: Is that what you want?

Tea: Yes.

[Todd steps close to her again and whispers.]

Todd: I want that, too.

[Tea is again surprised by Todd when he brings his lips lightly against hers in a gentle kiss.

This time when he pulls away he keeps his body next to hers. Tea looks in his eyes and smiles.]

Tea: Let's go.

[Todd looks toward the bedroom and then toward the main door of the suite, before looking back at her.]

Tea: We'll go have a quiet dinner at a restaurant that isn't too crowded. And, then...

Todd: And, then...what?

Tea: Then, if you really want to go somewhere crowded, noisy and dark...

Todd: I like the dark part.

Tea: We could go to a bar. Or, we could come back here and...

Todd: You wanted to dance, right? We could find a place to do that.

Tea: Is that why you want to go to a bar? We could dance right here...alone.

Todd: It would be less dangerous with other people around.

Tea: I see. Well, let's just start with dinner and see how we both feel after that, okay?

Todd: I'm gonna feel like going to a bar.

Tea: We'll make that decision later.

Todd: I already made it.

Tea: Come on. We'll argue on the way.

[Tea takes Todd's hand in her own as they exit their suite.]

chapter 153:

[Moments later, the former spouses stand close to each other on the elevator as they begin the short ride down to the resort's lobby. Tea decides to surprise Todd, moving her arm from where it's been resting around his back and places her hand on his butt.]

Todd: Delgado?

Tea: Yes?

Todd: What are you doing?

Tea: Checking to make sure you have your wallet.

Todd: Do I?

Tea: I don't feel it in your back pockets. Maybe I should check your front pockets.

Todd: Maybe you should.

Tea: Turn around.

Todd: Why?

Tea: So no one will see us if the doors open.

Todd: You don't want people to think you're only with me for my large...wallet?

[Todd instantly regrets his choice of words to tease her with.]

Todd: Look, Delgado...

Tea: It's okay, Todd. Let's forget everything but what makes us feel good tonight.

Todd: You feel good. You feel really good.

[They share a smile for a brief moment before their mouths connect again. Even as they hear the elevator doors opening, they can't bring themselves to break their kiss yet. When they finally do, they find an older couple on the elevator with them, as they continue their journey towards the lobby.]

Woman: Are you newlyweds?

[Before Tea has a chance to answer that they're not, Todd volunteers an answer first.]

Todd: Yeah, we are.

Woman: I could tell. It may have been years ago but I still recall how my Fred here couldn't keep his hands off me back then. (to Tea) Enjoy it while you can, dear.

Tea (looking lovingly at Todd): I will.

Fred: You enjoy it, too, young man. But, just keep in mind that as much fun as the passion is in the beginning, it isn't the most important part of a marriage. If you're as lucky as I've been with Estelle, you'll never have a day when you don't look across the table and know that you made the right choice years ago, not just because your bride is still the most beautiful woman in the world to you but also because she's your best friend.

[Tea smiles at the loving look shared by the elderly couple who clearly still adore each other after what must be decades of marriage. Todd's just glad that they've finally reached the lobby so he doesn't have to hear anymore of this.

Tea holds the door open and waits for the elderly couple to exit before allowing an anxious Todd to move passed her and out of the elevator.

Todd walks away, towards the main entrance of the resort. When he reaches the middle of the lobby, he stops and turns back towards Tea, clearly upset.]

Todd: They screwed everything up.

Tea: Don't worry, Todd. I know we're not getting married.

Todd: Of course, we're not. You haven't proposed to me yet.

Tea: Actually, I think I have.

Todd: Not seriously, you haven't.

Tea: I could.

Todd: Let's just forget about this whole thing. It was all a stupid idea.

Tea: What was? What do you think that sweet couple ruined?

Todd: Sweet? Nosy is more like it.

Tea: You're the one who volunteered that we were newlyweds.

Todd: I didn't know they'd turn it into a marriage counseling session, ruining my plans.

Tea: How did that ruin your plans? What does what they said have to do with going to dinner and then going skating?

Todd: Nice try. We're going to a bar, Tea...one with booze, not some skating rink with a pretzel bar.

Tea: I like pretzels.

Todd: Let's just forget this and go.

Tea: Forget what? I still don't understand, Todd.

Todd: I was going to do something but now if I do it, you'll think it's because I got all sappy listening to those old people drone on about whatever the hell they were talking about.

Tea: You know exactly what they were talking about.

Todd: Whatever!

Tea: I promise, I won't think that anything that happened in that elevator had any effect on you, okay? Let's do whatever you were planning.

Todd: It was a stupid idea.

Tea: One that I'd like to experience with you.

Todd: You don't even know what it is.

Tea: Well, fill me in.

Todd: Okay, but if you start getting sappy, or teary, or any of that, this evening is over.

[Todd takes her hand in his and briskly walks towards the expensive shops near the resort's lobby.

Moments later, they enter a small jewelry store.]

Tea: Should I hurry up and propose?

Todd: Forget it. This is over.

Tea: I was kidding. Why are we here?

Todd: I thought you'd want something, you know, to go around your neck.

Tea: You don't have to buy me anything, Todd.

Todd: I already bought you everything else you're wearing right now.

Tea: I don't want anything. Let's go.

[Tea begins to leave. Todd follows her back into the corridor but uses his grip on her hand to keep her from walking away from the area. They lower their voices as they converse with each other.]

Todd: What's wrong with you, Delgado? I'm trying to spend a ton of money on you. You're supposed to think I'm a great guy right now.

Tea: I don't want your money, Todd, not in cash and not in jewelry. I don't even want to be here.

Todd: You said you were okay with this place.

Tea: I am...as long as I don't think about how much it costs.

Todd: Why are we back to that? I've got so much money, Tea, that none of this is going to matter at all. It's not like I'm going to be cruising cardboard boxes next week looking for a place to call home if I blow a few thousand on a necklace for you tonight.

Tea: I don't want you to spend that much money on me.

Todd: I'm really sick of this. I'm going to spend as much as I want on you so deal with it.

Tea: No.

Todd: Why not?

Tea: I don't want you to continue to buy me, Todd.

Todd: I'm not.

Tea: Yes, you are.

Todd: I just want you to have nice stuff and stay in nice places. You deserve that, Delgado.

Tea: It isn't what I need.

Todd: Then tell me what you do need and I'll buy you that.

Tea: You can't buy what I need.

Todd: Sure, I can. Your body search stopped when those old people showed up but I do have my wallet. I can buy whatever you want.

Tea: I want you. I want a lifetime with you.

Todd: I knew it. They got to you. I hate old people.

Tea: I've always wanted that, Todd.

Todd: Not always.

Tea: For a very long time I have wanted that. You can't buy that, Todd. You can't wrap that up. You can't promise me that. You can't give me that, can you?

Todd: We shouldn't be talking about all this serious stuff out here in front of tons of people.

[Tea looks around at the empty corridor they're in. Todd steps a little closer to Tea and looks at her with such tenderness it melts her heart.]

Todd: Just let me buy you something to remember this night, okay? It doesn't have to be the most expensive thing in there. Usually, the most expensive stuff in these places is the ugliest stuff, anyway.

Tea: You want me to have a souvenir of tonight?

Todd: Yeah.

Tea: Are you expecting this to be a special night?

Todd: It already is.

Tea: Why?

Todd: Because...

[Todd looks away, internally cringing at the horrible words about to escape his mouth.]

Todd: I'm spending it with the most beautiful woman I've ever seen and she's also my best friend.

[Tea's face lights up as she smiles at the man that she adores. She kisses him on the cheek and hugs him, making the moment even worse for him as it's prolonged even further.]

Tea: Okay, one thing, but nothing too expensive. And, I get to buy you something.

Todd: No way.

Tea: I'll buy you a watch.

Todd: I have a watch.

Tea: Well, I want you to have a souvenir of tonight, too.

Todd: Fine. We'll have dinner at one of those fast food places where they give you souvenir cups with pictures of athletes on them.

Tea: I don't think so. Come on.

[Tea pulls him by the hand, into the jewelry store.]

chapter 154:

[Later that evening...

Todd and Tea are sitting at a small table in a, to Todd's discomfort, romantic restaurant. They've ordered dinner but it hasn't arrived yet. Todd watches as Tea continues to use her fingers to play with the new necklace around her neck.]

Todd: If you don't like it, just take it off.

Tea: I'm sorry, what?

Todd: You've been doing that thing with that necklace like it's making you itch, or something.

Tea: It's fine.

Todd: You don't have to pretend. I know you hate it.

Tea: I do not. It's beautiful.

Todd: It didn't cost enough. That sales guy thought I was cheap.

Tea: Why do you care what he thought?

Todd: I don't, but I could tell from the way he was looking at me, he didn't think I was shelling out enough dough.

Tea: Of course he didn't. He wanted his commission to be higher.

Todd: He was a jerk. He didn't deserve a high commission.

Tea: Well, then it's a good thing we got this necklace instead of some of the others, isn't it?

Todd: Whatever. Just stop playing with that thing. You don't see me playing with the thing you bought me.

Tea: That's because you wouldn't let me buy you anything.

Todd: I didn't need anything. And, I'm not piercing any body parts just so you can buy me something to shove into the hole.

Tea: Before this night is over, Todd, I'll find something to give you as a souvenir of this special night.

Todd: Silence is always a thoughtful gift.

Tea: Nice try. It won't work. We're having a nice evening tonight and that will include pleasant conversation.

Todd: Oh, hell!

Tea: It's not that bad talking to me, is it?

Todd: Not that.

[Tea follows Todd's gaze and notices a strolling violinist beginning to play on the other side of the dining room.]

Todd: Shouldn't they have to put a warning up before you come in, notifying you that you're entering hell?

Tea: It won't be that bad.

Todd: Yeah, maybe he'll break a finger before he gets to this side of the room.

Tea: We can leave and find somewhere else to eat. Perhaps, our hotel suite.

Todd: You like it here, don't you?

Tea: It is kind of romantic.

Todd: It is?

Tea: Candlelight...music...the man I love sitting across from me...

[Tea takes a chance and, after removing one of her shoes, begins to lightly caress Todd's leg with her foot. Todd quickly jumps up and walks away from the table. Tea is especially surprised as she watches Todd approach the violinist and hand him money.

Moments later, Todd returns to the table and sits down without saying anything.]

Tea: Todd?

Todd: Yeah?

Tea: What was that?

Todd: What was what?

Tea: Did you pay him to come over and increase the romantic mood?

Todd: I did pay him to better the mood, you're right about that.

Tea: So, he's coming over?

Todd: No.

Tea: I don't understand.

Todd: I paid him not to come over.

Tea: Why?

Todd: Because I hate all this stuff. If one more phony romantic thing gets dumped on me, I'm out the door.

Tea: Let's go.

[Tea begins to stand up. Todd also stands up, confused about what he did to upset her this time. He thought that he was doing a good thing by ensuring that he'd be able to stay where she wanted to have dinner and now she's threatening to leave. He hates this. He hates trying to figure women out.]

Todd: Delgado, I said that I took care of it. We can stay. Sit down.

Tea: We're not going to spend the evening where you're miserable.

Todd: Why not? I'm always miserable. So, I'm miserable with less light and lousy music. I can handle it. Now, sit down. People are staring.

Tea: I don't care. This won't be the evening I wanted it to be if you're uncomfortable and cringing the whole time. Let's find somewhere that we're both comfortable.

Todd: We already ordered the grub, remember? They're going to make me pay for it whether we eat it or not.

Tea: So? It's just money, right?

Todd: You're the most frustrating person, Delgado. You're always going one way or the other and it's always the opposite of which way I think you're going so I'm always ending up in the wrong place, looking at your back as you race off in the other direction. Not tonight. Tonight, we're doing this stupid romantic garbage and then we're going to a bar so I can get drunk and dance with you. Now, sit down, shut up and enjoy the damn romance.

[Todd sits down and starts munching on a breadstick out of frustration. Tea hesitates for a moment before also sitting down. Moments pass uncomfortably. Luckily the waiter arrives with their dinner to help ease the tension.

They both escape the awkwardness of the moment by concentrating on their meal. Todd is shoving food into his mouth at a rapid rate. Tea is mostly picking at her food and eating very little of it.]

Todd: You don't have to do that.

[Tea looks up at him, surprised to hear him speak after several minutes of silence.]

Tea: What?

Todd: You don't have to pick at the food like chicks do when they're on a date and want the guy to think they eat like a chick. I've seen you eat. I know you eat like a pig, so go ahead and scarf it down.

Tea (smiling): I do not eat like a pig.

Todd: If the oink fits.

Tea: Actually, I think your food looks more appetizing than mine.

Todd: You want me to get that waiter idiot over here to get you something else?

Tea: No. I was hoping you'd feed me some of yours.

Todd (laughing): Right, Delgado.

Tea: I'm serious, Todd. I'd like to try some of what you have to offer.

[Todd stops in mid-chew as Tea's foot returns to his leg and moves further up it than before. They stare at each other for a moment, each noticing that the other person's eyes are starting to glaze over slightly.]

Todd: You want to sample mine?

Tea: Yes?

Todd: You're sure?

Tea: I'm positive.

[Todd leans forward and picks up Tea's plate, replacing it with his own, while placing her plate in front of himself. As he settles himself back in his chair, his body slides closer to the edge of the chair.]

Todd: Go for it, Delgado.

Tea: You're sure?

Todd: I dare you.

[Tea laughs nervously. She thinks they're both on the same wavelength but she's uncertain.]

Todd: You shouldn't be too anxious to finish, though. Some things are better when you experience them slowly.

[Tea studies his eyes in the dim light. She feels more certain that he is in fact speaking of more than food but she's still not completely certain. She picks up her fork and takes a bite of his food, while allowing her foot to move a little further up his leg. She wants to give him the opportunity to remove her foot if she's reading the situation wrong.

Todd, meanwhile, begins to devour Tea's food the same way he was his own minutes earlier.

As they continue to eat and Tea continues to lightly caress his leg with her foot, she is startled when she feels his hand grab her foot. She looks up and notices that he's staring at the food on the plate in front of him while he continues to shove it into his mouth with one hand. His other hand, though, is still under the table holding her foot. After a moment, her foot feels the unmistakable outline of his penis, through the material of his pants. She's shocked. She was so certain that he had been upset when he woke up this morning and found her touching his penis while she slept. Now, they're in a public restaurant and he has just placed her foot in position so she can massage his penis through his pants. As always she marvels at the mystery of Todd's actions, knowing that she'll never fully understand him, and enjoying that knowledge.

Todd, meanwhile, is enjoying the magic her foot is doing to him while he also enjoys knowing that he shocked Tea again.]

chapter 155:

[As Tea's foot continues to slowly caress his penis through his pants, they both continue eating the food in front of them, Todd more voraciously than Tea.

Tea's foot starts to get uncomfortable because of the position it's been in and she tries moving it into a more comfortable position. This places more pressure on his penis which takes him by surprise and causes him to react.]

Todd: Ohhh...yes!

[He tries to casually look around to make sure that no one realizes what is happening under their table, luckily hidden from their view by a tablecloth that he is extremely grateful for in this moment.]

Todd: These are incredible carrots. The best carrots I've ever had. You were right, we should never go so long again.

Tea: Without having carrots?

Todd: Yes.

[Tea laughs as she considers asking him to share with her. She chooses not to, though, since she's shocked enough to be in a public restaurant, massaging his penis with her foot. She can't imagine him returning that particular favor.

Moments pass. Todd continues to use the food he's eating as a shield to cover for why he's making occasional grunting noises. He finally runs out of food and grabs the plate that's in front of Tea.]

Todd: You're done, right?

Tea: Not quite.

Todd: But, you're close, right? You're extremely close.

[Tea's foot is really starting to bother her. She wants to give her foot a rest but she doesn't want to pull away from Todd as long as he's allowing such intimate contact.

Todd continues to devour food as his way of masking his excitement in this moment.]

Todd: Oh! Wow! Yes! Broccoli!

Tea: You're enjoying dinner?

Todd: Great dinner. Really great...ohhhh...dinner.

[Todd's head rolls back for a moment as both of his hands grab her foot and pull it away from his body. He looks down toward his plate and closes his eyes.]

Tea: Have you had enough?

Todd: Any more and I'll burst.

Tea: We wouldn't want that, now would we?

Todd: Shut up. Just shut up.

[Tea smiles as she knows that Todd is trying to keep himself from having an orgasm right now.

Their waiter picks this moment to approach their table.]

Waiter: Have you decided on dessert?

Tea: Not yet. Could you give us a little more time?

Waiter (to Todd): Is something wrong, sir? Are you sick?

Tea: He's meditating. He does that after meals. It helps him digest.

[The waiter steps away. Tea stays silent. She's tempted to return her foot to Todd's body and finish him off but she doesn't want to risk upsetting him.

She assumes that since it was Todd who placed her foot on his penis to begin with, he won't be upset with her, as long as she doesn't cause the orgasm he is currently trying to hold off.

Minutes later, the waiter returns.]

Waiter: Still meditating?

Tea: He ate a lot. This could take a while. Why don't you tell me what you have for dessert and I'll order for both of us.

[The waiter and Tea discuss the dessert options. Unseen by them, Todd raises his eyes to the scene in front of him. He sees the way the waiter is looking at Tea...or more accurately, her scantily covered chest. He also sees Tea smiling while she talks. He knows what she's doing. She took him out of commission on purpose just so she could flirt with this loser. Todd's body finally comes under his control as his anger takes over all other feelings, both emotional and physical.

When the waiter steps away and Tea looks at Todd again, she's surprised to find him glaring at her. He has a glint in his eyes that makes her extremely uncomfortable.]

Tea: I ordered dessert.

Todd: We're leaving.

Tea: We can wait for dessert.

Todd: We're leaving right now.

Tea: Todd...

Todd (angrily): I said now.

[Tea is surprised. Clearly, Todd blames her for what just happened. She didn't think he would since he had clearly wanted her to massage his penis at the time. Now, obviously, he's decided to be upset about it and blame her.

Deciding not to argue with him now, she stands up and leaves the restaurant with him.

As they enter the car, Tea turns to him, wanting an explanation.]

Tea: What was that about?

Todd: What?

Tea: Your sudden anger at me. It wasn't my fault.

Todd: Whose fault was it? The waiter's?

Tea: The waiter? What does he have to do with what we were doing? Or, more specifically, what I was doing? You placed my foot there, remember? I didn't do that. You did.

[Todd realizes that she thinks that he's upset about her touching his penis again. He decides to allow her to continue thinking that.]

Todd: You're the one who started it, not me.

Tea: But, I wouldn't have touched you there if you hadn't have grabbed my foot and placed it there.

Todd: If it's so repulsive to you...

Tea: I never said that it was repulsive. It isn't. I'm just saying that I wouldn't have crossed that line without your permission.

Todd: You had no problem crossing that line without my permission this morning.

Tea: Let's go back to the resort. This evening was a mistake.

Todd: We're going to a bar.

Tea: No, we're not.

Todd: Well, it's my car and I'm driving it to a bar. If you want to go somewhere else, get out and start walking.

Tea: Sometimes you are such a jerk, Todd Manning.

Todd: Thank you.

[Tea turns away from him in anger and stares out the car window.

Minutes later they enter a dark, noisy club. They haven't spoken in several minutes and neither shows any sign of being the first to give in and speak to the other.

Todd immediately walks up to the bar and orders a beer. He completely ignores what Tea might want to order. Tea decides to sit at a different part of the bar and buys her own drink.

Todd downs his first beer quickly and orders another while glaring at the back of Tea's head, as she purposely tries to ignore him, even as she knows that he's staring at her.

A man approaches Tea, causing Todd to slam the bottle in his hand onto the bar as he orders another one before he's even finished his current one.]

Man: Can I buy you a drink?

Tea: No, thank you.

Man: You sure?

Tea: I'm positive. I'm waiting for someone.

Man: Okay.

[The stranger walks away looking for someone else to spend his evening with. Todd is continuing to stare at Tea as a young woman seats herself on the stool next to him.]

Woman: Buy me a drink?

Todd: Huh? What?

Woman: Would you like to buy me a drink?

[Todd looks over the woman's head and notices another man talking to Tea. He decides to play the same game his ex-wife is playing with him and gives his attention to the woman in front of him. She's young, blond, has big breasts that are amply displayed by the low-cut top she's wearing, and is wearing far too much makeup. He smirks. She's perfect.]

Todd: You're not very modern, are you?

Woman: Fine. I'll buy you a drink. You look like you're worth the investment.

Todd: We could sit at one of those tables over there and talk about my worth.

Woman: Sounds great.

[They take their drinks and Todd places his arm around her as he leads her toward a table on the other side of where Tea is sitting. She's already dispatched the latest man who tried to hit on her and is still facing away from where Todd was standing at the bar, while she sips the club soda in front of her.

As Todd passes by Tea with his new companion, he purposely bumps into her back to make sure that she notices him and, more importantly, his companion. As they approach the table, Todd pulls out a chair for the young lady and then takes another chair and positions it intimately close to hers and sits down, draping his arm across the back of her chair and onto her shoulders.

He doesn't bother looking in Tea's direction. He knows that he doesn't have to. He's certain that she's watching him. He's glad. Let her deal with some jealousy for a change.

The woman he's with is talking to him about something. He's not paying much attention. He doesn't care. She's just there to make Delgado jealous, not because she has anything to say that interests him.]

Woman: Are you married?

Todd: What? Uh, no. Not married. (raising his voice so Tea will hear) I'm not looking for anything long-term. I just want to have a good time tonight. Are you okay with that?

Woman: Sounds great to me.

Todd: I knew you were my type of woman the second I saw you. I don't need anyone clinging to me, making demands on me, expecting me to give up who I am for them. This is who I am.

[Todd turns the woman's face towards him and kisses her on the lips. It's not a deep kiss but it has the effect it was intended to have. Todd keeps his eyes open, taking much more pleasure from the anger on Tea's face than he is from the actual kiss.

As he ends the kiss with this anonymous stranger he smiles widely, enjoying himself, not because of the person in front of him, but because of the effect he knows he's having on Tea.

What Todd doesn't expect is for this woman, who is already quite drunk, to be so open and demonstrative in displaying her interest in him. She surprises him as her hand reaches into his lap and grabs his penis through his pants, sizing it up to make sure it's acceptable for her needs tonight.

Normally, Todd would not be okay with some stranger he just met, grabbing him like this but since he knows that Tea is watching, he allows it.

As he speaks, he continues to speak louder than necessary for Tea's benefit.]

Todd: You like what you feel?

Woman: Yeah, baby. That feels really good. Where have you been hiding? I've been needing a man like you who had the equipment to fulfill...or should I say, fill me full.

Todd: My last old lady was never very good at knowing what to do with the big guy down there. I had to pretend that doing that snuggling garbage was enough because she just didn't do it for me sexually. I'm not going to have that problem with you, am I?

Woman: Don't worry, baby. I'm only in this for the ride. I don't care about anything else.

Todd: Well, you really are perfect for me.

[Todd glances back towards Tea and is surprised to find her gone. He quickly stands up and looks around for her. The woman next to him also stands up and presses her body against his.]

Woman: Are you ready to go, baby? Because, I know I am.

Todd (looking at her with disgust): Get the hell off me, you tramp.

Woman: Look, I'm not into being insulted. If you're looking for that, find someone else. If you just want to have the most incredible sex of your life then let's get to it before my beer buzz wears off.

Todd: I'm not interested, okay? So, just get your hands off of me before I remove them for you.

Woman: Great! Another loser I wasted ten minutes of my life on.

[The woman walks away looking for someone else to pleasure her this evening.

Todd continues looking around inside the bar for a minute and then quickly goes outside, in search of Tea.]

to be continued...
