The Outcome of a Bet : Chapters 4-7

Chapter 4

Man.... I gotta do somethin about this thing with me and Shina. I have to tell her how I feel or she won't talk to me again! Then again, I have no guarantee that she'll talk to me once I tell her. I'm already sitting in my seat waiting for the teacher to start class when Shina walked in. I called her name hoping to get her attention. Shina looked up at me and sat down in the front. This is great... she always sits by me! Now I really gotta talk to her. Then, a new girl came into the room with the teacher. She looked georgeous, but I only got my eyes set for Shina. (Aww... that's sweet oppa ^^)

"Class we have a new student," the teacher said sitting behind his desk. "Introduce yourself."

"Ahn nyung ha seh yo, Choi Lizzie eem ni da," she said smiling.

"Take a seat by Sung Ae," he replied. Oh great, she's sitting by Shina and Tony Ahn. Tony's gonna hit on her and who knows what Shina would say.

"Damn... she looks good," Dong Wan said smiling at me. "I might have to drop out of the bet and go after her."

"She's outta your class hyung," I responded rolling my eyes.

"Chi~ If anything I'm outta her class! But in this case I can make an exception." I rolled my eyes again thinking about everything. Lizzie soon started talking to Shina and they were all smiles and giggles. I'm so pathetic it ain't even funny.

"Mr. Lee, is there a reason you're not paying attention??" Damn... the teacher always had to pick on me for somethin. I smiled brightly nodding.

"As a matter-of-fact there is," I replied casting a glance at Shina.

"And what might that be?" The teacher smiled thinking he was gonna embarass me. How wrong he was.

"Well you see there's this girl I like and I did something I shouldn't have to her and I'm afraid I hurt her and I wanna ask her to the prom. I hope she doesn't turn me down but I won't give up until she says yes." I smiled at Shina and she quickly looked away talking to Lizzie.

"Woo what are you doing?!" Dong Wan hissed at me. I simply smiled. He knew what I was doing and he didn't like it. Wasn't he just talking about Lizzie anywayz?? (-_-;;)

"Well just for you Mr. Lee we are going to stop our english infinitives lecture, and play love connection," the teacher said smirking. The class cheered and Shina blushed deeper as she continued talking to Lizzie.

"Sun saeng nim, you're too kind," I replied cheekily bowing. He rolled his eyes continuing.

"So Mr. Lee.... is it someone in this room?" he asked. I nodded smiling. He chuckled at my childish behavior.

"Well Mr. Lee, if you don't mind, would you care to talk to the object of your affections?"

"Yea sure!" I exclaimed. The class laughed as I walked down to Shina's desk. She blushed even redder as the class looked on anxiously. I didn't want everyone to hear this cuz it was kinda personal ya know? (Then why are you doing it now oppa?) i gently tilted her face towards mine and I leaned in whispering in her ear.

"Shina yah, I'm really sorry about last night but you gotta know, I like you alot and I've liked you even before you went out with Chil Hyun. And I'm sorry about everything that happened between you two but I want you to move on and... um... I want you to give me a chance. So will you please give me the honor of going to the Prom with me??" Shina looked away as she hastily brushed away her tears. She whispered something to Lizzie and Lizzie nodded back smiling. She turned to me with a small smile on her face.

"Sure," she replied finally.

"Really?!" I exclaimed shocked. I gave her a hug and the class cheered. Dong Wan's face scowled as the bell rang. I ran up getting my stuff.

"Yo Woo hold up," Dong Wan called as I walked to the door with Shina.

"Wait for me ok?" I asked. Shina nodded going outside.

"I'm so proud of you dong seng!" Dong Wan exclaimed.

"Well I couldn't have her going out with you or Danny hyung," I said laughing. Dong Wan smiled handing me the money.

"Well, a bet's a bet so here you go." I took the money putting it into my back pocket.

"Hey I gotta go now," I said opening the door. Dong Wan nodded and as I stepped out the door I was greeted with a firm hand slapping my face. I looked up holding my cheek. There stood an angry Shina and equally furious Lizzie.

"Oh shit...."

Chapter 5

"I can't believe you!" Shina screamed, her beautiful brown eyes filled with hurt and anger. Danny hyung came up as a crowd formed, wondering what going on.

"Hey what's wrong?" he asked noticing the growing tension.

"Woo won the bet and Shina found out," Dong Wan said quietly. His eyes reflected that of shock and hell, I couldn't blame him.

"Shina it's not what it seems!" I yelled exasperated. She glared at me and I felt like dying right there.

"Lee Min Woo you give me one reason why I shouldn't think you and God knows whoever else bet on me like I was an object," she said coldly.

"I didn't want you to go to the prom with Danny hyung or Dong Wan hyung," I said slowly, embarrassed. She turned to Danny fixing him with a vicious glare as he receded back into the crowd.

"Who I go out with is none of your business Min Woo!" She yelled.

"Yes it is!" I yelled back. She took a step back, eyeing me cautiously.

"Why?" A simple question really... but I was bound to make it more than that.

"Because you mean the world to me and I can't stand the idea of you going out with anyone else except me." She gasped, still eyeing me suspiciously.

"You know, I really can't believe you! Chil Hyun said those exact same words to me!" She said just above a whisper, but the anger that reflected in them is unmistakable.

"I thought you and Chil Hyun were completely opposite, but now I see you two are just alike." That struck a nerve, and not a very good one.

"So what are you gonna do now? It's not like you can run to Chil Hyun hyung crying like before. In fact, if I didn't know any better I'd say he's fucking some girl just like before on your anniversary!" As soon as I said those words I regretted them. Shina drew back and punched me in the face, her tears spilling everywhere. I was shocked that I just stumbled backwards almost falling.

"You asshole, I hate you," She spat running off. Lizzie and Christiane followed, along with some other girls. I sighed picking up my bookbag and slinging it over my shoulder.

"You guys I'm gonna bounce," I said walking towards the double doors. Dong Wan and Danny nodded following close behind.

*~Shina's P.O.V.~*

"I can't believe him!" Lizzie yelled fuming. I nodded eating another bite of my ice cream.

"You know," my friend Mako said putting down her spoon, "I never would've thought Min Woo would do that.... I mean he cares about you so much!"

"Yeah," Rei agreed. "There's gotta be something more to this."

"Well I don't wanna know," I replied sighing. Lizzie gave me a comforting hug, something I needed. My cell phone then rang loudly inside my purse.

"Yeo bo seh yo??"

"Nae uh...."

"Noo goo seh yo?

"Min Woo een dae yo..." *Click* His voice was the last thing I wanted to hear right now. I took the battery off my phone, throwing them both into my purse.

"Was that him?" Mako asked looking at me. I nodded eating my ice cream again.

"Maybe Rei's right," Lizzie said. "Maybe there's more to it then we know." I opened my mouth to reply but I was cut off by Rei's phone.

"Mi an," she apologized answering the phone.

"Yeo bo seh yo?? Jin Hwannie oppa what's up?!" We groaned as she talked to her boyfriend. She then put her hand over the receiver looking at me.

"Do you want me to stay here with you?" she asked concerned. I shook my head giving a small smile.

"Go out with Jin Hwan oppa, have fun," I said. She smiled talking to Jin Hwan a moment more before hanging up.

"Well I'm fixin to meet oppa now so I'll see you later ok?" We all nodded waving and smiling as she left.

"So what do you guys wanna do?" Lizzie asked finishing the last of her mango smoothie. "It's only 2"

"Let's go to the mall!" Mako exclaimed. "We don't have any dresses for the prom!" I looked up hearing that word. All the memories rushed back and I glared despite myself. Mako shrunk back in her seat.

"I'm sorry unni, I didn't mean--" I cut her off with the wave of my hand.

"No, it's ok... it's just that I already have a dress, I just don't have anyone to go with..." My voice trailed off shakily. A guy then came up to our booth speaking.

"Did I hear you were dateless for the prom?" I looked up immediately.

"Kang Sang Hoon!!! (lol I'm sorry Lizzie I had to) What are you doing here?!" Sang Hoon smiled slicking his hair back. Mako smiled and Lizzie looked on confused.

"Oh I'm sorry!" I shouted giggling. "Sang Hoon oppa meet my friends Mako and Lizzie, Mako and Lizzie meet my oppa Kang Sang Hoon." They said their hi's and Sang Hoon sat down besides Mako.

"So did I hear that Shina Kim didn't have a date?" he asked teasingly. I blushed and he laughed harder.

"Wanna go with me?" I asked jokingly. He nodded childishly.

"Sure! I haven't been to the prom in ages!" I scoffed rolling my eyes at him.

"It's only been a year oppa." He grinned lopsidedly.

"Well time flies when you're in college," he retorted sticking his tongue out. Tony and Dong Wan then came to the booth pulling up chairs.

"How ya doin Shina yah?" Dong Wan asked with a small smile.

"Like you look... shit," I said bluntly. Dong Wan gasped running his hands through his spiky hair. Sang Hoon looked between us confused.

"Am I missing something here?"

"We all nodded not bothering to explain." Tony's gaze landed with Liz's, and Lizzie blushed nervously.

"So um Lizzie," he began nervously, "do you have a date to the prom yet?"

"Are you asking me to the prom?" she replied.

"No!" Dong Wan yelled. "I mean, he's asking for me cuz I'm really shy," he said softly. Chi~ yeah right.

"Really?" Lizzie said sarcastically astonished. "I never would've noticed." We all laughed as Dong Wan pouted.

"So will you go?" Tony asked.

"Depends on who's wanting to go with me," Lizzie responded smiling.

"Well I wanna go with you," Tony said shyly. "I wanna go with the prettiest girl I've ever seen." Lizzie blushed at the cheesy compliment.

"Well in that case, I'll give you my number and we can talk later." Tony beamed as Dong Wan scoffed.

"Why not me?!" he demanded still pouting.

"Tony has something you don't," Lizzie replied simply.

"Which is....?"

"Sexy ears!" Tony blushed this time and we all laughed, except Dong Wan.

"My ears are cute too," he sniffled. "Come on! I'll do anything if you go with me!" he pleaded. Lizzie's eyes twinkled with amusement.

"Really? Anything??" Dong Wan nodded. Lizzie slid out from the booth sauntering over to him.

"Beg," she commanded. Dong Wan stepped back.

"Beg?! You want me to beg?!?! You're nuts, Kim Dong Wan does not beg any girl for a date."

"Well then Kim Dong Wan will just be Lizzie-less on Prom night now won't he?" Lizzie asked smirking as she started to walk off. Dong Wan fell on his knees crawling quickly to her and grabbing her leg, restraining her from moving.

"Please Lizzie yah! I was just joking!" Dong Wan yelled as he started kissing her leg. O_o~ "Hey you know you have nice legs?" Lizzie blushed as people started to stare.

"Dong Wan get off my leg!" she shouted. Dong Wan shook his head.

"Not until you say yes!" Lizzie sighed.

"Yes ok! I'll go to the prom with you!" Dong Wan jumped up dusting off his khakis.

"The night of the Prom is gonna be the best night of your life!" he exclaimed kissing her before running off. "Cya!!" Lizzie shook her head wondering what just happened.

*~Min Woo's P.O.V.~*

This day has been horrible. First I confess my feelings to Shina and that's all good, but then she found out about the stupid bet! Stupid Dong Wan! This is all his fault! I could be chillin at Shina's house right now dancing or something but instead I'm forced to leave a million messages on her machine. I would dance but I'm too tired to even do that. As soon as I got up off the couch the phone rang. I dashed to it hoping it was Shina.

"Hello?? Shina?!"

"Wrong!"

"Jin what do you want?

"Hi to you too! You know why do I have to find out stuff about what happened to you from thirty million other sources?? As your best friend I thought there's things that you could tell me ya know?"

"Sorry man, I just skipped the rest of school. If you come over later I'll tell ya ok but right now I'm tired so drop by in like four hours. Cya." I hung up the phone not bothering to put it on the receiver. My main destination was the couch and I'm determined to get there and sleep. As soon as I reached the soft cushions the doorbell rang. Now this sux... who could possibly want to see me now. I grumbled getting up to answer the door. I flung it open angrily and my jaw dropped.

"Hyung....?"

Chapter 6

Chil Hyun smiled walking through the door.

"Nice to see you too dongseng!" I looked at him dumbfoundedly as I shut the door.

"Hyung what are you doing here?" I asked sitting in a nearby chair.

"I'm here on break," he replied pulling his hiar back. "And if I'm not mistaken, your prom is comin up next week right? What's this year's theme? Who ya goin with?" I rasied an eyebrow at my hyung's enthusiasm.

"If I didn't know any better I'd say you're more enthusiastic than i am about this," I replied dryly as I stood up walking to the kitchen.

"Just answer the questions," he replied looking at me.

"'Mexican Fiesta' and no one! Are you happy now??" I turned around glaring at him. He took a look at me grabbing my jaw.

"What happened?" My look faltered as I turned away sitting at the table. He sat across from me and I told him everything that happened between Shina and me. Afterwards he looked at me astonished.

"You really like her don't you?" he asked with a small smile. I nodded blushing.

"I knew it," he said softly. "I knew it everytime you looked at her."

"So what do I do hyung?" I asked. He shrugged unsure.

"Just call her," he said simply.

"I left like thirty messages on her answering machine and she turned off her cell." I sighed defeatedly.

"Don't worry, I'll handle it ok?" Chil Hyun gave me a smile and ran out the door. I had no clue what he was about to do but I hope he doesn't make it worse. I sighed again, something I've been doing alot lately, and got on the couch trying to sleep.

~~~~
*~Lizzie's P.O.V.~*
I left Shina's house hoping she could settle her problem with Min Woo. They seem like a really cute couple, or at least should be, but then again I've only been here for one day. And what an interesting day it's been! Getting asked out by two hotties is not bad! *grin* Dong Wan looks alot better than Tony, but I really like Tony better. If only I could find a way to ditch Dong Wan to leave with Tony... he seems like he could find someone else to target. (^^;;) I was almost home when my phone rang.
"Yeo bo seh yo?"
"Hi... this is Tony..."
"Oh hi Tonyah! How are you?"
"Good.. I just had a little question..." I smiled wondering what he had to ask.
"Sure Tonyah, ask away," I responded.
"You know I like it when you call me Tonyah.." I smiled as I pulled into my driveway.
"I'll have to remember that Tonyah," I said flirtingly as I walked into my house. Tony laughed.
"So what were you going to ask me?" I asked walking to the kitchen.
"Oh yeah ehehe..." he laughed nervously, "I was wondering if um.... you wanna go out sometime?" I laughed at his shyness.
"But I don't even know you Tonyah," I said teasingly.
"Well how will I get to know you if we don't go out Lizzie yah?" I smiled sitting on the counter.
"You know I like it when you call me Lizzie yah," I said mockingly. He laughed at my teasing. (I'd call it flirting lizzie! =P)
"Well I'll have to remember that too," he replied and this time I laughed. "So when are we gonna go out?"
"Who says we are?"
"Are you telling me you don't won't wanna go out with me so you can see my sexy ears??" I giggled at his silliness. Damn I was caught.
"So when's a good time for you?" I asked smiling.
"How bout later tonight?" he asked.
"Works for me, how bout in 2 hours?"
"Perfect. I'll see you then Lizzie yah~~~~" he said childishly.
"Bye Tonyah~~~~"
"Byeeee~~~~" I laughed softly to myself as I hung up the phone.
"This has been a great first day indeed..."
~~~~

*~Shina's P.O.V.~*

"I hate my life," I said sighing. Christiane looked at me comfortingly, even though she couldn't offer any advice.

"You know," Christiane finally said, "I think you should talk to him."

"Why?" I asked sipping my iced coffee. "He couldn't possible change my mind about him now! And you know what?"

"Wha?"

"After all this time, I was really starting to like him. I really thought we could be more than friends... Sucks to be me huh?" Christiane didn't say anything as there was a knock on the door.

"I sware if it's Min Woo or something I'm gonna scream!" I yelled putting down my drink. I walked to the door and opened it screaming at the face that looked back at me.

"Long time no see Shina yah," he said quietly. Christiane ran up to me.

"Is it... Chil Hyun????" she squeaked surprised. He glanced at Christiane briefly before returning his gaze to me.

"Can I come in?" he asked.

"Whatever you have to tell me you coulda told me over the phone," I replied bluntly looking away.

"And get the answering machine like my brother? Give me some credit Shina, you know me better than that."

"Unfortunately," I mumbled as I stepped out of the doorway letting him in. Christiane grabbed her keys off the coffee table.

"I'm gonna go now, I'll talk to you lata ok?" I nodded as Christiane left the house. She then turned her attention back to Chil Hyun.

"Well you wanted to talk... so talk.."

~~~~
*~Min Woo's P.O.V.~*
*One Hour Later*
*Ring~~~~*
I was jolted awake by my handphone ringing on the coffee table. I yawned stretching as I reached for the phone.
"Yeo bo seh yo?"
"Hey it's me."
"What do you want Hyun hyung?"
"Come over here."
"Where's 'here'?"
"Shina's house." I jumped up off the couch looking for my keys.
"Aight I'll be there in about ten minutes," I said hanging up the phone. I found the keys and dashed out the house.
~~~~

I nervously knocked on the door, unsure of what was gonna happen. Shina opened the door and gave a small smile as she let me in. As I walked through the door Chil Hyun stood up smiling.

"Well I'm gonna go find Sung Hoon hyung and Brian so I'll see you later," he said walking to the door. He gave me a reassuring smile and let himself out. I turned to Shina who looked away nervously avoiding my gaze. I walked over and sat beside her, taking her hand within mine.

"Shina yah, I'm so sorry about everything that happened.. I know it was stupid and I wish I could've changed what I did. I really regret it and if you hate me I'll understand. All I'm asking for is another chance... if you say no, then I'll leave you alone..." I gently put my other hand around her face, forcing her to look at me. She started crying, and I pulled her close to me, muffling her sobs.

"God I hate you Lee Min Woo," she mumbled between her sniffles. I smiled softly as I pulled her away, brushing her tears away with my hands.

"Do you really?" I asked teasingly and she gave a little smile. I leaned down kissing her softly, Shina slowly responding. She reluctantly pulled apart, catching her breath. She looked up at me, then turning away.

"I'm sorry Min Woo yah... I can't... Not now..." I tried to hide my dissapointment but failed miserably. She gave an apologetic smile.

"I'm sorry..." I shook my head waving her off.

"It's ok," I said, "I'm not gonna rush you... but..." I looked away scared to ask her.

"But what?" she asked urging me to continue.

I sighed quietly. "I was just wondering if you'd um... still go the Prom with me..." Shina gave another apologetic smile and I frowned again.

"I already have a date," she said softly. I turned looking at her curiously.

"Who? Is it someone I know?" She nodded playing with the end of her shirt nervously.

"Kang Sang Hoon...."

"WHAT?!?!?!"

Chapter 7

Lizzie's P.O.V.

*7.00*

I walked around nervously waiting for Tonyah to arrive so we can go out. We didn't plan anything so I hope he can think of something fun to do. (Sure Lizzie, just make him do all the work!) There was a knock on the door and I jumped up to get it.

"Hi Tonyah!" I greeted as I stepped outside.

"Hi Lizzie yah," he replied as he opened the door for me (such a gentleman! ^^)

"So what are we gonna do?" I asked as I looked at his ears curiously. He turned to me with a small smile.

"Actually..." he started shyly, "I was hoping we could go hang out at my place.." I leaned back in my seat glaring at him. I mean what did he take me for?!

"No-no not like that!" he stuttered. "I meant like I cook something and we watch a movie or something!" I relaxed, giving him a small smile.

"I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions like that," I said softly touching his arm. He gave a small smile as he pulled into the driveway.

"It's ok... I know that came out kinda wrong." (You bet it did! =P) He jumped out the car and opened the door for Lizzie taking her arm as he led her inside his house. They were greeted with an beautiful old woman in her mid 70's.

"Ahn nyung ha seh yo halmuni," Tony said insaeing. "This is Choi Lizzie, the girl I was telling you about."

"Ahn nyung ha seh yo," Lizzie said bowing as well. "Nice to meet you." Halmuni took a step back looking at her.

"You are one beautiful girl," she said smiling. "No wonder Seung Hoya brought you here. He always did have good taste in girls."

"Halmuni..." Tony whined blushing. She laughed softly walking up the stairs.

"You two have fun now," she said walking to her room.

"So what are we gonna do Seung Hoya?" I asked teasingly. He stuck his tongue out at me as he went into the kitchen and opened the window.

"You're gonna sit here and watch me cook a four star meal!" he exclaimed beaming. I laughed as he opened the fridge.

"I wanna help! You might burn something!" I said walking in there. Tony thought for a moment, then shrugged going back to the fridge.

"Hey!" he exclaimed looking at me again, "I'll have you know I'm a good cook!" He pulled out some cake mix and some various vegetables and beef. I peered over his shoulder as he munched on a banana.

"Hungry?" I asked taking the cake mix from him. He nodded childishly as he handed me a spatula and a bowl.

"Now remember to add water to the mix," he said laughing as I poured the mix into the bowl.

"Hey I can cook too!" I retorted mixing in the water. He nodded unconvinced as he started browning the beef.

"Hey hand me a pan would ya?" I asked him. He bent down and got a baking pan out of the cabinet. I held the bowl in my hands and he turned around quickly.. too quickly. I jumped and some cake mix spilled onto his chin and shirt. (^^;;) I giggled seeing Tonyah covered in cake mix.

"I'm.. so... sorry.. Tonyah..puhahaha.." I said inbetween my fits of laughter. He smirked reaching for me and the cake mix.

"You think it's funny huh?" he asked reaching into the cake batter and smearing it all over my face. I screamed and we started throwing cake batter at each other, completely making a mess of the kitchen. I slipped on a puddle of batter and fell, laughing all the way. Tony reached down and pulled me up.

"Are you ok?" he asked laughing as well. I smiled wiping batter off his chin.

"You know, this was a waste of good cake mix," I said loking at our clothes. Tony chuckled as he stirred the beef in the pan, moving it to another burner.

"How about I ask halmuni to get you some clothes and you can change?" he asked. I nodded and he dashed upstairs. I tended to the beef and cleaned the batter off the floors and walls when he came back downstairs with some clothes.

"Um.. here's some clothes and you can get changed upstairs, first door on the left," he said sheepishly as he handed me the clothes. I nodded taking them and walking upstairs. This has been an interesting night.

~~~~
*~Min Woo's P.O.V.~*
"I can't believe you.." I said pacing around. "Of all the people to go with you had to go with him?!" Shina stood up glaring at me.
"Well if you didn't bet on me and be an asshole I'd still be going with you now wouldn't I?!" Shina yelled. She walked to the door.
"You know what Woo, talk to me when you've calmed down and you're head is removed from your ass," she said opening the door. I shot her an apologetic glance but she looked away pointing outside. I sighed walking outside and before I could turn around she slammed the door. Damn my luck... soon as I get one problem solved another one comes up. I walked to my car and slowly drove off.
~~~~

Tony's P.O.V.

I had just finished the food when Lizzie came downstairs yawning.

"You tired?" I asked as I turned off the rice.

"Yeah," she replied stretching as she came up to the window.

"Just go rest on the couch and I'll be there in a minute k?" I said scooping some rice onto a plate. She nodded yawning again falling lazily on the couch.

I smiled inwardly at myself... I'm glad halmuni couldn't see me now cuz then I'd never hear the end of it. Then again, this is the first time I've brought a girl over my house for longer than half an hour, let alone cooked for her. But I never felt anything for them like I do for Lizzie. I finished putting the food on the plates and carried them outside to the living room where I found Lizzie fast asleep. I chuckled to myself as I put all the food up, storing it in the refridgerator. I went back to the living room and gently picked up Lizzie, carrying her to my room (bad naughty oppa!) I gently placed her in my bed pulling the covers up to her neck. I put a Curious George stuffed animal in her arms and kissed her forhead.

"My monkey~~~ Tonyah~~~"she mumbled in her sleep as she rolled over clutching poor Curious George.(I have one of those! so cute! cute monkey hehe) I smiled as I took off my shoes, and climbed into bed, wrapping my arms protectively around her, happy and content.
