As you may know my name is Daniel Alksnis, I attend Brebeuf College in the Ninth Grade. I’ll spare you the details of how I look, for if you really want to see me go find me. I was born here in Toronto and I come from a family of 5 (2 parents and 2 younger sisters). I suppose I’m half Italian because my mom is Italian and the rest is pretty much Canadian, except for the small portion of Lithuanian I get from my grandfather on my father’s side and that’s where my last name comes from.

I have a number of interests, many which include technology one way or another. One of the major ones are video games, ever since I was four and got my first game console, Super Nintendo I’ve embraced the virtual world. I own my SNES, Nintendo 64 and most recent Nintendo Gamecube, as you can tell I’m a hardcore Nintendo fan and always will be especially when they come out with games like the Zelda series, Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Viewtiful Joe and so on, it’s hard not to be. I still like Playstation mainly because they have SquareEnix, damn I love their games. However I’m disgusted with this garbage they call Crystal Chronicles that they’ve recently released to the GCN. This is how you make a new start with your former gaming platform… It’s a mockery to Nintendo. Anyways I think that’s enough… oh and of coarse I play quite a few games on my computer but if I stick with this subject it’ll be days before I’m done.

I find myself quite the master in web design and I myself have made a number of successful and spectacular sites. The one you see now is all made by me and this is absolutely nothing to what I can do. As you can see I take pride in my work. I know a number of the internet languages ie. HTML, Javascript, PHP and CGI and quite fluently for the most part… and it really makes me wonder why I haven’t learned any other real languages yet. Graphic design is my favourite part of web design, sometimes I just create site layouts and don’t care to use them for anything. I figure they’d be great for a portfolio and I’m pretty sure in the words of Mr. Poanessa “Resume Stuffers”.

When it comes to television… yes, another hobby, my favorite shows have to be The Simpsons for one, as well as Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens and Seinfeld, as you can see all comedies. Another genre of choice would have to be anime, mainly under the class of fantasy and sci-fi but because of the very minimal choice because of North America’s investments in shows which make good marketing I find myself only watching 1 or 2.

Well if your starting to wonder if all I do is sit around in front of screens all day your mostly right, but I think the non screen related stuff I do can make up for my virtual addiction. I try to involve myself a lot at school and I take part in a good bit of athletic activities in and out of school. I play soccer in the summer and I swim for most of the year, I play floor hockey mainly on the side, nothing much official. I go running and I’m starting weight training. I used to be involved in archery but I guess I’ve lost interest.
