NOTE: Photo of me, my sister, and Blake was takeen on July 6, 2002.

July 6, 2002-Waco, Texas

How I got to meet Blake was weird, but worth it! He was doing a free outdoor concert and I was going! My cousin, sister, and I stood by the stage about 30 minutes before the show started. Then when it started, we sat in the front row. During the whole concert, I screamed, sang along, and acted crazy. I swear Blake kept looking over at us! And I swear he even pointed at me!

After the "last" song (No one knew he would do another song with the other performers), I kept trying to find ways to get backstage. My cousin ran through a restricted area. Well, I was up front so I had no idea what she had done. After the very last song, I couldn't find her. I went to our spot and she ran up to me, pointing to her camera. Then she told me that before the last song, she ran into the restricted area and demanded he take a picture. I'm a big fan and it hurt to hear it. As if on cue, I started crying hard. I really wanted to meet Mr. Shelton. So my Dad takes me to go meet him. 20-25 minutes later, guess who walks out of the tour bus? BLAKE SHELTON!! My mouth opens and he asks how I'm doin'. I just put my shaking hand over my open mouth! I was speechless! I give him the CD booklet and he signs it. I get a hug. My Dad asks if me, my sister, and Blake can take a picture together. Being the sweetheart that he is, he says "Sure! Bring it on!". The picture gets taken. I was in heaven! But the things I could've said!

Blake, if you're reading this, I love you and I love your music. You're talented, sweet, and so down-to-earth.I enjoyed meeting you so very much! You're an inspiration to my music career. Keep your head high!

Love Always,

I ended up meeting Blake again at the H.O.T. Fair & Rodeo on October 10, 2002. The weird thing is that I am the only one who recognized him! I saw him walking towards us and and I was like "OMG! He's walking towards us!". Amanda was like "Who?". She had no idea who in the world I was talking about! I said "Blake Shelton!". She said "OH!". I wanted to ask for an interview, but was nervous so my dad walked us up to him and introduced us. I wasn't as nervous but was nervous. He has a nice handshake. My dad asked if I could have a interview and Blake has said to ask his "personal promoter" (his fiance that was next to him. she wasn't his fiance at the time, but she is now! CONGRATS!!!) but they had to hurry. We waited and I guess they forgot because they never returned. But that's O.K! I got some awesome photos from front row at the concert! "The Baby" made me cry so hard, it was so sad. I love that song!

January 25, 2003

I did not get a chance to meet Blake this time around. :( But his concert was awesome! I cried when he sang "All Over Me", and "The Baby". I like how he has crowd interaction. "Same Old Song", and "Playboys of the Southwestern World" are the songs with the most crowd interaction. I can't wait for his new CD THE DREAMER" to come out February 4, 2003! He sang some cuts off this new album and they were so cool! He is so awesome! When he was just walking onto the stage, I threw a teddy bear at his feet. My sister says he saw me throw it, and he smiled and thought it was cute. I dunno. Anyways, I hope he enjoyed performing here in Waco, Texas!
