Soulmates is a new fan fiction that was inspired by fans desires, chats and advice of what really happened to Tea, Todd and attempt to tell the true story (my truth of course) of what happened that fateful night, when Tea left....or did she? I hope you enjoy and please be kind to my first attempt at TNT Fan Fiction. TNT inspired me as well, so it should be good! LOL.....I also have to post it now, as her return, would nullify my words. Look at the bright side...I'll have to write and post fast, as her return is looking closer and closer *G* This story begins March 2, 2000
Damn! Damn, Damn, Damn! The voice just kept repeating over and over again in Todd's head. Things were going so well for the past several hours. Now a stupid thing like needing gasoline was going to ruin his solitude. He hated to stop the car. Between the constant, even motion of the highway and the overwhelming emotion of the day, Tea had sat back in the comfort and cradling of the leather-coated bucket seat of Todd's new Jaguar and closed her eyes. More importantly for Todd, the side benefit that her mouth was also closed had allowed him to put a great deal of distance between them and that God forsaken town. Between them and the hypocrites that she so wanted to fit in with. He chuckled as he thought back to earlier in the day, back at Viki's cabin.
Filled with a great deal of emotion after he had reached his hand out to Tea, Todd stood there, uncertain what to do next. When she had reached her hand out and taken his, he was speechless. He was also feeling things he had never felt before. He, again, found himself in uncharted territory. He felt the anxiety envelope him as equally intense as it had the night he had proposed to her at the Palace Bar and again found himself posed with the exact same dilemma. He so badly wanted her to say yes. And now that she had, what came next? What exactly was he supposed to do? He became overwhelmed with Sam's words from before. "Go to her, tell her you love her and just love her." This, once again, was not what he had planned. He's not mooey, gooey or mushy. He didn't do warm and fuzzy. But he knew, this time, he had not manipulated. Well, at least he didn't think he had. All day long, he had tried. But she didn't seem to be buying it this time. But now, his feelings were bare. Open. For her to see and for her to feel for herself. For the first time, in a very long time, he had told someone exactly what he wanted. Exactly how he felt at the exact moment that he felt it. And she hadn't let him down. She had in turn, reached out her hand to him. She, too, stood there, unable to move, unknowing of what to do or say in this moment. Todd had reached out. She had responded. The ball was definitely in HIS court now. Then it happened. Those really pesky feelings entered and took over. Damn, his chest hurt. He could see, in his mind's eye, his body doing something his mind found unexpected. Unacceptable. But he was having a momentary lapse of composure. He couldn't stop it from happening. His heart won out over his head and his pain and fear. Love won out, this time as he pulled her inward, close to his chest, close to his heart, into the depths of his soul. In his weakness, as he considered it, he had given her a moment of tenderness. It wasn't for him. Surely, it wasn't for him, he justified. He hadn't needed something like this. No way this was for him! "It's to get her to do what I want and that's it," he again justified, rationalized. It wasn't killing him to let her use his body. That he had done before. In that moment, she seemed to need the physical. He hadn't minded so much holding her. That really wasn't so bad. If he just hadn't looked into her eyes when he stepped back. Those eyes! Those overwhelming eyes. Those eyes that spoke volumes so loudly and longingly into his own. Her eyes never lied! She could see into his soul and that scared him. But at the same time, he found comfort in them as well as he had so many times before. So he had lost his head momentarily when he reached in and pressed his lips on hers. It didn't mean anything. That he had twisted his head to the right, continuing the kiss past its initial contact meant nothing as well. Pulling her body in to his, only meant that he had instincts. He surely wasn't loosing control in that moment. That he had placed his hands lower in that moment of unbridled passion only meant that he was a man, excited by a desirable, sexy woman. And it most certainly didn't make him human. Surprisingly enough, it was Tea who was too afraid of losing control and had brought their physical contact to an abrupt halt. The moments that followed their initial release, while awkward, only lasted a second, until Tea broke the silence.
Tea: Now, I'm ready. I will come with you, Todd.
Todd: (grabbing her hand) Great! Let's go.
Tea: Wait! I'm not ready!
Todd: Damn it, Delgado!
Todd stopped dead in his tracks. He turned and faced her, then angrily approached her and put his face right into her personal space. Nose to nose, they stood there, Todd's breath upon her face.
Todd: Which is it, Tea? (looking directly into her eyes) You coming or not? You ready or not?
Tea: Yes, I'm coming, but no, I'm not ready.
Todd: This part of you is not a part that I missed.
Tea: Which part?
Todd: The part that confuses the hell out of me.
Tea: Todd, I just want to get a few things out of my car. I'd also like to go by the penthouse and get a few of my things.
Todd: (grinning at her for the first time that day) Yes and No.
Tea: What? Todd, what does that mean?
Todd: Yes, to the car. No, to the penthouse.
Tea: Feeling pretty good with yourself, aren't you Manning?
Todd: Actually, I am. I've missed playing with you, Delgado. And as usual, I won!
Tea: You never win.
Todd: I always win. We're doing what I want, aren't we? You're coming with me(slowing down and nervously adding) right?
Tea: (speaking in a reassuring, confident voice) Right.
Todd: Right! Besides, it's not everyday that I get to turn the tables and out-Tea you.
Tea: How do you know that's what you did? Maybe I was trying to trick you into going back to the penthouse in hopes that you'd get caught.
Todd: You'd never do that.
Tea: How do you know that?
Todd: I know you Delgado.
Tea: Might the translation of that be, you trust me?
Todd: Obviously, I trust you, but not for the reasons you think.
Tea: And what might the reasons be?
Todd: I have no choice. If you will be my Judas, then so be it. If I'm to be crucified, dead and buried, then it shall be at your hand. Betraying me, turning me in, leaving me. It won't happen. You'll never leave me. You'll never betray me. But if it did, I'd rather be dead.
Tea: (suddenly serious) Todd, don't.
Todd: Okay, then I won't. And you won't either. (He shook his head and placed both of his hands over his face as to shake off the previous exchange.) Delgado, go to your car and get whatever the hell it is you think you need from your car. Whatever else you need, I'll buy you. I have some thing to take care of and I'll meet you at my car. It's unlocked.
Tea: Todd? (stretching out his name) What do you need to take care of?
Todd: No bombs, I promise.
Tea: Todd?
Todd: We really need to go Delgado.
Tea: Now I'm trusting you, Todd.
Todd: Yeah, so?
Tea: Never mind!
Todd: Good(shouting) NOW GO!
Tea: I'm going, I'm going. (She leaves the cabin and goes to her car.)
Todd: (Staring at Tea as she walks through the threshold of the cabin) "I know," he whispers. (He smirks like a Cheshire cat pleased that once again he got what he wanted. He then went to Viki's desk and took out a piece of paper and penned a note to none other than Bo Buchanan...he even chuckled as he wrote in big bold letters "Gotcha!" "That'll teach him," he thought to himself.
Todd folded the note and put it in an envelope with Bo's name on it on Viki's desk.
Todd: I win again. I always win. And this time, I'm not alone.
