Buckeyes

(Great Ohio Confection)

1. 1 stick butter (melted)

2. 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter

3. 1 tsp vanilla

4. 1 box powdered sugar

5. 1 large package chocolate chips

6. 1-2 Tbsp Crisco

• Mix first 4 ingredients together and form into small balls

• Freeze for 1/2 to 1 hour

• Melt 2/3 large package of chocolate chips with 1-2 Tbsp Crisco

• Dip balls into chocolate almost to the top to look like buckeyes

• Put on wax paper

• Freeze and store

Makes approx 40 Buckeyes

Hint: Put toothpicks in top of balls before dipping into chocolate

To add Rice Krispies for crunch follow these steps: 

• Increase peanut butter to 2 cups

• Add 3 1/2 cups Rice Krispies after mixing the first four ingredients and form into small balls. 

• Follow the rest of the steps in the original recipe
