Episode 12: Diablo

(Vash the Humanoid Goal.)

Summary: This episode starts off in what appears to be a jail cell full of knives, guns, bullets, etc. An incredibly muscular man named Monev the Gale is doing push-ups on the floor. Another new character appears behind him and tells Monev its time to hunt. When Monev asks who he's hunting he's told Vash the Stampede... That very same night Vash is visiting the towns shoe-maker, asking how much a new pair of boots will cost.

The next morning M&M are sitting on a bench discussing what a nice day it is. Vash is on the other side of them day-dreaming, when he gets smacked in the face with a ball. The kids responsible apologize, but Vash chases after them anyway. Meryl watches Vash playing happily with the kids and realizes he's back to his normal self. Vash buys all the children ice cream, but when he offers some to the only girl, she hesitates and then runs off.

All is going good until a man in a white coat, with gold eyes, blue hair, spikes on one shoulder, and a skull on the other shows up. He somehow is able to talk to Vash telepathically, and introduces himself as Legato Bluesummers. (He is obviously the guy who was talking to Monev earlier.) Legato explains that he's a messenger whose been looking for Vash, and warns him that his life is going to end that day. The girl that refused to take Vash's ice cream suddenly pops up and walks towards Legato. He offers her a hotdog, and then appears to be chokeing her. Vash turns around ready to rip Legato a new one, only to find him with his hands innocently in the air, as the girl skips away with her hot dog. Legato, (Still telepathically mind you.), tells Vash that he could easily kill everyone around them in the blink of an eye. He slowly gets up and begins walking away, annouceing to Vash that he's left a gift for him as a sign of what he's capable of.

Seconds later, the shoe-maker's wife comes running into the street screaming that her husbands been murdered. Since Vash was the last one seen with him alive, he's blamed and placed in jail. Lying in his jail cell with his hands chained to the wall, Vash wonders what Legato wants, and wonders if a certain "Him" is Legato's boss. He has a flashback and grows so angry that his eyes start glowing blue. (*Drool Drool*) M&M pop in to say hi, only to be frightened by Vash's eyes. In a blink he's back to normal and tells the girls he's fine, but prefers to be alone. The door in the Sheriff's office flies open, and Monev starts firing his guns. Vash screams for everyone to get down as Monev introduces himself. Monev declares how he is the first Gung-Ho Gun, and has been training none-stop for 20 years just to kill Vash. M&M foolishly hang around as Monev pins Vash against the wall. Meryl pulls out a Derringer, but is easily tossed aside. Millie fires her stungun, throwing Monev off-guard and allowing Vash to escape.

Vash runs through the town trying to get people out of the way before Monev can kill them. (While trying to save his own skin at the same time.) Monev realizes what he's doing and kills a few innocents just for laughes. Vash gets beyond pissed and his eyes start glowing blue again. (Woo Hoo!!) Pulling out his silver gun, Vash fires several shots and blows off Monev's orange helmet type thing. Monev screams about how Vash must be the "Diablo", (The way he says "Diablo" is classic.), and runs off to recover.

Vash meanwhile is already high-tailing it over to the town bank to wait for Monev to come back. He orders the owner to open the bank vault for him and begins tampering with the door. Monev appears outside and figures he has Vash cornered. Wrong.. Vash hooks explosives to the vault door and uses it to pin Monev to the ground. Having no bullets left, he has his robotic arm transform and shoves it into Monev's eye. While Monev pleads for his life, Vash suddenly has a flashback of Rem. The episode ends with him debateing on whether or not to kill Monev...

Best Moment: Whenever Vash's eyes glow blue or white. *Drools*

Worst Moment: What the heck is up with the way Monev says "Diablo"!? He suddenly gets a Mexican accent...

Rating: (Out of 3 stars)

After the annoying 11th episode, and the less then exciting 13th one following, we finally get to see something good. Monev is an awesome character, (An even better action figure.), and every scene with Legato in it seems to get automatically cooler.
