Who She is- Vash and Knives' mother...well sorta. Rem basically adopted little Vash'n'Knives, and raised them like her own kids. Rem is Vash's inspiration. She's the only reason why he won't kill, and finds it so painful to do so. (He feels like he's broken the ultimate promise to her when he kills Legato.) Rem taught Vash'n'Knives all she could about love and peace. Obviously Vash took it to heart, and Knives couldn't of cared less. Vash watches Rem die from an escape pod with Knives, when the ship they were on explodes in space. (This all happened when Vash'n'Knives were kids, Trigun takes place over a hundred years after.)

My Take on Rem- As if you couldn't tell, I have a great dislike for Rem. Don't e-mail me saying: "How can you not like her!? She made Vash the way he is!!" I don't understand how Vash can only spend maybe a year with her and be so deeply effected. Maybe thats just the way he is, and that's fine, but I don't see how it's possible. Theres just sumthing about Rem that annoys me. Prolly cuz Vash loves her so much. But how can he love someone so much who he spent 1 year with outta 131!? *Boils in envy*
