Author: Kendra A
Rating: R to NC-17
Warnings: TWT (Timeline? What Timeline?). Well, it's necessary; otherwise, at what point in the war would all ten of the pilots be able to take a hiatus of several months to hang out? Why would they have the time? And why would they totally risk their security like that? Just work with me.
Also: slight Relena-bashing (I couldn't resist); what some could call mildly bastardized Wufei, except, come on, be fair, he is a bastard in the series. And I fix him, so don't worry. He's a good guy. I swear. Duo and Faith each have their usual stereotypical dark pasts, except this time they're combined, which should be interesting.
Heads up for heavy lime or light lemon (depends on which direction you want to look at it from) and mention of NCS (non-consensual sex). There's a good bit of shounen ai / yaoi (m/m slash) and shoujo ai / yuri (femslash) and even some het, just for variety's sake.
For the sake of clarity: It's really BtVS that's AU here, but most of the familiar rules apply. Just accept a couple of changes and move on.
1) The International Watcher's Council (IWC) has decided to invest in resisting the war, both because war brings out the vampires and demons (who pretty much see battlefields as an all-you-can-eat buffet) and because, with the kind of totalitarian government that would take over, the IWC would be discovered, invaded and eventually fully closed down. Thus, the Slayers (Buffy, Kendra, Faith) are being used as Gundam pilots along with Willow (recruited by Janna Kalderash for her extensive magical skills) and Cordelia (recruited by Doyle for her fencing skills). Suspend reality, okay?
2) Despite the fact that they're stuffy annoying guys, the IWC and the Watcher's Council Representatives (WCRs) are on the Light Side of the Force in this fic. Quentin Travers has, in fact, adopted Faith by her own request. And the G-Boys' Doctors are good guys, too, because I kind of like them, even if J is a freaky, freaky man.
3) The family relations are gonna get a little sketchy. I'm going to try to scan in my doodle of a family tree, because otherwise I'd be confused. The most important things for the moment are a) Willow's mother, Sheila Rosenberg, was Sheila Rayne before she married and is Ethan Rayne's sister and b) Cordelia's father is Faith's father, and Faith Travers is obviously not Faith's real name. Deep breath. Moving on.
4) Ethan Rayne is a bad, bad man.
5) In the future, the aristocracy has regressed. This is obvious to those who watch Gundam Wing (or it was to me), but just to clear things up... Arranged marriages are the norm. There are a select few very, very rich families whose names everybody knows. On L-4, the one family is the Winner family. Duh. On Earth, which is bigger, there are the Peacecrafts (of course), the Chases (old money), the Rosenbergs (second-generation money, which is still nouveau riche), and the Madden-Charlottes. This last family is an invention by the IWC for whenever they need an influential name to toss around. There are coming-out parties for rich kids when they turn sixteen, and the classes are very, very separated.
6) Here's the deal with BtVS. Pretty much picture all the characters around Season One--Buffy's still voluptuous and perky, with hair that's more brown than blonde, Willow's got long red hair and a permanent blush, Cordelia has bangs, and do me a favor and pretend Kendra and Faith existed in Season One. Yay.
7) Janna Kalderash = Jenny Calendar. They're the same person, I'm just going with the name that's more fun and less secretive.
8) Angel and Spike are friends. Accept
and move on.
