It appears the rule of three applies here as well. The first one is the best, then the third, then the second. While it is not too bad, it has some really great scenes and nothing that really takes away from thye experience. Yet, it seems to be missing something.
One thing is that it only runs for one hour and thirty minutes, so whenever there is an intense scene, it only runs for a minute, two at the most. During that minute though, it is great action and suspense but then once they escape the story moves slowly until they reach the next intense scene.
Of course the dinosaurs are amazing and up to par with Final Fantasy movie grahics. They act like real dinosaurs and have such fluid motion they look real. They even have all the traits down, with the one fight scene between a Spinosaurus and a Tyrannosaurus they got it down so that the T-Rex attacked the throat while the Spinosaurus used other tactics. All around, the visual feel of te movie was wonderful.
The story could have used a little work, but it still was a good one. The good Doctor/Paleontologist is offered a job to show them the sites while flying around the mysterious Isla Loma. Of course the obvious betrayal leaves him stranded with them and one of his students. After that, the problems build up, leading to many twists and turns in the story. It was a good story but it could have used more tweaking.
Overall, the movie was good, but not a classic. I would recommend you see it because it is a good experience but don’t expect to remember it for the rest of your life.
