South African Ice Hockey Association invited Hokej Klub Ljubljana from April 2nd to April 12ve 2000 to play five International games in Johannesburg - Krugersdorph, Pretoria and Cape Town.
First three matches were played against National Team A of South Africa as their preparation games for Pool D World Championships in Iceland, while the last two games were played against Western Province selection team as the exhibition spectaculars.
The HK Ljubljana team was compoused by some guest players. Half of the team were veteran ex-pro players and the other half were players still playing in Slovenian championship for different clubs.
Despite this mixture Slovenian team was superior against both hosting opponent teams in all five events.
