CHAPTER-7
A GLIMPSE OF THE PAST
Professor McGonagall and Madison used a portkey to get to Diagon Alley. It was the speediest way to get there. Madison thought it was a beautiful day to go shopping. The sun was starting to come up and the little shops were beginning to open. There were very few people.
First off, they went to Gringotts so Madison could exchange muggle money for wizard money. After that, Professor McGonagall took Madison to get her robes, and books. Then they went to Ollivanders.
They stepped inside. An old man was standing behind the counter.
“Good morning,” he said.
“Good morning,” said Madison.
“Good morning Ollivander, we’ve come for Madison’s wand.” Professor McGonagall said.
“Ah, yes. I was expecting to see you eventually,” he said looking at Madison.
He looked over to Professor McGonagall and said, “she is the lost…”
Professor McGonagall nodded cutting Mr. Ollivander off.
After measuring Madison in every possible way, he gave her wands to try out.
“Let me see, try this one.”
He handed her a wand and quickly snatched it away.

“Okay, here’s another. Try this one.”
He took it away.
“You know, your mother’s wand wasn’t as hard to find. Or shall I say, your mother’s wand found your mother on her fifth try. “ Mr. Ollivander said. “ Maple and Unicorn hair, twelve inches,” he smiled.
“Here, try this one.”
As soon as Madison took the wand in her hand and gave it a wave, gold and red sparks shot out of it. Madison’s eyes closed involuntarily and she saw a glimpse of something before she could open them. A boy and a girl, with their backs to Madison, were sitting on the grass facing what looked like the lake at Hogwarts.
“I love you,” the girl said.
“I love you too Hermione.”
Madison’s eyes had closed for about a second or two. Neither, Mr. Ollivander nor Professor McGonagall seemed to have noticed.
What was that? Madison wondered. Did I imagine it? Was it a vision?
Mr. Ollivander was saying how much he loved his job as he put Madison’s wand in a box. Professor McGonagall was getting up, trying to wake her legs from sitting.
Finally they left Ollivanders and went to buy Madison’s cauldron, telescope, set of crystal phials and set of brass scales.
