The TPGL Will Live On!

Mets Owner Andreas Lemme gives us a glimpse of who the Mets will be Protecting

Plans to revive the league are to bring the teams to an equal level and to increase the chances of currently weaker teams to win. This includes a dispersal draft before the beginning of the next season. Each team will be allowed to protect 12 players, the rest will become free agents. This should give every team the chance to be competitiv and attract new owners for open teams.

Plans are that each team can protect 12 players from their current roster. the rest will be available in a free agent draft.
These are the guys that will likely be protected by the Mets:

1. C.C. Sabathia (24)
One of the most promising young starters in the TPGL. Currently 10-10 with an ERA of 3.57

2. Bob Reynolds (26)
Excellent young pitcher and Candidate for the Rookie of the Year award. 11-8 with an ERA of 3.08

3. Brad Radke (35)
Great veteran with the most career wins in the National League(164) he was just aquired for prospect Kenny Baugh.

4. Chris Rudi (27)
A guy with a strong arm can pitch in the rotation as well as out of the bullpen.(9-7 4.13 ERA 21 starts)

5. Ron Filipowicz (23)
A candidate for the closers job he is leading the NL with an ERA of .42.

6. Bill Medich (23)
Another potential Rookie of the year. The lefthanded first baseman is hitting .293 with 38 HR and 94 RBI in his first Major League year.

7. Aramis Ramirez (30)
A veteran third baseman with great power is locked in the cleanup spot.(.258 33HR 95 RBI)

8. Johnny Kvasnak (26)
Kvasnak is a good allround shortstop who can hit for average and power.(.284 33HR 67RBI)

9. Barney Rothchild (25)
He is just 25 years old but is locked in leftfield for four seasons allready. (.279 24HR 54RBI 22SB)

10. Rocco Baldelli (23)
The switchhitting centerfielder will likely be introduced to the Major League next season. He will give the Mets excellent speed in the leadoff spot.

11. Joe Borchard (22)
Another guy ready for the big leagues next season he will fill the hole left by Jermaine Dye in rightfield.

12. The last spot is still open and will likely be filled by a young reliever.
Candidates are Juan Cooper(26), Joe Sherry(27), Kirk Burns(26) or prospect Scott Chiasson(24).

This will leave the following players unprotected.
SPs Aaron Sele, Jake Westbrook, Seth Etherton, Bob Brooks.
RPs Mark Wohlers, Ober Moreno, Manny Barrios.
C Yorvit Torrealba, 1B Ben Johnson, 2B Joe Lawence & Nate Rolison, SS Neifi Perez, LF Rickey Peters and RF Bill Stone.
