PS2 Price Cut!

Sony Computer Entertainment of America announced last night that they have slashed the price of all U.S. PlayStation 2 consoles by 33%. Effective immediately, the PS2 is now available for $199 from the original price of $299. Dual Shock 2 controllers and official PS2 memory cards are now $24, which is $10 less from the original price of $34.

In addition, SCEA has cut the prices on the PS One, which will now sell dirt cheap for $49.99. According to Kaz Hirai, the president of Sony Computer Entertainment America, Sony is looking into reducing the price of all PS2 software (except the "Greatest Hits" titles) in the near future, although nothing is guaranteed yet.
