You might have heard of him, but how many of you can say that you honestly know all about the hottest guy in wrestling. No, I'm not talking about The Rock or Stone Cold Steve Austin. I'm talking about Edge.
Adam Copeland, better known as WWF's Edge, was born on October 30, 1974. He was born and raised in Ontario, Canada. He and his tag team partner and partner in crime, Christian, watched a lot of Canadian Stampede wrestling while growing up,and he watched a lot of WWF wrestling. He and Christian have been friends since he was the new kid in his 5th grade class. Now that's a long time to be best friends!
He started out wrestling in the independent federations. He was part of the tag team Sex and Violence. His name was known as Sexton Hardcastle in the beginning with Sex and Violence. His tag team partner was Steele, better known today as Val Venis(Sean Morley) of the WWF.
Alright, that may be really interesting to some of you, but many of you are probably saying who cares. Get to the really important stuff - the WWF. Well, here you go...He debuted in 1998 and on TV in June wrestling Jose of Los Boricuas. The match was cut short, however, because Jose snapped his neck. Towards the end of 1998, he joined a group with Gangrel and Christian called The Brood. He and his brother (not really his brother, of course, that's just how the WWF refers to him), Christian were the main tag team of the group. Then, in July of 1999, Gangrel did not like the popularity of Edge so he turned on him saying, "I had to eliminate the weak of the brood" and that left Christian to choose who he'd go with. Luckily, he'd never desert his "brother".
On RAW in August of 1999, when Gangrel and Edge were fighting in the first bloodbath match ever, Gangrel was about to win, but Christian came out and gave Gangrel the bloodbath and went with his "brother" Edge. Finally, Edge had become popular. People finally recognized him for the great guy that he is. He won the Intercontinental Title in his hometown of Toronto. Unfortunately, it only lasted one day because the next night at Fully Loaded 1999, he lost the title back to Jeff Jarrett. Recently he had the Tag Team Championship belt with his "brother" Christian, the Rock and the Undertaker took it away, then they got them back the next day. During the Royal Rumble of 2001, Edge and Chirstian were up against the Dudley Boyz and they lost the titles, but they should get the Tag Team Championships back soon! Until then, we love them anyways! This makes it a total of five times that they have held these titles! Now that is a true accomplishment.
