Reproduction

Seahorses’ reproduction is probably one of the most interesting facts that make this animal unique. Not the female, but the male becomes pregnant when the female deposits her eggs into his pouch. The pregnancy can last from two to three weeks. Out of the thousands of offspring that are born, on average, only about two will survive long enough to reach maturity.
