(Vash in the Middle of Having Fun with Kesskass.)
Sitting next to Vash is Meryl, who is just a tad jealous of his money. Oh!! And shes finally realized that Vash is Vash the Stampede. (About time.) As Vash and M&M are walking down the street, Meryl starts shouting at people to get out of Vash's way. Several whorey looking women, (Your typical anime women with large boobs.), wave to Vash and Meryl is instantly in his face. ^-^ In the meantime, a giant sandsteamer arrives at the edge of town. A gorgeous woman with the skimpiest outfit in creation, appears along with a strange man wearing a mask/hat combo.
A few hours later Vash is standing next to one of the plants dumping a bottle of alchol onto the ground. (Don't ask me why becuz I don't know.) The woman from the sandsteamer appears behind him and introduces herself as Elizabeth, the woman in charge of repairing the plants. Elizabeth asks Vash to help her, becuz someone is trying to kill her. (Yea that happens a lot in this series.) Vash who has already fallen for Elizabeth quickly says yes, and she takes him to her hotel.
Alone in the room next to Elizabeth's, Vash is attacked by a guy named Kesskass. Whose wearing a mask, sporting dreadlocks, and has blades attached to his arms and legs. After breaking his bootknife on one of the blades, Vash whips out his gun and calmly asks the guy to leave. Surpisingly he does, but not before leaving a bomb on the floor. Vash goes flying out the window clinging to his bed as his hotel room explodes. Elizabeth calmly opens her own window a few second later and tells him she switched their rooms at the last minute. ^0^
The next day Vash and Elizabeth, followed by M&M, go to the plants to begin repairs. When of the plants begins malfunctioning, so Elizabeth and Vash go to check it out. Kesskass reappears, and begins attacking. Elizabeth runs away, and Vash uses Kesskass's own blades to pin him to the floor. As he turns to find Elizabeth, she slams the door shut in his face. Through the door she tells Vash that she once lived in the city of July twenty years ago. (The city Vash supposedly blew apart for the unenlightened.) Elizabeth was only 6, but she remembers the day quite clearly. No one died in the city but Vash's attack left 1 million people homeless. Eventually all the people wasted away, including Elizabeth's parents. She would of too, but a mysterious stranger helped her survie.
Elizabeth says she wants Vash to die for everything he's done to her and leaves. (Obviously not careing what happens to Kesskass, who was just a guy she hired to kill Vash.) Vash walks up to plant and appears to be praying to it, when the scene changes to M&M outside. Meryl is screaming that they need to go back and get Vash. (Could she like him? Hmmm...) Several minutes pass, no explosion. Vash comes calmly strolling out and walks up to Elizabeth. As people run by thanking him for saving the city again, Vash tells Elizabeth he's sorry that he didn't die. He doesn't remember anything that happened that day July was destroyed, and refuses to die until he can. As he hugs Elizabeth she slowly realizes that the "Mysterious Stranger" who saved her from dying 20 years ago, is the very same man she just tried to kill. (Vash, duh!) She falls to the ground and cries as Vash walks away....
Rating: (Out of 3 stars) My favorite episode in the entire Trigun series. It's funny, but towards the end it has a serious side to it. Some people only like Trigun when it's serious or funny, I happen to like both. ^-^
