Melissa: to start off, how would you basically describe your feelings for everclear?
Sara: lets see..... its hard to describe my feelings for them... aside form the fact that they are great musicians... they also have very powerful lyrics that hit home... and relate to my everyday life.... but words diminsh when it comes to describing all that i feel for or about them
Melissa: i know exactly how you feel. the feeling is almost too great to put into words. so you would definitely find their lyrics realistic?
Sara: very realistic... not just to me but to everyone.... in one way or another.... a person can relate them to their lives.... maybe on different levels and not as directly for some.... but they can... their lyrics very realistic...
Melissa: i would definitely agree. and which song would you consider the easiest for you to relate to, in terms of lyrics? which one can you mostly relate to in terms of music?
Sara: when it comes to lyrics it has to be father of mine... my father died when i was 12... however when he was alive he didnt pay me alot of attention anyway... he had alot of serious drug problems.... though i had heard EC before that song is the one that one me over.... but there are alot of others that i easily relate to such as why i dont believe in god... but initially Father of mine
Sara: as for musically....
Sara: Nervous and weird.... hell all of world of noise is rockin
Melissa: father of mine has touched many hearts and hit home for quite a few people. it's amazing how art can so easily connect like that.
Sara: yeah...
Sara: he's been where some of us are
Sara: and his where we want to go
Sara: he knows what it is like
Melissa: won is amazing musically- as for all of their cds. i am prone to el distorto when it comes to musically, there is no other intrumental that could compare to that one. definitely.
Sara: he he.... its good
Melissa: so what do you think in terms of everclear's different musical styels, from album to album?
Sara: well... there music is deffinently evolving... it was harder to begon with but now its more popish... alot of fans dont like that.... but i think it shows that the band is changing as music changes.... its the same way with the whole rock genre.... its not dying just evolving
Melissa: that's a great way to look at it. and is there one everclear album that appeals more to you than the others?
Sara: yeah... sparkle and Fade... aside from the fact that i think its the best.. it has this sort of importance in my life... its more than a CD... Art talks about his father sending him a 5 dollar bill... well all i can remember my father giving me was that CD
Sara: so it has alot of importance in my life
Melissa: you said sprakle and fade, when father of mine is on so much for the afterglow, i'm confused?
Melissa: i have to go now, but we are going to finish this tomorrow. k? just clear me up on that last questions you answered and then i've got to go.
Sara: yeah.... ok... well my father gave me a whole bunch of CD's when i was little.... i never really listened to them.... i was into New Kids on the block (dont tell anyone) after my father dies i was listening to the radio and father of mine comes on... and i feel in love with that song... after the song they said it was by everclear and i remembered the Cd that my father had given me... from then on i feel in love with everclear....
Sara: so sparkle and fade has the most significance in my life
Sara: but Father of mine one me over Melissa: ohh i see. that's awesome.
Sara: yeah
