Congratulations Duggu, U deserve all u get!
With a record-breaking dozen awards for Best Debut and Best Actor, it’s been a jeeto chappar phaad ke situation for heartthrob Hrithik Roshan who got a roller-coaster ride into the Hall of Overnight Fame.

Hrithik Roshan bagged two awards for the Best Actor and the Best Male Bebutant in 'Kaho Na...' while Karisma Kapoor added another feather to her cap with the Best Actress award for her role in 'Fiza.' Hrithik's father, Rakesh Roshan, was chosen the Best Director for 'Kaho Na...' while the movie was adjudged the Best Film. Rajesh Roshan also joined the family limelight when he was chosen the Best Music Director for the same film.

Going into a flashback, the romantic phenomenon of the 1970s recalled how he had seen Hrithik as a little kid whilst he dropped in on his grandfather producer J Om Prakash’s sets during the shoot of Aashiq Hoon Baharon Ka. ‘‘There was some distinct charismatic spark in him even as a kid. And I am not surprised that he has become the current mega-star,’’ smiled the veteran actor. Incidentally, the star turn-out comprised Amisha Patel and Mahima Choudhary who won the Best Debut and Best Actress awards respectively. Although they were shooting together, it proved to be a blessing in disguise for Amisha who came solo and left much before the arrival of Hrithik and hogged the exclusive limelight.

For those of us lucky enough to see it,I must say it should have been called the Roshan Show. The Roshans were shown literally every 2 minutes, although i didn't mind! The Hostess was this really annoying seriously skinny woman who tried her best to flirt with Hrithik as much as she could! Performances were by Akshay Kumar, Urmila, Preity Zinta and Sushmita Sen who looked fab!!!!!! I am soooo jealous. Anyway, Kareena missed out on Best Debut but when she came up for Lux Face of the year she was walking like she was either severely drunk or was wearing shoes which were too tight. I guess she couldnt face seeing lover boy with the missus! I also must say that the more i see Sussanne, the more I think she looks better without eye make up.

Hrithik Roshan won the Best Actor Award for his role in the film 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai' at the 46th Filmfare Awards, presented on Saturday night, February 17, 2001, in Mumbai. He also snapped up the Best Male Debut award. Good 4 him!!!!!!"Getting not one, but two awards, in my debut film has scared the daylights out of me!" Later on in his acceptance speech he also said."I'd like to thank Filmfare for scaring the hell out of a newcomer!"

The film 'Kaho Na Pyar Hai' also received the awards for Best Film; Best Director (the award went to Hrithik's father - Rakesh Roshan) and Best Music Director (the award went to his uncle - Rajesh Roshan).

Hrithik looked really great in a dark suit with a navy tie. This was the first time i had seen him and Sussanne together, in public, and he looked so happy!

When Preity Zinta was performing he had a cheeky smile on his face. He seemed to really enjoy himself, throughout the evening. For those of us lucky to view the awards on TV rather then over the internet, this was the first 'live' view I got of him and Sussanne together. She was not as pretty as I thought she would be. Oh, well! Looks aren't everything! What do u guys think? Put your views on my messageboard and hey, be sure to get a reply!
Hrithik received the first award of his life as he was named the "best actor of the year."

"It's definitely going to be a very memorable and happy day for me as I'm receiving the first award of my life for my debut film...And it will always be special to me," an overwhelmed Hrithik told PTI. Asked whom he gave the credit to, he quipped "my father, of course." The audience, which had Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium packed to capacity, swayed to songs rendered by Kumar Sanu, Mika and Jassi. Amongst the popular awards, it was Kaho na pyar hai which topped the tally with seven awards and also giving Hrithik Roshan his very first trophy.
