Love, Loss, Remembrance

Blanketed in nightmares. Filled with sorrow. Pain so deep it touched their
cores. And longing. There was always that. And love. There would *always* be
that.

He lay on his right side. She on her left. White mushrooms of pillows under
their heads, wet with tears.

They stared at the walls remembering the good times. The bad. Moaning from
the pain of them, like a hand twisting their guts.

She put her hand to her stomach feeling the butterflies dance. He put his
hand to his head, pounding with one intrusive thought.

*She's gone and its my fault.*
*I'm gone, but its not your fault. I'm sorry.*

Her thoughts. His. Separated. Unshared. Their beds cold. Their rooms cold.
His still lingering of her scent. Hers bland in its unfamiliarity.

Her belly jumps with his seed. His heart is empty with her loss.

*She's gone and its my fault and she's better off without me.*
*Oh mi amor, Im so scared. I don't want you to find me but...I do.*

*I have to let her go.*
*I'm sorry I let you go.*

*Why did she leave me?*
*Oh why did I leave you?*

But it's too late. Too late. Too late?
