(Vash waving "Hi" to the lovely Marianne.)

Summary: The second episode begins with a middle-aged man we later find out to be named Mr.Cliff, shooting at a figure that appears to be Vash. Mr.Cliff hits the person in the shoulder, and they run off. Flash to a scene of a tired looking Meryl and Millie. (Who'll we'll call M&M from now on.) Both girls are exhausted and dehydrated, but they can't find water, or even people in the town anywhere. Spotting a well, they pull the bucket up only to have it come up with rocks in it. Hopeless, they collapse in the sand.

While M&M are laying there, two people on their way out of town walk by. One is heard saying how everyone has left town becuz, not only is there no water, but Vash the Stampede is staying at the mansion. (The mansion being the biggest house in town.) M&M quickly run over to the mansion and knock on the doors. (Donuts in hand of course.) No one other then the real Vash the Stampede answers the door, and hands them each a glass of water. Meryl immedately starts complaining, calling Vash: "Ace Gunman", becuz she doesn't believe he's the real thing. Vash just smiles and happily eats all the donuts she brought.

Once inside, M&M meet Mr.Cliff. The man who owns the mansion, and hired Vash as his bodyguard. Mr.Cliff explains that he needs a bodyguard becuz he owns the towns water supply and thieves have been trying to break in and kill him. He also has a guest staying with him by the name of Marianne. She's a pretty young blonde girl, that Vash is constantly trying to flirt with. (He acts all serious and manly around her, and tries to use big words.) Meryl pulls Mr.Cliff behind a curtain and demands to know how he can think "Ace Gunman" is the real Vash. Mr.Cliff laughes and explains that he doesn't think Vash is the real thing either, he's just using the name to scare off the townspeople/thieves. Feeling better, Meryl asks if she and Millie can stay as extra "bodyguards" and are sent off to cook dinner. Meanwhile, Vash is outside trying to see Marianne in the shower through her window. (Naughty boy.)

While cleaning up dishes from the dining room, Meryl sees Marianne sneaking out of Mr.Cliff's study. She wonders why the girls in there, but doesn't do much about it. In her room Marianne starts taking off her dress and you get to see her shoulder wrapped in bloody bandages. However, Vash knocks on her door and she quickly pulls her dress back on. Acting 100% serious Vash has a long romantic conversation with Marianne, and unknowingly squeezes her bad shoulder. Before he can hurt her further, Marianne claims she sees something outside her window and Vash should investigate it. Angry, Vash dives out the window only to almost scare M&M half to death. (They were eating underneath Marianne's window.) Seeing theres nothing threatening outside, Vash and M&M go back inside to discover that Mr.Cliff and Marianne are both missing. While they're trying to figure out where they could be, Millie accidently reveals how she caught Vash trying to look at Marianne in the shower. Meryl gets up in his face, screaming how perverted he is, and Vash falls over a rope, triggering a secret door to open....

Flash to Mr.Cliff and Marianne in the secret room. Marianne now has her hair up and a red outfit on, making her look exactly like Vash from the back. (She was the one Mr.Cliff shot in the shoulder in the beginning of the episode.) She accuses Mr.Cliff of monopolizing all the towns water, and prepares to shoot him with her gun. But before she can get a shot off, Mr.Cliff easily knocks her to the ground and prepares to shoot her with his own gun. Vash takes this time to fall into the water, throwing Mr.Cliff off guard. Basically, Mr.Cliff shoots at Vash, Vash dances around the bullets, and one of the water harvesting machines gets hit and explodes. The entire town is flooded with water, and Mr.Cliff is arrested by the sheriff. (Who is Marianne.) Marianne thanks Vash and tells him she can't help but semi-believe that he is the real Vash the Stampede. But, if he admits to it, she'd have to arrest him. Meryl as usual, laughes and asks how she can think such a thing. Marianne responds by telling Meryl that she simply has no taste in men....

Best Moment: When Vash is acting serious infront of Marianne, and trying to be all romantic and such. It's so cute!! And then when she tells him theres sumthing outside her window in order to get rid of him. Lol, gotta love Vash. ^0^

Worst Moment: Some parts really drag. Like when Cliff is explaining why he hired "Vash" as his bodyguard to Meryl. That conversation seems to last forever!!

Interesting Fact: This is the only other episode my Dad watched with me, and he kept asking if Mr.Cliff was Hitler in disguise!!

My favorite episode on the first DVD. For some reason, I can watch this episode over and over, and still laugh. Maybe it's becuz Vash acts all goofy and crazy. You gotta love when he puts the "I'm so Serious" show on for Marianne!! ^-^
