Before he began piloting Nataku, he was a scholar with little regard for the war until his wife, Meilan, was killed in an attack on his colony. His sense of justice drove him to protect the colonies from OZ, to uphold justice and, above all else, to be strong. This desire for strength is the cause between his rivalry with Treize, who he failed to defeat during a fencing match. Unlike the other four pilots, he develops no real friendship within their ranks, although he has a very high opinion of Heero. |
