This is the gay coffee bar. You can sit inside or out, drink a latte, and watch the parade of WeHo boys in muscle shirts. Most of West Hollywood seems to end up here on Saturday nights; k.d. lang occasionally makes an appearance.

Hollywood hipsters mix it up with Silver Lake boys in this urban oasis. The mixed crowd always has a great time chatting over the nicely priced drinks and the best jukebox in town.

The small dance floor fills on weekends with Valley boys bored by the snootier WeHo scene. This is a major pickup scene. It's especially popular on Thursday nights.

Open until 3am most nights and 4am on weekends, Catch One pulls in an ethnically diverse gay, lesbian, and straight crowd. Thursday nights see a mostly female crowd.

Cover varies Fashionable of late, Club 7969 features male and female strippers baring it all while mingling with the gay, lesbian, and straight crowd. Each night has a different theme, ranging from drag burlesques to techno parties. On Tuesdays, Michelle's CC revue--with its legion of topless female dancers--attracts a largely lesbian crowd.

For years, the "Martini Lounge" located in this Silver Lake restaurant has been one of the hottest gay cocktail bars in town. Around the long bar and zinc-colored cocktail tables, gargantuan margaritas and strong martinis are sipped by the buffed-out locals. The crowd is ethnically mixed and largely gay but definitely straight-friendly. The WeHo location's "Bluebar" is a quiet alternative to the nearby wild-party-oriented clubs.

Sparsely decorated with a few street signs and a hanging toilet seat, this dark one-room hangout attempts to exude a tough blue-collar look. Don't be fooled; the button-down exec-by-day crowd likes to butch it up by night in this denim-and-leather joint.

Cover $10-$20
The second Saturday of each month at Rudolpho's
Note the cover disparity: If you ain't in drag, prepare to pay for it (and wait in line a bit longer than the more fashionably hip). This great drag club, located in a Mexican restaurant, switches themes each month ("Chicks with Dicks" was a standout), and it offers up every type of music--except disco and Liza. That's entertainment.

Cover varies
A diverse, outgoing, and mostly older crowd cruises back and forth between the front-room bar and the dance floor in back. More women--probably looking to party with the friendly crowd and enjoy the great drink specials--are drawn to Micky's than to some of the neighboring bars.

This amiable place reputedly serves the best martini in Silver Lake. It's a handsome and intimate piano bar with plenty of friendly patrons, and the ideal place to meet people if you're new in town.

For almost 20 years this high-energy, high-attitude disco has been the preferred mainstay on WeHo's gay dance club circuit. Between turns around the dance floor, shirtless muscle boys self-consciously strut about--like peacocks flashing their plumes--looking to exchange vital statistics.
