"We enjoyed the ending of Motherhood seeing both Gabrielle and Eve alive. We weren't thrilled with Xena's dragging of Gabrielle, though. She could have carried Gabrielle over her shoulders then dragged those heavy chains.
Adrienne Wilkinson really played Livia and Eve so well. Glad she had a change of heart and finally accepted Xena as her mother. We liked the concept of John The Baptist in the conversion of Livia/Eve. She has been baptized twice, as a baby and a grown-up.
We were also surprised that there wasn't a season ender cliffhanger. No worries and unanswered questions for the months of rerun. We are happy campers. "

"Thumbs up! The two things that come to mind are the performances of some of the cast and the storyline. I thought that Alex Tydings (Aphrodite), Kevin Smith (Ares), and the head of the Furies were the shining stars of all of the gods. Paris Jefferson makes Athena a good villian too. Sorry to see her go.
On the mortal front, Adrienne Wilkinson seems to be comfortable in her character now and her talent is shining through. I ( and others,I've heard) was worried that I wasn't going to be able to "connect" with the Eve character but Adrienne drew the viewers in with her performance in this episode and I, for one, am looking forward to her return next season. As always, LL was outstanding. Is it me or does she just get better and better? And, despite the bad hair day, ROC gave us a great "Hope"!
As for the story line, I have a lot of thoughts but not a lot of unanswered questions. That's a good thing. There were plenty of loose ends and unanswered questions all season. I liked that the season ender tied a few things up. As for the "cliffhanger" -or lack of one, to me, the evolution of Ares & the Ares/Xena relationship (allies? enemies?) is what I'm really looking forward to in season 6. Overall, "Motherhood" was pure entertainment, which is fine with me. After all, isn't that what TV shows are all about? Bravo TPTB! "
