(Yep, B.D.N. sure is in trouble.)

Summary: Starting where the last episode left off, the sandsteamer is hiding towards the end of the cliff at the fastest speed possible. When the captain tells B.D.N. that him and his gang are going to die along with the passengers, B.D.N. laughes and explains that he has getaway cars following behind the sandsteamers that he'll jump onto at the last minute. Vash and Kaite are now back inside and hiding in a vent shaft. Kaite explains what B.D.N. is planning and then begins a boring flashback about how his Dad was a workaholic. (But Vash interupts him, hurray!!) Kaite pulls out a map/blueprint of the entire ship and the two begin thinking of a plan.

Climbing down from the shaft, Vash throws several empty oxygen tanks at two members of the Bad Lads gang and attacks. He accidently hits them in critical spots and stops to give them first aid. Kaite starts preaching to Vash about unwise it is not to kill anybody, and how much easier it would of been for the two of them if he did. As he's talking he sees blood seeping out of Vash's side and realizes he was shot earlier by B.D.N. (When Vash rescued Kaite during the last episode, not this one.) Kaite leds Vash to a voice-tube type room where he can lead Vash around without getting him into fights with anyone. (The hallways are narrow and if Vash gets into a fight he'll have to kill.)

One of the Bad Lads that Vash patched up stumbles into the room where B.D.N. is and collaspes. He has a cartoon drawn by Vash on his back that causes B.D.N. to laugh and send out more of his gang. From the voice-tube room, Vash pretends to be a Bad Lad and gives them a false postion as to where he is. Vash then hands Kaite a pen looking thing that acts as a microphone that is also connected to Vash's earring. (Which Vash can use to hear and talk back.)

While Vash is running through the hallway's being careful not to kill anybody, Kaite has a flashback. Apprently his Father died not to long ago, and he's been living on the street. B.D.N. offered him a lot of money to work for him, so he took it. Anyway, B.D.N. figured out the postion Vash gave him was false, so him and a dozen or so Bad Lad's open fire on him when he opens a certain door. They only fire around him, and Vash just stands there calmly. Through his earring he can hear Kaite getting beaten by two Bad Lad's down the hallway...

As B.D.N. begins charging up his gun, one of his "Bad Lads" puts a gun to his throat. Remember how M&M jumped two Bad Lad's in the last episode? Well they stole their outfits. Vash quickly agrees to a duel outside with B.D.N. if he wins the sandsteamer has to be stopped. Out on the deck B.D.N. says that the two will duel as soon as his coin hits the deck. Vash agrees, and the coin is tossed into the air. As the coin is falling, the sandsteamer bumps into the side of the canyon and boulders fall onto the deck. Vash dives behind a larger one and hits B.D.N. lightly in the shoulder/dynamo area. B.D.N. misses but notices that Vash is fighting with wounds he recieved earlier. Realizing it's not a fair fight, B.D.N. calls Vash the winner and gives up. (Vash did basically hit him first.) Although Vash won, the emergency brakes won't work right. With Vash hurt, it's up to Kaite to stop the sandsteamer. Using his Father's map/blueprints he crawls over burning hot pipes and pulls the emergency switch. Still the sandsteamer won't stop, so B.D.N. uses his getaway car from earlier and drives it right into the sandsteamer. (And manages to stop it right before it plunges over the cliff.)

The next morning Kaite wakes up covered in bandages with Vash sitting by his bedside. They wind up sitting on top of the motionless sandsteamer to rest for a bit. Kaite begins humming a song, (The same song Rem was humming in the dream Vash had last episode.), and Vash looks like he's going to cry. The episode ends with the two of them argueing over the song. ^-^

Best Moment: When Vash smashes Kaite into the floor using his head. ^-^

Worst Moment: Any flashback Kaite has about his Father. He makes him seem like this horrible guy that never payed attention to him. Didn't seem like it to me....

Rating: (Out of 3 stars)

Maybe it's becuz this is the only episode on the DVD that suffers from lack of Wolfwood. Or maybe it's becuz B.D.N. went from semi-badass to total wuss. Take your pick...
